VOICE ACTORS NEEDED | HAPPILY NEVER AFTER | MYSTERY-ROMANTASY AUDIO DRAMA
Project Overview
HAPPILY NEVER AFTER
Voice Acting Casting Call
“The story ends. You begin.”
Hi! I'm currently casting voice actors for my original audio drama, Happily Never After!
Happily Never After is a dark fantasy mystery series set in a magical world where fairy tales aren't just stories—they're history.
The project is heavily character-driven, with a big focus on mystery, relationships, secrets, and figuring out what actually happened behind the stories everyone thinks they know.
This will be an audio drama, meaning there won't be traditional animation. The story will be told through voice acting, sound effects, music, and static/illustrated visuals. Because of that, expressive voice acting is especially important. You don't need to be a professional actor, but you should be comfortable portraying emotion through your voice alone.
THE STORY
Everspell Academy is a centuries-old magical boarding school for descendants of famous fairy-tale bloodlines.
Magic is completely normal in this world. Fairy tales are historical events, descendants inherit traits from their bloodlines, and everyone grows up knowing the stories their families came from.
Or at least... they think they do.
At seventeen, Kariyna Fable receives an invitation to Everspell three years later than she should have. That's already strange. The academy doesn't understand why.
Her bloodline test returns an ability the school has never seen before. Her family's records don't make sense. And the more Kariyna investigates, the more it becomes clear that the stories everyone has been taught may not be the complete truth.
Something happened a very long time ago. Someone wanted it forgotten.
And Kariyna may be connected to it.
The series follows Kariyna and the people she meets at Everspell as they uncover mysteries surrounding the academy, their bloodlines, and the history behind the stories they inherited.
And yes, there will be a LOT of secrets.
THE VIBE
Think:
Dark fantasy
Magical boarding school
Mystery/thriller
Fairy-tale mythology
Character drama
Friendships and rivalries
Slow-burn relationships
Hidden family histories
Lots of twists and red herrings
A mystery that gets bigger the more you investigate
The series takes inspiration from the feeling of things like Ever After High and The Inheritance Games, but the characters, world, lore, and stories are original.
The fairy tales used in HNA are also treated differently from the versions most people know. The characters aren't simply repeating the original stories. They are living in the aftermath of them.
The basic idea is:
The story ends. You begin.
THE CHARACTERS
There are a lot of characters in HNA, but this casting call is primarily focused on the main cast and recurring characters.
The main group currently consists of:
Kariyna Fable — narrator and main protagonist
Liesl White — son of Snow White
Aelias Chesire — son of the Cheshire Cat
Carsion Charming — son of Cinderella
Belair Rose — son of Aurora
Chaudont De Vil — son of Cruella De Vil
Beau — son of Belle and Beast
Caielan of Corona — descendant of Rapunzel
There are also many supporting characters with their own storylines, relationships, and secrets.
Character descriptions and audition lines will be provided for each role.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
I'm mainly looking for people who:
Are 14+
Can commit to the project long-term
Are comfortable with voice acting
Can record reasonably clear audio
Can take direction
Are willing to do multiple takes when needed
Can portray different emotions naturally
Are comfortable working with other voice actors
Are willing to communicate if they're unavailable or need more time
You do NOT need professional voice acting experience.
If you've never auditioned before but think you can fit a character, please audition anyway! I'm much more interested in whether your voice fits the character and whether you can portray their emotions than whether you already have a professional resume.
HOW DIRECTION WILL WORK
Once casting is finished, I'll be directing the project myself.
Before recording actual scenes, actors will receive:
Their character information
Scene context
The script
Emotional/acting notes when necessary
Pronunciation information for names or magical terms
Any relevant information about what is happening in the scene
I'll also be available for questions about how a line should be delivered.
If a take doesn't quite sound right, I'll give you direction and ask for another take. This isn't meant to be stressful or a "you did it wrong" thing. Sometimes a line works completely differently once you hear it out loud, especially in an audio drama.
For emotional scenes, I'll generally give context about what the character knows, what they're feeling, and what happened immediately before the scene rather than trying to micromanage every single word.
I want the performances to still feel natural to the actors.
RECORDING
This is an audio drama, so audio quality matters.
