Voicing Harmony Recasts ( Danganronpa and My Hero Academia )

Project Overview

About Us

You may know us from our YouTube videos, but we are Voicing Harmony, a group with over 27, 000 subscribers that's dedicated to creating and dubbing comics. We always ask for permission from the original artist, we always credit them, and while we do not pay anyone, we also do not monetize our works, and instead, everyone is payed in love. While we have most of the characters for this project cast already, we are looking to recast a few of our roles.

FAQ

Q- Do I need to know anything about the source material to audition?

A- It is not necessary, but it certainly does help. We like to have fun in our discussions, and they often revolve around the material that we are dubbing. Also, we are looking for people who can convey the characters personalities and motives, and the best way to do that is to know the characters very well. However, like we said before, it is not a requirement.

Q- Do I need to have a lot of experience or a good mic?

A- Well... Yes, and no. While experience is very nice to have, it once again is not required. Typically, people with more experience are just better, but if we have a rookie walk in here and ace the audition, then we would love to have them. After all, many of our current voice actors got their start with this project. As for the mic, you will need at least a mediocre one. We can almost guarantee that if you use a phone or computer mic, you will not be cast. A Blue Snowball or better is what we have in mind, and the better a mic you have, the better your chances are. The voice is obviously the most important, but if it's between two equally good people, we'll have to go with the one with the better microphone.

Q- Do I need a Discord?

A- YES. This is where we will be doing all of our work, from turning in lines, to getting to know each other better. A Discord is essential to this project.

Q- What games/anime are we dubbing?

A- Currently, we are dubbing all Danganronpa titles (Mostly V3), My Hero Academia, and Osomatsu-san. However, we are looking to branch out into other series, such as Persona.

Q- How old do I have to be to audition?

A- Fourteen is the absolute youngest that you can be to audition. However, we prefer if you are at least fifteen. Our current youngest member is fourteen, but they don't voice act. Danganronpa, which is our main source of content, is a mature title, and therefore, we would prefer to have people who are at the very least in their teens (Also, no one really sounds prepubescent).

Q- Should the voices emulate the English dub? The Japanese? Neither?

A- The answer to this question is really up to you! We don't really prefer one way or the other. If I was forced to give an answer, I would say that the English voice would be better, but a lot of our team members sound more like the English, some more like the Japanese, and some take elements from both. For each character, I will be telling you the names of the English voice actors, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you should try to do their voice exactly. Feel free to take liberties!

Q- Is there a chance for double casting?

A- Yes, actually! While it's not typically standard or professional, ever since we've started branching out into things other than Danganronpa V3, we've been casting the same person for multiple roles. For instance, the same person that voices Rantaro, also voices Eraserhead. And the same person who voices Korekiyo also voices Shigaraki. While we do not do double casting for the Danganronpa V3 roles (so one person cannot voice both Kiibo and Kokichi), it would, for instance, be possible for the same person to voice Kiibo and Todoroki, for example. We also have other roles to fill, as comics come up, that we will not have official casting calls for. In our group, we've had one person voice up to ten roles in separate comics before!

Lastly, HAVE FUN. We pride ourselves on being professional, yet still being able to let loose. We engage in both silly banter and work-related discussions, so the most important thing is to have a balance of fun and maturity. Have fun while auditioning, and have fun with us if you're cast. Thank you to everyone who auditions!

Kiibo- Danganronpa V3

Unpaid
Role assigned to: TunnelBerg

K1-B0, also known as Kiibo, is a robot, and one of the sixteen students trapped in the killing game of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. Kiibo is a freindly robot, who is loyal to his friends. He hates everything robophobic, and will not hesitate to call people out when they say something he doesn't like. He is polite, serious, and kind, often not understanding human references, which some refer to as cute.

Kiibo should have a medium to medium-high voice, sounding fairly generic. He doesn't sound robotic in the slightest, but does speak in somewhat of a strict and polite manner, while retaining a soft kindness. His English voice actor is Lucien Dodge.

  • (Solemn, Proud) There are notable differences between us, but they're nothing for me to be ashamed of. Because...with my talent, it's possible that I can save you all.

  • (Defensive, Irritated) Are you another robophobe? I have a recording function. If you make any robophobic remarks, I will see you in court.

  • (Friendly) I may have the appearance of a robot, but I am a high school student just like you. From one high school student to another, I hope we can all get along!

Kokichi Ouma- Danganronpa V3

Role assigned to: Devin McLaughlin

Kokichi Ouma is the Ultimate Supreme Leader, and one of the sixteen students trapped in the killing game of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. Kokichi is a mischievous prankster that serves as the games main antagonist for most of the game. He is an avid liar, and will often lie just to spice things up. He hates being bored, so he often stirs up trouble just for the fun of it. He claims to be the supreme leader of a secret organization, but that's probably a lie too. When he needs to be, he can be very sinister, however.

Kokichi should have medium-high to high voice, sounding a little bit nasally, however that certainly isn't a requirement. He always has a slight undertone of playfulness in his voice, even when he's saying things that seem to be malicious. His English voice actor is Derek Stephen Prince.

  • (Devilish, Sinister) If you deny all of that *just* because it's a lie... Then that means you guys are just terrible at being lied to! Seriously, the worst!

  • (Excited, Mischievous) Woooow, so exciting! But I definitely don't wanna die! Well, I guess that's the same for everyone else! Ah-hahahahahaha!

  • (Depressed) I...know it... A despair that makes you want to die... A despair that makes you want to put everyone out of their misery...

