Rebellious Voices is a voice group consisting of two branches. Hope's Peak Voices is based on the Danganronpa series, spanning across Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair and Killing Harmony. Voices of Mementos is based on the Persona series, currently only covering Persona 5 + Royal & Scramble at a later date.
What exactly will this entail? As well as the typical memes, comic dubs and other videos you'll see all over the place, I want to dub more longer comics and even certain interactions from the game, and scenes from the anime, some of which focusing more on the backstory of a specific character or two. Of course, I want everybody involved to have an equal part in voicing their character to really bring them to life. Now, let's get onto what I'll be looking for within auditions.
- The first point is that imitation isn't the main factor in this. Like other audition processes, I'll be looking for passion and emotion over everything else, but of course, you'll at least have to sound somewhat like the character. Use references if you aren't sure, but feel free to give your own interpretation!
- 2/3 takes of each line please!
- Mic quality is going to be another factor here that'll effect whether I shortlist an auditon or not. You don't have to have the greatest mic, because mine isn't the best either, but as long as I can't hear any white noise or background noise, you'll be good to go.
- You can audition for as many characters as you like, however, in most circumstances the most you will be accepted for is two characters.
- Most of all, have fun! As well as being a dedicated group to getting content out, I want there to be something for everyone. There will be a Discord server set-up closer to the deadline and joining it will be a requirement.
With this current audition process, the characters to which you see here are currently without a voice actor, which is why there won't be that many to choose from. However, this is because of a refresh within the voice group after many weeks of myself not being inactive enough, and seeing who would be staying on board. I hope that in the process you choose to audition, I hope you have a wonderful time doing so and potentially, you can join our fantastic group of voice actors.

Yusuke’s entire life’s passion is comprised of and surrounded by art. He searches for the aesthetic everywhere in his surroundings, from people to places. He sees every opportunity or challenge presented to him as a way to broaden his horizons, and primarily considers how it will benefit him greatly as an artist. Despite his eccentricities, Yusuke is incredibly level-headed and, in many ways, is the most mature of the group. He sees no use in panicking or getting nervous, as it does nothing to help the situation at hand. He is usually polite when dealing with others, particularly when compared to the vulgar Ryuji, condescending Morgana and passive-aggressive Akechi. However, he tends to be more sincere when dealing with subjects he admires from an aesthetic standpoint. For example, he is very direct and respectful when he approaches Ann out of a desire to paint her. However, this sincerity can make him appear pushy, showing that he has a very stubborn, headstrong side, which comes out when he is very inspired.
"We're the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. We've come to answer the cries of the oppressed."
"This is my other self! Goemon!"
"I am not Madarame. I won't be stained by desire. After all. I can see hope. If I am lost, they will extend their hands. If I am wrong, they will chastise me. ...As long as I have my rays of hope to guide me, I will be fine."
Sojiro is serious and a bit cold to the protagonist in the beginning, begrudgingly taking him in as a favor to a friend. Like many characters in the beginning of the story, he is cautious of him due to his probation, even stating that he will do very little if the protagonist gets himself into trouble. He is a rather cynical person, warning the protagonist that he should be careful who his friends are and chastising him for getting involved in the affairs of others, even if he was trying to do the right thing. However, Sojiro seems to have a soft spot for cats, as he instantly changed his mind about throwing Morgana out of the house, after hearing him meow, claiming that he was just too damn cute. He also made him something to eat right away, despite claiming that feeding him was the protagonist's responsibility.
"I won't ask you to work for free. If you agree to help me, then... I'll teach you how to make the perfect cup of coffee."
"I thought my pick-up lines were the best in town, but not a single one worked on her... Heh..."
Hifumi is a young lady who attends Kosei High School. She holds the championship title in the Female Shogi League. Her appearance has gained her attention as the "too beautiful shogi player." She practices hard and gives interviews every day for the sake of her mother and for the world of shogi. She is widely disliked for suspicions of fixing her matches-rumors that turn out to be mostly true, as while she is innocent, her mother bribes her competitors. The protagonist meets Hifumi in a church located in Kanda.
"I feel... a gambler's spirit emanating from you."
"But I'm sick of being treated like an idol. I have to show them what I'm made of!"