You don't need expensive equipment, but please make sure your recordings are:
Clear
Mostly free of background noise
Recorded somewhere reasonably quiet
Without music or sound effects over your voice
At a consistent volume
A phone microphone is completely fine for auditioning if that's what you have.
For the actual project, recording requirements may be discussed with the cast depending on what equipment everyone has.
AGE REQUIREMENT
You must be 14 or older to audition.
Some characters are younger than 14 in-universe, but that does NOT mean the actor needs to be that age.
For example, some younger characters may be voiced by older actors who can naturally portray a younger voice.
The main Everspell students are generally teenagers, while the story also includes younger characters and adults.
CONTENT / RATING
Happily Never After is intended for an older teen audience, around 16+.
The series deals with darker fantasy themes, mystery, family expectations, secrets, manipulation, danger, magical consequences, and some heavier emotional moments.
There may be frightening situations and characters being put in genuinely dangerous circumstances. However, the project is not intended to rely on excessive profanity, explicit sexual content, or graphic material. The darker tone comes primarily from the story, mystery, atmosphere, and consequences.
COMMITMENT
Please only audition if you think you'll be able to stay involved with the project.
HNA is planned as a longer-term project, and characters may appear across multiple episodes. That said, I completely understand that things happen. If you ever need to step away, the important thing is simply communicating that rather than disappearing.
Communication is much more important to me than being available 24/7.
AUDITIONS
Each character has their own audition lines designed to show different sides of their personality.
Please don't just read the lines in one emotionless take. The audition lines are specifically written to show different emotions, so have fun with them and make the character feel like an actual person.
You can submit multiple takes if you'd like to try different interpretations. You don't have to perfectly imitate the voice references. They're there to communicate the general sound and acting style I'm imagining for the character.
Your own interpretation is welcome.
MOST IMPORTANTLY...
I want this to be fun.
Happily Never After is a project I've been building because I genuinely love the characters and the world, and I want the people working on it to actually enjoy being part of it.
You don't need years of acting experience. If you hear a character and think, "Wait, I could play them," then audition. Maybe you'll end up becoming the voice I hear whenever I write that character. And maybe we'll get to tell this story together.
The story ends. You begin
Kariyna is the daughter of Aesop Fable and the narrator of the story. She's the only girl in the main group and eventually catches the attention of all seven boys, though each of them falls for her at their own pace and for their own reasons.
Mysteries follow her everywhere she goes, but she always has a way to find out the truth. She’s incredibly expressive and isn’t afraid to say what she thinks. Rules don’t apply to her if they’re in the way of her search for the truth.
Voice directions: A medium-high vocal tone, very expressive and able to show a large range of emotion. She will portray a variety of expressions in the show, and it’s important to be able to express feelings with your voice without visuals.

1. Curious / Excited
"Wait, wait, wait—go back. You said the archive was sealed for three hundred years, right? Then why is there fresh ink on the page? No, don't tell me it's a restoration. I know what old ink looks like. Look at this. The letters are still wet. Someone has been in here."
2. Frustrated / Determined
"Everyone keeps telling me to stop asking questions. Do you know how suspicious that makes you sound? 'Don't open that door.' 'Don't read that book.' 'You weren't supposed to find this.' Okay! Great! Now I absolutely have to know what's behind the door, what's in the book, and why nobody wanted me to find it."
3. Comedic / Overwhelmed
"I have been at this school for three days. Three. And somehow I've already broken into an archive, been accused of being a mistake by a magical scroll, nearly fallen off a pegasus, and apparently acquired seven people who think I'm going to solve every mystery that happens within a five-mile radius. I don't even know where my dorm is yet!"
4. Vulnerable / Quiet
"What if they're right? What if I really wasn't supposed to be here? Everyone knows their family history. Everyone knows where they came from, what their story is supposed to be. And then there's me. I don't even know why the Scroll wrote my name. I don't know what Narrative means. I don't even know who Vitoria is. Maybe... maybe there's a reason nobody remembers me."
5. High Stakes / Defiant
"No. I'm not leaving. You can lock the door, destroy the records, erase my name from every book in this school—but I'm still going to find out what happened. Because somebody spent seventeen years making sure I wouldn't ask these questions. And now that I finally can? I'm not going to stop."

