INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! My name is Neha and this casting call is for my approximately 5 minute Senior year thesis film: WHAT THE CLAM! This film is a culmination of everything I’ve learned in school and will take me a year to fully complete!
I’m currently casting roles for the two main characters of my short. If you're not cast for a main role, and your voice matches the tone of the show, I may ask you to provide lines for a couple minor roles!
All roles are in the English language.
This film is on a student budget, so I will be paying a flat fee of $30 USD for both voice actors, and around $10 - 15 USD for any minor roles. I’ll be willing to compensate extra if we end up having to do a lot of retakes. All Voice actors will be credited at the end of the film.
THESIS FILM OVERVIEW
DOC CROC, the main character of a cartoon, gets abruptly kidnapped from his home channel and dragged through different TV channels by an omnipotent entity known as THE STATIC. DOC CROC just wants to go back home and rid himself of THE STATIC while THE STATIC wants to play with and taunt DOC CROC before he ultimately consumes him. Will DOC CROC be able to get out of this seemingly inescapable situation?
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is December 16, 2025. This deadline is flexible and I may extend it if need be. My deadline for all voice acting to be finished and submitted is January 9, 2026, as I will have to edit and compile it to be ready for animation shortly after.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be warmly greeted by me! I’m super excited to work with others in order to create a final film and truly value the time all of you will spend auditioning and recording your lines! Although I’m paying within a student budget, there may be instances where lines change and we have to do a good number of retakes. In instances such as those I am more than willing to pay extra for the extra time put in to those takes! As a student, I am more flexible when it comes to deadlines or sudden life circumstances. I understand that stuff happens, so if you are unable to submit your lines on the deadline just make sure to let me know!
I will communicate primarily through Discord and email. If you are unfamiliar with either of these applications, you can still audition, however, I would recommend participation through Discord so you can keep up to date.
WHAT I’LL ASK OF YOU
First and foremost, have fun -- if you have a different, more natural or interesting way of saying a line, feel free to pitch it to me! I am super open to different ideas!
Please submit clean recordings (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- I don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice).
Please submit your recordings as one .wav file to my email, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, I’ll provide you with a google drive link.
THANK YOU! :)