Takemi is a somewhat eccentric young woman. She dresses like a punk and has a morbid sense of humor, reacting with glee when she gets the protagonist to try out a new medicine, watching him squirm. Due to her bad reputation, she can easily tell when one of her patients has an ulterior motive, as those kind of patients are all she gets. Her reputation as "the Plague" has made her highly cynical and insecure, claiming that she's only good for making experimental drugs, even after being praised for curing a young girl.
"I don't want the general public to know about my original medicines. So you're strictly prohibited from disclosing what happens here to anyone... Understood?"
Chihaya is a cheerful woman with a lovely atmosphere about her, with a rumor of her fortunes being infallible. This is revealed to be accurate, but she cannot predict the effect that her fortunes themselves have on the world, and doing her side quests cause her readings to change. She is initially frustrated and suspicious about this, but soon comes to realize that this implies a better world than she had thought. She has a tendency to lapse into her native rural accent if sufficiently upset and shouting.
"Whaaaaaat!? The sequence of arcana has completely changed!"
"Oh, I know... I'll read your fortune! Please, I beg you... I need to know if fate truly can be changed..."
"A-Anyway, let's just help each other out and get out of here, no matter what it takes! I'm gonna do my best for sure!"
"Whatever problems I might run into from now on, as long as I have her with me, everything will be okay. If there were any miracles, it wasn't because of me. It was because of her and everyone else."
"So I'm part of another totally unbelievable story... But this one is way more unbelievable than anything else up till now. Or...maybe it really isn't. I dunno, I feel like my mind has gone dumb..."
"You're right! Working together is super important... Of course, I dunno how I can be useful. I'll probably just weigh you all down..."
"If I get a chance, I'm gonna work super hard to chip in! When it comes to computers, you can count on me!"
"I shouldn't hide it forever, but it's difficult to tell everyone at this point. So, I understand where you're coming from... Keeping secrets can make you feel guilty."
"I can't show weakness in front of my classmates, and I've never had a friend on the same level as me..."
"I fuckin' hate the idea of being at the mercy of that goddamn bear... But what else can we do? Total pain in the ass, either way..."
"What!? You're not a little kid anymore, right? And you still don't have a hog!? God, you're such a fuckin' dweeb!"
"I couldn't help blocking your attack... B-But, there's no way I can fight you Junko. After all, I'm all you have... I'm the only one who understands you at all."
"So, um... It's okay, Junko. I'll bring back everyone's memories someday and I'll show you everyone's happiness...and their bonds... I'll show all that to you...and fill you with even more despair."
"I've gotten used to it, but... After three years...they think I'm still Junko. That makes me feel...despair."
"I am truly happy that someone has casually walked up to me to speak to me... This must be what it means to have classmates! I am very touched!"
"If I showed my fear, it would fill my people with despair... That is why...I had to wait in silence until rescue arrived. I actually think this situation is easier, since I can honestly feel fear for a change."
"However...expanding my knowledge like this is the duty every member of the royal family. And that is why I am interested in the occult, cults, and popular dramas!"
"That's quite alright... That determination of yours is a bright shining light that draws others to you..."
"If you are vexed by such trivial things, then your world is still very small. I will open up your world through anthropology...if you so desire."
"Anthropology is all about field work... Investigating in person is critical. References are important, but one's own experience is far more so."
Ann is a very kind and compassionate girl, enough for it to be noted by both Morgana and Sojiro Sakura. Years of isolation due to her looks has left her very withdrawn and with a belief she's lost her place in the world, but that doesn't stop her from opening up to the people close to her and making jokes. This is because she's learned not to care what other people think of her, a lesson taught to her by Shiho Suzui, who was her only friend before joining the Phantom Thieves. She is shown to be a good judge of character, as she was the first person able to look past the rumors of the protagonist and see him for who he really is. While not as bad as Ryuji, Ann is rather book dumb, doing poorly in every subject except English, which she mainly aces due to being bilingual. She can also be rather air-headed, particularly when it comes to her attempts to "strengthen her heart." Nevertheless, Ann is very smart in her own right. She is a good judge of character and has a keen eye for detail,
"Hey, um... Personas are the power of the heart, right? That means if my heart gets stronger, my Persona will too. So... I want to strengthen my heart. And I want to use that strength to help the people around me."
"Dance, Carmen!"
"I realized that personal relationships are something to be treasured. That's why I'm not going to run away anymore. I'll face myself head on. This time, it's my turn to help someone."