Carsion is the son of Cinderella and grew up as one of Everspell’s most famous legacy descendants. He’s charming, confident, social, and very aware of the impression he makes on other people.
He has a playful personality and enjoys teasing the people around him, but there’s more beneath his easy confidence than he initially lets on. He understands what it’s like to have everyone think they already know his story, which is part of why Kariyna catches his attention so quickly.
Voice directions: A medium vocal tone with a naturally charismatic and playful delivery. He should sound confident and comfortable in conversation, with strong comedic timing and the ability to shift into sincerity when the situation becomes serious. His charm should feel natural rather than overly rehearsed.
Voice References: Karma Akabane (Assassination Classroom), Alistair Wonderland (Ever After High), Arthur Pendragon (Fate/Grand Order)
1. Charming / Playful
"Okay, technically, yes, I knew there was a rule against doing this. But in my defense, the rule was written in really tiny letters, and I have a hereditary condition that makes me extremely bad at reading tiny letters."
2. Confident / Teasing
"Oh, come on. You really thought I was going to let you walk into the most suspicious room in the entire academy by yourself? I'm offended. I may make questionable decisions, but at least I make them with friends."
3. Serious / Reflective
"People think being a Charming means everything comes easily. Like we wake up knowing exactly what to say, exactly how to act, exactly how our stories are supposed to end. But that's not really how it works. Sometimes being the person everyone expects you to be is the hardest part."
4. Hurt / Honest
"I joke when I'm uncomfortable. I smile when I'm nervous. I flirt when I don't know what else to say. It's easier that way. People don't ask questions when you're making them laugh. And honestly? Sometimes I don't want them to."
5. Urgent / Courageous
"Everybody out. Now. Yes, I'm serious. Whatever that thing is, it just moved. So unless someone has suddenly developed a very convincing explanation for why the ancient magical artifact is breathing, I strongly recommend we stop standing around and staring at it."

Liesl is the son of Snow White and one of the most recognizable legacy students at Everspell. He grew up under enormous expectations because of his family name, and everyone already has an idea of who he’s supposed to be.
He’s kind, thoughtful, and generally tries to do what’s expected of him, but he’s more perceptive than people give him credit for. He’s drawn to Kariyna because she’s one of the few people who doesn’t seem to care about the story everyone has already written for him. His feelings develop slowly, especially as he begins questioning the expectations placed on him.
Voice directions: A medium vocal tone with a gentle, somewhat reserved quality. His voice should feel warm and thoughtful without becoming overly soft. He should be capable of sounding confident when needed, but there should always be an underlying sense of someone who thinks carefully before he speaks.
Voice References: Hunter (The Owl House), Jim Hawkins (Treasure Planet)
1. Calm / Thoughtful
"People think knowing your story makes everything easier. It doesn't. It just means everyone already has an opinion about you before you've even opened your mouth. They look at my name and think they know who I am. Sometimes I wonder what they'd think if they actually listened."
2. Lighthearted / Teasing
"You're seriously going to sneak into the restricted archive wearing that? Kariyna, I'm not judging you. I'm just saying that if we're going to break school rules, maybe we shouldn't look like we're actively announcing that we're breaking school rules."
3. Frustrated / Angry
"I'm tired of hearing what I'm supposed to be. I'm supposed to be kind. I'm supposed to be brave. I'm supposed to be perfect. I'm supposed to be Snow White's son, so apparently I have to spend my entire life proving that I'm worthy of the name. What if I don't want to be any of those things?"
4. Vulnerable / Sincere
"I know what it feels like to have people decide who you are before they know you. That's why I believe you. Maybe I don't understand everything you're saying yet, but... I believe that something happened to your family. And if you want to find out what it was, you shouldn't have to do it alone."
5. Urgent / Protective
"Kariyna, listen to me. Whatever is behind that door doesn't want you to find it. That's obvious. But we can still find out why. Just—promise me you won't run in there alone. Whatever happens next, we're doing this together."

Chaudont is the son of Cruella De Vil and comes from one of Everspell’s most notorious legacy families. Unlike the reputation attached to his family, Chaudont is not interested in becoming the person everyone expects him to be.