Tenko Chabashira- Danganronpa V3

Role assigned to: garbageGothic

Tenko Chabashira is known as the Ultimate Aikido Master, and is one of the sixteen students trapped in the killing game of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. Tenko is a passionate and spirited fighter, who focuses on her craft of Neo-Aikido, a style that she and her master came up with. She absolutely loves cute girls, almost a little too much, and is very adamant when it comes to winning them over. For all of her passion, however, she absolutely hates males. Or at least, she calls them all degenerates. Despite this, Tenko is loyal, and while she claims all males are degenerate, she will still hear them out, and show certain ones a moderate amount of respect. Just don't do anything out of line.

Tenko should have around a medium range for a female, with plenty of energy in it. Her voice should still have some femininity to it, but it's certainly not a girly-girl voice. She is very emotional, so make sure not to hold back when delivering the lines. Tenko's English voice actress is Julie Ann Taylor.

  • (Motivating, Cheerful) Keep your chin up and live life facing forward! Survive with me and everyone else!

  • (Embarrassed, Flustered) C-Cute!? Aaaahhh... St-Stop iiit... I... I-I'm not... cute... My face crinkles when I suck down a shake... And when I wipe my face, my eyelids turn inside-out.

  • (Disgusted, Angry) This is why I hate degenerate males! They're about as considerate as amoebas!

Role assigned to: Ryan Pratt

Fumikage Tokoyami is a boy with a quirk allowing him to materialize and contract a sentient dark shadow, with which he can use offensively, defensively, and all other sorts of ways. He has the head of what appears to be a raven, but appears normal otherwise. He is kind and thoughtful, yet shrouded in mystery. He prefers to be alone, but is concerned for his classmates well-beings, and knows when to back down. He is reserved, and a man of few words.

Tokoyami's voice should be a medium-low to low, with a bit of a rasp in it. It certainly shouldn't be too low, but it should be low enough to sound mysterious, and almost a little menacing. His English voice actor is Josh Grelle.

  • (Matter of Fact) With your positions revealed, you're in my crosshairs. And there's no hiding from the coming storm. As Hawks would say... speed beats power.

  • (Concerned, Pained) Stay back! If you're not careful... My dark shadow might hurt you!

  • (Mysterious) Revelry in the dark...

Role assigned to: Ryan Pratt

Tenya Iida is a boy with a quirk allowing him to run super fast, due to the engines on his ankles. He is muscular and broad, and is the class president for class 1-A. He is strict, yet kind and understanding, wanting the best for his friends, and not wanting to put them in harms way. Iida is passionate and high-spirited, meaning that he will accomplish whatever he sets his mind to.

Iida's voice should be in the medium to medium-low range, and sound fairly commanding yet enthused all the time. He should have a loud, booming, boisterous voice. His English voice actor is J. Michael Tatum.

  • (Melancholy, yet Energized) I'm a novice. I can't measure up to their standards! Be that as it may... I have to stand up! Never again! Never again will they... or my brother... leave me behind in the dust!

  • (Commanding) Class 1-A, gather round! It is time for us to fill our brains with knowledge!

  • (Advising, Friendly) Wanting to do it and being suitable for it are different issues.

Shoto Todoroki- MHA

Role assigned to: sethfuzzy

Shoto Todoroki is a boy with a quirk allowing him to summon and control ice from his right side, and fire from his left side. He has a burn on his left side, left by an accident when he was younger. Shoto appears cold and determined at first glance, but in reality, he really does care for his friends. He has a grudge against his father, which fuels his determination. However, he is still kind, often visiting his sick mother, and seen worrying about his classmates.

Todoroki's voice should be in the medium to medium-low range, with a little bit of a rasp to it. He typically never displays high amounts of emotions, but there should certainly be a discernable difference. His English voice is is David Matranga.

  • (Angry, Desperate) If you wanna stop this, then stand up! Because I've just got one thing to say to you! Never forget who you want to become!

  • (Determined, Resentful) Never using my bastard of a father's Quirk... No.. By rising to the top without using it... I'll have denied him everything.

  • (Inspired) I want it, too. I'll be a hero!

All Might- MHA

Role assigned to: PeeJ

Toshinori Yagi, also known as All Might, is a pro hero that has super strength. He has two forms: One where he is normal, skinny, and sickly, and another where is is strong, heroic, and has lots of muscles. All Might is a very stoic and dependable figure, always inspiring others to do their best. He is the mentor to Midoriya, and is always encouraging him. While he knows that he has to be realistic sometimes, he often pushes himself past his limits.

All Might's voice should be in the low to very low range, and when in his muscle form, sound heroic and boisterous. However, in his sickly form, he sounds a little more shaky, and not nearly as energetic. The first line should be read in the heroic voice, the third line should be read in the shaky voice, and the second line is up for interpretation. All Might's English voice is Chris Sabat.

  • (Reassuring, Heroic) It's fine now. Why? Because I am here!

  • (Stately, Teaching) I smile to show the pressure of heroes and to trick the fear inside of me.

  • (Melancholy, Realistically) It's not bad to dream. But you also have to consider what's realistic.

While we mostly do dubs of pre-existing comics for our channel, we also often have our artists make comics for us, whether it be because someone wants to see it done, or we just decide it would be an interesting concept! As with everything else, we do not/cannot pay our artists. You may be both a voice actor and an artist of course, so give it all you've got! Please link an example here to any comics that you've made.
