Welcome - Overview
Welcome to the open casting call for Tales From Alderwood, a web-based comic created by Medli20 and Bobsplosion, that continues to be updated every Monday and Friday. This is a fan dub (with official consultation!), that will continue to update as chapter milestones are hit. You can find the official webcomic here: https://alderwood.the-comic.org/ . We are currently casting for Chapter 0 and Chapter 1 only.
This will be a long ongoing project, however, due to the web-comic being constantly updated, timeframes cannot be guaranteed to be set in stone. Cast will likely be called upon infrequently, especially those in main, major and supporting roles.
While this is a passion project, it should also be noted that it is non-profit, and will not be monetized at any point. As such, all work on this project is on a volunteer basis, and your time is highly appreciated. Anyone in the project will be credited appropriately at the end of every installment, both in the published media and the descriptions/citations of said media.
At this current moment in time, Tales From Alderwood features mild profanity, with no NSFW themes. Though, as previously stated, the webcomic is still being published. Without going into any spoilers, future developments will/may include:
Some of these elements will be included much later on in publication and may include characters that haven’t been introduced yet. If you are uncomfortable with any of the above (especially if you’re considering auditioning for the main and major reoccurring cast) and wish to enquire further about themes a character(s) may be involved in or participate in, in the future, please contact the director using the discord account mentioned below.
Prior to reading the ‘Auditon Guidelines’ and ‘Character Briefs’, we understand that the current characters listed for auditions will not be a fit for every voice. However, the need for voices will continue to increase as the project continues. The director would like to extend an invite to any actors/actresses who are interested in the project but believe they’re not applicable to the currently available roles, to submit any voice acting demo reels for future reference to the assigned "Demo Reels" role at the end of this listing.

Audition Guidelines
Please record all the audition lines given for the character(s) you wish to audition for, using the provided information to give your best interpretation of the character(s). We encourage you to read the webcomic for greater context, though this is entirely optional. (It’s also a great read!)
Please record 2-3 takes per character in an ‘ABCABC’ format.
Eg. Take 1 - Line 1, Line 2, Line 3
Take 2 - Line 1, Line 2, Line 3
Please do not edit your recordings beyond basic clean-up (ie. cutting out long pauses and scrapped takes, etc.). Please do not apply effects such as reverb, pitch correction and/or noise reduction.
Please leave 2-3 seconds of raw audio silence at the beginning and end of your recording.