He’s confident, observant, and has a naturally sharp sense of humor. He can come across as intimidating when people first meet him, but underneath his controlled exterior is someone who cares deeply about the people he allows close to him. He’s especially intrigued by Kariyna because she doesn’t treat his family history as a reason to judge him.
Voice directions: A medium-low vocal tone with a controlled, polished quality. His delivery should be confident and slightly sharp, with the ability to become warmer and more vulnerable in quieter moments. He should sound composed without being emotionless, and his voice should carry a subtle elegance.
Voice References: Keith Kogane, Chuuya Nakahara, Vil Schoenheit (Twisted Wonderland–English Fandub Version)
1. Dry / Amused
"You know, most people have the decency to look nervous when they're trespassing somewhere they're not supposed to be. You? You're smiling. That's either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. I'm still deciding which."
2. Irritated / Defensive
"Don't confuse me defending someone with me being nice. I'm not nice. I just happen to dislike watching people get pushed around because of a reputation they didn't earn."
3. Vulnerable / Honest
"Everyone expects me to be exactly like her. They hear 'De Vil' and suddenly they know everything about me. Cruel. Manipulative. Heartless. It's almost funny, really. They don't even realize how much effort it takes to become the person they already decided I am."
4. Soft / Romantic
"You don't have to explain yourself to me, Kariyna. Not right now. You don't have to know what your bloodline means or why the Scroll waited seventeen years. You don't have to have an answer for everything. Just... let someone stand beside you for once."
5. Angry / Intense
"Tell me where she is. No, don't give me another excuse. Don't tell me it's complicated. You erased her name. You hid her records. You knew exactly what you were doing. So tell me where she is—or I'll find out myself."
*Say something you think would fit*
Aelias is the son of the Cheshire Cat and is easily one of the strangest students at Everspell. He’s unpredictable, mischievous, and almost impossible to read. He enjoys making people question whether he’s joking, serious, or both.
He’s extremely intelligent and notices more than he lets people know. Aelias is fascinated by mysteries and is one of the first people to take Kariyna’s situation seriously. He develops an unusual friendship with her based on curiosity, secrets, and the shared realization that something about Everspell doesn’t add up.
Voice directions: A medium vocal tone with a naturally unpredictable delivery. His voice should be expressive and playful, but capable of becoming calm and unsettling without warning. He should have strong comedic timing and be able to make ordinary lines sound suspicious, mischievous, or strangely significant.
Voice References: Lelouch vi Britannia (Code Geass), Jax (The Amazing Digital Circus), Kokichi Oma (Danganronpa)
1. Playful / Mischievous
"Did you really think I wouldn't notice? That's adorable. You walked into the room, lied three times, looked at the door seventeen times, and then tried to hide the evidence under your sleeve. Honestly, I would've been disappointed if you were better at this."
2. Comedic / Chaotic
"Okay, before everyone starts yelling, I would like to establish that I had a plan. It was a very good plan, actually. It was just... slightly shorter than expected. And significantly more flammable."
3. Quiet / Perceptive
"Something's wrong. No, I don't mean with the room. I mean with the story. Everyone keeps repeating the same version, but nobody can explain where it came from. That's usually the part people forget to question."
4. Vulnerable / Serious
"You know what's funny? Everyone thinks being impossible to read is the same thing as not feeling anything. It's not. Sometimes it's just easier to make people wonder what you're thinking than to let them know."
5. Dangerous / Controlled
"Go ahead. Lie to me again. I want to hear it. I want to know how many times you'll repeat the same story before you realize I've already figured out the truth."
*Say something you think would fit*
Belair is the son of Aurora and comes from one of Everspell’s most recognizable royal bloodlines. He’s quiet, laid-back, and often seems like he could fall asleep in the middle of a conversation.
Despite his sleepy demeanor, Belair is observant and surprisingly perceptive. He tends to notice things that everyone else overlooks because he’s usually sitting back and watching rather than participating. His feelings for Kariyna develop gradually, beginning with simple curiosity and becoming something more meaningful over time.
Voice directions: A medium-low vocal tone with a soft, relaxed, slightly sleepy quality. His delivery should be slower and more laid-back than the other boys, but never completely monotone. He should be able to communicate subtle amusement, annoyance, and affection without needing exaggerated changes in volume.
