War of the Spark Episode 3 - Voice of All
Project Overview
As Wizards of the Coast continues to release their weekly Magic Story updates, it is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.
Magic Story is back with a web fiction version of the events of the War of the Spark novel! Today features a number of old and new characters. Some have only one line this week, but they may appear again later! You can read the the story here:
If you're interested in hearing our past works, you can listen to all of them here:

We can also be found on Spotify, Soundcloud, Stitcher, YouTube, iTunes, and Google Podcasts! We are looking to keep up with the release of Wizards' stories as best as possible and will release our version the second following Friday, so expect to be cast this week and have your lines to me within a few days.
As a general casting note, I do not typically have any voice requirements in mind for characters. I would much rather hear your interpretations and choose from among them.

An elderly human and the patriarch of the Morov oligarchs. Pontiff Morov is very old with graying skin and absolutely no hair, looking very much as if he might become a ghost at any moment. He is stern and patronizing. He is unconcerned with the army marching at their doorstep, more determined to undermine his leader than anything.
"I am happy to issue a church edict condemning the Eternals' harvesting of these . . . 'Planeswalker Sparks'? Is that the correct term? Well, no matter. We'll play with the wording."
"I imagine if things are that grave, the Living Guildpact will finally show his face and solve things."
"Perhaps the prudent thing would be to pull back our forces to a defensible position here at the Cathedral Opulent and wait things out. In a few days, the situation may look very different."
Described as a "dangerously handsome" vampire, Tithe-Master Zoltan is in charge of the church's coffers. At the moment he is only concerned with not spending a cent, even to save his home.
"Tithes have been down in these difficult times. And it hasn't helped that you keep forgiving debts, guildmaster. Let's allow things to settle, shall we? The economics of the war may look much better after it's over. A rebuilding phase in the city always brings in more revenue."
"Appearances, at least, mandate you be accompanied as far as the Senate House."
"Indeed. Why would we follow someone who squandered such opportunities?"
An angel who long ago defected from the Boros Legion, Maladola is the Orzhov Syndicate's chief warrior executioner. Though eager for battle, she falls in line with her colleagues in the interest of hurting her guild leader.
"If our new guildmaster would lead the charge, I'm sure the church executioners would be pleased to provide her with an honor guard—at least to accompany her to the summit meeting at the Azorius Senate."
"Please, guildmaster. We insist. Do we not?"
"Without his authority and power, what use is the man?"
Bilagru is a giant. As chief enforcer of the Church Militant, it is his job to lead the Orzhov forces in taking the debts of those who have wronged the Orzhov, by any means necessary. He is deeply loyal to his guildmaster.
"Guildmaster. I am Bilagru, chief enforcer for the Church Militant. I was told you might require my services."
"Ghosts and spirits have run things inside the Orzhova for so long, everyone forgets that most of the collecting's done by the living. I can take my enforcers—and what I can raise of the Syndicate's military might—out into the streets . . . to 'protect' Orzhov investments."
"I live to serve."
Self-described "Greatest Thief in the Multiverse," Dack Fayden is your archetypal dashing rogue with a heart of gold. This wiki page covers his character in great detail: https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Dack_Fayden
This is his only line and it's unclear if he will reappear in future episodes. Should he do so, you will be asked to reprise the role. Dack is a planeswalker and quite a popular character, so even though he will die over the course of War of the Spark, it's possible he may return.
"I don't think Bolas is the merciful type. You probably didn't see it, but a Planeswalker named Domri Rade attempted to switch sides and join up with the dragon. He was the first Planeswalker harvested."
The angel Aurelia is the current guildmaster of the Boros Legion. A strong, confident leader, Aurelia rules with a firm but kind hand. She lives to protect the innocent from tyranny and actively works to bring the guilds of Ravnica into harmony.
Aurelia is a major character on Ravnica. Though the first audition line is her only one in today's story, she will likely appear again and has appeared in other stories that we do plan to cover.
"Hear, hear! The fate of Amonkhet and Skalla must not befall Ravnica."
"What puzzles me, Jura, is why I haven't heard of your skill in battle before now. I get the feeling someone like you isn't apt to lay low and shirk the glory of battle."
"You have done the Boros and me a great service, Jura. You have done the citizens of Ravnica an even greater one. Are you certain you do not wish to join our ranks and serve the citizens of Ravnica?"