While appearing to be a cat, Morgana claims to be a human, and sticks with the team as he believes they'll be able to help him regain his true form. Morgana becomes irritated when he's called and being thought of as nothing more than a cat, as it lessens his sense of belonging; this is likely one of the reasons that instigated his heated relationship with Ryuji Sakamoto. Despite this, Morgana often meows, self-grooms, and has a great love for sushi. Despite his feminine name, Morgana declares himself to be male. He constantly attempts to be more masculine than he naturally is, disliking being seen as a cute cat and wishing to be viewed as manly and competent, which is where his overconfident and sassy personality comes from. Morgana is quite sassy, as he seems to enjoy teasing his teammates, especially Ryuji. In a twist of irony, Morgana shows a surprisingly gentlemanly side towards Ann Takamaki, whom he develops a crush on for her kindness, bravery and beauty. That being said, even she isn't safe from Morgana's smart remarks at times, which are usually directed towards her terrible acting skills.
"...Not letting that happen! Human hope is a desire too! You better not underestimate it! The Phantom Thieves will yield to no one, no matter who they are! Even if only one of us remains, we'll get back up and fight to the very end. And we'll definitely... definitely...! Take the world!"
"Zorro! Show your might!"
"Don't call me a cat! I am Morgana!"
Despite being the student council president, Makoto is an extremely unpopular student at Shujin Academy; due to her not doing anything to stop Suguru Kamoshida's abuse, she is considered by all the students to be an arrogant, selfish control freak who knew about the abuse but chose to do nothing about it because she only cared about getting a good letter of recommendation. While she does give off the impression of this during the Phantom Thieves' first few encounters with her, these rumors are ultimately revealed to be just that: rumors. In truth, the abuse outraged Makoto, but she didn't feel like she had the power to do anything about it. In fact, Makoto holds no real authority in the school, with her position merely making her a glorified tool for the principal to use however he sees fit. Feeling overshadowed by her highly successful older sister, Makoto has almost no sense of self-worth, and so has made a habit of keeping her nose down and doing what is expected of her. Her submissive nature is noted by Goro Akechi, who condescendingly refers to her as "the good-girl type of pushover."
"I may be a phantom thief, but that's no excuse for me to start ignoring my presidential duties."
"Charge, Johanna!"
"This time I'm not seeking anyone's praise, and I'm not trying to show off my intelligence. I simply want to fulfill my own personal goals and dreams."
Akechi is a high school student who conducts a detective business. His abilities as a detective have been widely acclaimed, since he not only has solved numerous cases, but is also able to deal with people from the investigation agency smoothly. His handsome features draw him public attention, and people comment on him as “The Second Advent of the Detective Prince.” Behind his popularity, however, he is quite lonely and yearns to be loved. He was abandoned by his father, subsequently lost his mother to suicide and never had close friends. He was passed around the foster care system as an orphan and has developed a far more jaded worldview than he initially lets on, even calling himself an unwanted child. He has a desperate desire to be acknowledged, which he is forthright about being the primary drive for his actions as a detective. He also has a narcissistic element to his personality, wishing for others to see him as a hero and those who oppose him as the villains. Akechi claims that he has carefully crafted his public image in the hopes that it would make people accept him. He has the public's support only if he upholds the pretense of being a charismatic idol detective, and his fans are quick to turn on him if he makes mistakes.
"Well, if there really are thieves like them out there, I believe they should be brought to justice in a court of law. Twisting other people's hearts by force... That's the worst thing any human could do."
"Now, Robin Hood!"
"Well, because I'm a psychic, of course. Haha, I'm only joking. In truth, I'm a rookie detective."
Sae is intelligent, professional and serious, although her actual maturity is debatable. A workaholic, Sae is very strict in both her work as prosecutor and guardian for her younger sister, Makoto, constantly telling her to focus on her studies and such. With many responsibilities, Sae is always working due to Japan's work pressure, and is very stressed and exhausted. She must care for Makoto, almost putting her in a single mother's role. Because of her father's death, Sae views the concept of justice as meaningless. This has made her hyper-competitive and obsessed with getting ahead, to the point of telling Makoto that success is all that matters in life. This is to her detriment, as it clouds her judgement and leads to her trusting all of the wrong people; throughout the investigation of the Phantom Thieves, she remains completely unaware that her boss is taking her for a complete fool and while she doesn't get along with Goro Akechi, she nevertheless trusts his judgement regarding the Phantom Thieves.