Voice References: Shikamaru Nara (Naruto), Silver (Twisted Wonderland–softer and sleepier), Slaine Troyard
1. Sleepy / Casual
"Can we investigate that after breakfast? No? Okay. Fine. I'll come. But if this turns into another three-hour mystery involving a cursed hallway, I'm going back to bed."
2. Dry / Amused
"I've been awake for twelve minutes, and somehow you've already found a secret passage. I don't know whether to be impressed or concerned."
3. Observant / Serious
"You've been staring at that page for five minutes. Whatever you're looking for isn't written there, is it?"
4. Vulnerable / Quiet
"I don't talk much because I don't always know what to say. Everyone assumes that means I don't care. That's not true. Sometimes I care so much that I'd rather wait until I know what I'm saying before I say anything at all."
5. Urgent / Determined
"Wait. Everyone stop. Listen. There's something behind the wall. And it's not the building settling. It's been following us."
*Say something you think would fit*
Beau is the son of Belle and Beast and comes from a family known for its intelligence, curiosity, and love of knowledge. He’s thoughtful, analytical, and tends to approach problems by trying to understand them before acting.
He can be somewhat reserved around people he doesn’t know well, but he becomes much more comfortable once he has something to talk about. Kariyna’s mystery immediately interests him, particularly because there are so many unanswered questions surrounding her bloodline. His feelings for her develop naturally through their shared curiosity and growing trust.
Voice directions: A medium vocal tone with a gentle, intelligent quality. His delivery should feel thoughtful and sincere, with a slightly awkward quality during emotionally uncomfortable situations. He should be able to sound analytical without becoming stiff or overly formal.
Voice References: Takashi Natsume (Natsume’s Book of Friends), Ashe Ubert (Fire Emblem: Three Houses), Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls)
1. Analytical / Curious
"That's not possible. The inscription says the artifact was created before the academy existed, but the magical signature belongs to a technique that wasn't developed until at least two centuries later. Either the record is wrong... or someone changed it."
2. Mildly Exasperated
"I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm, but perhaps we should consider a very simple possibility before breaking another school rule: we could read the instructions. No? Fine. I tried."
3. Frustrated / Passionate
"That's exactly the problem! You keep saying the records are reliable because they've always been reliable. That's a fallacy! If nobody is willing to question the records, how are we ever supposed to find out what actually happened?"
4. Vulnerable / Quiet
"I know I come across as distant. I'm aware of it. I just... I don't always know how to be around people who expect me to know everything. I'm good at books. I'm good at research. People are considerably harder to understand."
5. Shocked / Urgent
"Don't touch it. Seriously. Don't. That symbol is a containment mark. If you break it, whatever was sealed inside won't just be released—it'll know exactly who released it."

Narrator
MAJOR ROLE
The Narrator is one of the most important voices in Happily Never After. They guide the audience through the story, introduce important moments, and help connect the events of each episode together. The narration isn't just there to explain what's happening — the Narrator should feel like a real presence within the story, with their own tone, personality, and emotional weight.
This role requires someone who is comfortable carrying longer sections of dialogue and shifting their delivery depending on the scene. Some narration will be mysterious or ominous, while other moments may be warm, reflective, curious, or even playful. Because this is an audio drama, being able to make the audience visualize a scene through your voice is especially important.
Voice directions: A clear, expressive voice with strong storytelling ability. The exact vocal range isn't as important as being able to control tone, emotion, pacing, and intensity. You should be comfortable making narration sound natural rather than simply "reading" it, and be able to make important lines feel meaningful without overacting.
Voice References: The Narrator (The Owl House), Stanley (Gravity Falls), The Narrator (The Stanley Parable), various storybook/fairy-tale narrators
Narrator Audition Lines
Mysterious: “There are stories we tell because we remember them, and there are stories we remember because someone made sure we never forgot them. Sometimes, those are the same story. Sometimes, they aren't.”
Warm/Reflective: “For a moment, Kariyna forgot about the Scroll, the strange archive, and every question she'd been carrying since she arrived. She was just standing beneath the lights, surrounded by people who were beginning to feel a little less like strangers.”
Ominous: “The problem with finding an answer is that sometimes the answer has been waiting for you to find it. And sometimes, it has been waiting for you to look away.”
Curious/Playful: “Of course, this would have been the perfect time to follow the rules. Kariyna, however, had never been particularly interested in doing things the easy way.”
Emotional/Serious: “Somewhere along the way, the story stopped being about what had happened before. It became about what would happen next, and whether anyone would be brave enough to change it.”
*Say something you think would fit*
Caielan is the descendant of Rapunzel and one of the more openly friendly members of the group. He has a naturally warm personality and tends to give people the benefit of the doubt, even when everyone else is suspicious.
He’s energetic, friendly, and genuinely interested in other people. Unlike some of the other legacy descendants, Caielan doesn’t seem particularly interested in maintaining a perfect image. He becomes interested in Kariyna because he finds her fascinating and wants to understand her rather than simply understand the mystery surrounding her.
Voice directions: A medium vocal tone with a warm, youthful, and naturally expressive quality. His voice should sound friendly and approachable, with plenty of enthusiasm when he gets excited. He should be capable of sincere emotional moments without losing his natural optimism.
Voice References: Adrien Agreste (Miraculous Ladybug), Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
1. Bright / Friendly
"Okay! So! I've never been in a secret underground archive before, which is actually kind of exciting. Terrifying, obviously. But mostly exciting. We're going to be fine! Probably. Ninety percent sure."
2. Awkward / Funny
"Wait, you thought I was following you? I mean... I was following you. But in a completely normal, friendly way! Not a creepy way. I promise. Wow, that sounded significantly creepier than I intended."
3. Sincere / Compassionate
"You don't have to convince me that something is wrong. I can see that it is. And I don't think you should have to prove that you're worth believing just because your story is different from everyone else's."
4. Hurt / Emotional
"I know everyone thinks I'm the optimistic one. The guy who always sees the good in people. And I do! I really do. But sometimes... sometimes I get tired of being the person who has to believe everything is going to be okay when I'm scared too."
5. Brave / Determined
"Okay. I'm scared. Really scared, actually. But you're going in there, and I'm not letting you do that alone. So let's go. Whatever's waiting for us, we'll figure it out when we get there."

Hanna is a descendant of Hansel and one half of a notoriously competitive pair with Gienno. She's only ten years old, but she's already spent much of her childhood learning about magical forests, creatures, and exploration through her family's traditions.
Hanna is energetic, stubborn, and extremely confident in her own abilities. She and Gienno absolutely cannot stand each other, and neither of them is willing to admit when the other is right. Despite their constant arguments, they're both talented young field assistants and have a surprising amount of knowledge about the magical world.
Voice directions: A high, energetic child vocal tone with a lot of personality. She should sound confident, expressive, and occasionally bratty without becoming obnoxious. Her delivery should be fast and reactive, especially when arguing with Gienno, while still being capable of genuine excitement and vulnerability.
Voice References: Powder (Arcane), Dahlia (Bob's Burgers), Frosta (She-Ra), Vanellope (Wreck-It Ralph)
1. Competitive / Annoyed
"OH, COME ON! I told you that trail was going north! You said it was east, and now we're lost because you refused to listen to me! Don't you dare say I told you so when we get eaten by a forest monster!"
2. Excited / Fascinated
"Wait—wait—wait! Look at its footprints! Those are fresh! See the three little marks here? That means it's young. Which means the adult has to be nearby. We should follow it! ...What? Why are you looking at me like that? I know what I'm doing!"
3. Defensive / Hurt
"I didn't mess it up! I didn't! I checked the map twice! You don't get to blame me just because something went wrong. You're always waiting for me to make a mistake."
4. Proud / Triumphant
"Ha! I knew it! Did you hear that? I knew it! I told you the creature was hiding underneath the roots! Maybe next time you'll listen to me before you decide I'm 'just a kid.'"
5. Scared but Trying to Be Brave
"Okay... okay. Don't panic. We're lost, but that's fine. We've been lost before. And we're not alone. There's got to be a way back. ...Gienno? Please tell me you know where we are."
*Say something you think would fit*
Gienno is a descendant of Hansel and Hanna's longtime rival. At only ten years old, he's already spent years learning about magical forests, creatures, and exploration through his family's traditions.
He's adventurous, stubborn, and frequently convinced that he's the most competent person in the room. He and Hanna constantly argue, compete, and attempt to prove that the other is wrong. Despite their rivalry, they're both highly capable young field assistants.