"...Then again, I am investigating a "thief who steals hearts." Very well. No matter how absurd it may seem, I'll reevaluate my stance on believing you for now. In return, speak the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. It's a fair deal. ...Is that acceptable?"
"This calling card was delivered to your latest target—the one you had decided would prove your innocence. It was addressed to "Sae Niijima." ...Myself. Now, explain everything to me."
Kawakami is a highly competent and professional teacher who never lets her ever-mounting stress and exhaustion show visibly in either of her jobs. She is laid-back and outspoken. While she initially acts very coldly towards the protagonist, this was because she thought he was a problem student and felt unsafe around him. After he stands up to Suguru Kamoshida, she realizes that he was given a poor reputation for no good reason and becomes far friendlier, showing her more compassionate and involved side.
"The way you opposed Mr. Kamoshida, I'd say that you're earnest and have a strong sense of justice. That being said... you called a maid service and requested me?"
"Being over half a day late on your first day...?"
Bullied, abused and ignored, Mishima is an isolated individual who craves freedom from his day-to-day tortures. Initially nervous and scared, once given a listening ear and a bit of support his excitable and loyal nature undoubtedly shines through. While his enthusiasm can become annoying, at times Mishima will still be hesitant and respectful, often apologizing for texting when he is sure the protagonist is busy. Mishima idolizes the protagonist as a cool superhero (likely viewing the protagonist as his "savior" from his abuse under Kamoshida). There are times when Mishima will cling to the protagonist, once saying he will never forgive the protagonist if he is left behind. This clinginess and other socially awkward behaviors is likely due to his past of social isolation as a victim of bullying.
"When will you stop running from the truth!? Phantom Thieves, can you hear us!?"
"I may not be able to change the world, but I can change myself."
Ohya is a paparazza in her mid-20s. She will write whatever story sells, even sometimes manipulating and twisting the information in her articles for the sake of clickbait and attention, and even if it means she does not have to take the time to properly research the truth. She used to be a more stringent journalist, but a story of hers was censored because of exposing the scandal of Masayoshi Shido's cohort and was permanently reassigned to entertainment and, more importantly, led to the disappearance and framing of her partner, Kayo Murakami. Ohya admits she does not enjoy writing entertainment articles about the latest fads, yet feels she does not have a choice and is unwilling to quit her profession.
"Hey, how 'bout we do this... You supply me with info on the Phantom Thieves... And I'll write articles based on what you tell me about them. You know, the Phantom Thieves who you love oh-so-much... Deal?"
Kasumi is a cheerful, elegant and friendly person with a seemingly perfect life, as she received a Shujin scholarship. She also appears to be quite clumsy and careless, as she is shown outright missing the mark at the batting cages even if her reflexes are usually excellent, and she lets her phone's battery run out while texting the protagonist. Despite the fact that she can cook, she is unpredictable and somewhat clumsy at it, since she isn't sure about the ingredients, and she often uses stamina replenishing food due to her gymnast tendencies. It's because of that she eats a lot, that she considers a "normal" amount for a gymnast like herself and she also has large lunch box to prove this.
"I think that helping people is a wonderful thing to be able to do. But, I can't really say that I like them. I don't believe the Phantom Thieves and their methods will reform the world or help others. In the end, I believe that is only something that you yourself can really solve."
Shido is a profoundly selfish, egotistical, and arrogant man with a savior complex. He is utterly self-assured of his fundamental righteousness, believing the simple fact that the Conspiracy is able to get away with its crimes without the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and their supernatural interference, combined with his own knowledge of the Metaverse, is a sign that he is favored by God. He despises anyone who tries to stop him from any of his desires, no matter how fleeting. He is also quite litigious, threatening to sue anyone who irritates him and has no qualms with blackmailing even the police into keeping their mouth shut. However, in spite of all the heinous things he does privately, he does make a good attempt in giving himself a public image and thus the public is completely oblivious to his true personality, as they only see him as the revolutionary politician that he pretends to be.
"Hey. Make this statement to the cops. 'This kid suddenly attacked me.' Got it? If you even try to say anything else, you know what'll happen to you, right?"
"There is no need for thieves in my mighty country... Only myself and the ones who revere me are needed."