Voice directions: A youthful child vocal tone with a slightly dry and energetic delivery. He should sound adventurous and confident without sounding like an older teenager. His voice should be capable of quick comedic reactions, stubborn arguments, and genuine excitement.
Voice References: Greg Heffley (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Gumball (The Amazing World of Gumball), Mowgli (The Jungle Book)
1. Annoyed / Competitive
"I knew you were going to say that. You always say that. 'I told you so!' Congratulations, Hanna. You were right about one thing. Please enjoy the experience because it probably won't happen again."
2. Excited / Adventurous
"Are you kidding? We're not turning around! Do you have any idea how rare this creature is? People spend YEARS trying to find one, and we just found its tracks! This is our chance!"
3. Defensive / Angry
"I didn't steal your map! I just… borrowed it. Okay, technically I borrowed it without asking. But you weren't using it! Stop looking at me like that."

Forbes is one of the three Pig cousins and is considerably more expressive than Brix. He's energetic, emotional, and often the first person to react when something goes wrong.
Despite his occasional nervousness, Forbes is brave when it matters. He's loyal to his family and friends and tends to throw himself into situations before fully thinking them through.
Voice directions: A medium-high youthful vocal tone with a highly expressive delivery. He should be able to move quickly between excitement, panic, frustration, and sincerity. His reactions should feel natural and energetic without becoming overwhelming.
Voice References: Zenitsu (Demon Slayer), Connie Springer (Attack on Titan)
1. Energetic / Excited
"Okay, okay, hear me out! I know this sounds completely insane, but that's exactly why it might work. Nobody would expect us to try something this ridiculous, which means we might actually catch them off guard!"
2. Nervous / Rambling
"I don't think this is a good idea. Actually, I know this isn't a good idea. I knew it wasn't a good idea when we started, and I definitely know it isn't a good idea now that there's something growling at us from the hallway, but we're already here, so..."
3. Frustrated / Defensive
"I am trying! I'm doing my best, okay? Just because I get nervous doesn't mean I'm useless. I can still help. I just need everyone to stop yelling at me long enough for me to think!"
4. Soft / Sincere
"I know I joke around a lot, but I'm serious about this. You guys are my family. I don't care if we're arguing or driving each other crazy five minutes from now, if something happens to you, I'm going to be there."
5. Brave / Terrified
"I'm scared. But I'm still going. I don't know what's in there, and I don't know if we're ready for it, but I'm not going to stand here and watch everyone else go in without me. If we're doing this, we're doing it together."

Caitrionia Charming
SUPPORTING CHARACTER
Caitrionia is the daughter of Cinderella and a member of one of Everspell's most famous legacy families. She grew up surrounded by expectations about how a Charming is supposed to behave and what kind of image she should maintain.
She's polished, intelligent, and generally composed, but there's more uncertainty beneath her perfect exterior than she likes people to see. Caitrionia wants to figure out who she is outside of her family's reputation.
Voice directions: A medium vocal tone with a soft, composed, and thoughtful quality. She should sound naturally elegant without sounding overly formal. Her delivery should be able to communicate subtle insecurity beneath an otherwise confident exterior.
Voice References: Lumine (Genshin Impact), Hiyori (Noragami), Sophie (Howl's Moving Castle)
1. Polished / Composed
"There's a certain way you're expected to behave when you're a Charming. You learn it very young. How to speak, how to dress, how to smile, how to make people feel like everything is perfectly under control even when it isn't. People call it elegance, but sometimes I think it's just another word for never letting anyone see you struggle."
2. Lightly Annoyed / Controlled
"Yes, I know what everyone thinks. I'm a Charming, so obviously I must have everything figured out. I'm supposed to be graceful, intelligent, successful, and completely confident in every decision I make. It's almost impressive how much people can assume about someone based on a last name."
3. Frustrated / Emotional
"I'm tired of being compared to my family. I know they're proud of me, and I know they mean well, but sometimes I feel like I'm being measured against a story that was finished before I was even born. What am I supposed to do when everything I've accomplished is treated like another chapter in someone else's story?"
4. Vulnerable / Quiet
"I don't actually know what I want yet. There, I said it. Everyone else seems so certain about who they're supposed to become, and I'm standing here pretending I have some grand plan because admitting that I don't would mean admitting that maybe the person everyone expects me to be isn't the person I want to become."
5. Firm / Determined
"I don't want to destroy my family's legacy. I don't want to reject everything they built just to prove that I'm different. I just want the chance to add something of my own to it. If I'm going to carry the Charming name, then I want people to remember me for what I chose to do with it, not simply for what everyone else did before me."

Not sure which character you want to audition for? That's completely fine! Voice Fit is for people who want to audition for Happily Never After but aren't sure which role would suit their voice best.
For this audition, you won't be auditioning for one specific character. Instead, you'll perform a selection of lines with different emotions, personalities, and delivery styles. After hearing your audition, the casting team may reach out and recommend a character whose voice we think would fit you particularly well.
You don't need to know which character you want beforehand. Just focus on showing your natural voice and your range as a voice actor. You may be considered for a named character, supporting character, or another role depending on your audition.
Voice directions: Don't worry about trying to imitate a specific character. We want to hear what YOU sound like. Show as much range as you're comfortable with, especially when switching between emotions. Natural acting, clear delivery, and the ability to make dialogue feel believable are more important than having a "perfect" voice.
Voice References: None required — this audition is specifically meant to help us determine what roles your voice fits best.
Voice Fit Audition Lines
Friendly/Excited: “Wait, you're telling me you've never been here before? Oh, you have to come with me. There's so much you haven't seen yet!”
Sarcastic/Playful: “Right. Because obviously the best possible solution is to break into a restricted archive in the middle of the night. Brilliant plan. Absolutely no flaws whatsoever.”
Angry/Confrontational: “You knew this whole time, didn't you? You knew something was wrong, and you just stood there pretending everything was normal!”
Nervous/Frightened: “I don't think we're supposed to be here. Actually, I'm pretty sure we're definitely not supposed to be here. Can we please leave before something notices us?”
Quiet/Vulnerable: “I keep telling everyone that I'm fine because it's easier than explaining that I don't actually know what I'm supposed to do anymore.”
Confident/Determined: “Whatever happened before we got here, I'm not letting it happen again. If there's an answer somewhere in this school, we're going to find it.”
Mysterious/Serious: “You keep asking what happened to her. Maybe the better question is why everyone worked so hard to make sure nobody remembered.”

The Ensemble is for anyone who wants to be part of Happily Never After without necessarily taking on one of the larger named roles. Ensemble actors will primarily portray unnamed characters throughout the series, such as students, teachers, townspeople, background characters, or anyone else who may appear when the story needs them.
For example, Episode 1 includes six unnamed students and two staff members who need voices. As the series continues, ensemble actors may be called upon for new background characters, crowd scenes, brief speaking roles, or other parts that come up during production.
This is also a flexible role, meaning ensemble actors may be contacted whenever their voice is needed for a scene. You don't need to have a huge vocal range or years of voice acting experience — being reliable, expressive, and comfortable playing different small characters is what matters most.
Voice directions: A natural and flexible speaking voice. You should be comfortable changing your delivery slightly between different characters and taking direction when needed. Clear audio and believable acting are more important than having a specific "character voice."
Important: You may be cast as Ensemble even if you auditioned for another role, depending on casting needs. If you do NOT want to be considered for Ensemble unless you specifically audition for it, please state that clearly in your audition.
Voice References: None required.
Ensemble Audition
For this audition, perform each line as if you're a different unnamed character. You can change your voice naturally between them, but you don't need to create exaggerated voices.
Excited Student: “Did you hear? The Scroll actually wrote a new name yesterday. Apparently it hasn't done that in years!”
Confused Student: “Wait, you mean she's seventeen? Then why would the school even let her in now?”
Annoyed Student: “Can everyone please stop talking? Some of us are actually trying to study.”
Curious Student: “I heard there's another restricted archive underneath the old library. I don't know if it's true, but apparently nobody's allowed anywhere near it.”
Staff Member — Professional: “Everyone, please return to your assigned classrooms. Whatever happened in the archive is being handled by the faculty.”
Staff Member — Urgent: “Nobody touches the Scroll. Step away from it immediately and wait for instructions.”
