Independent Animated Series "Chance" - whimsical and dark
Project Overview
Chance is a story meant to be deep, a little dark, and subversive. They may be cute little bugs but they face very real problems. This film is also not made exclusively for a kid audience, though it does not delve too deep into adult content.
Our vision also includes creating something progressive and with much needed representation. That is why I ask any auditioners to be either LGBT+, a person of color, or disabled. :o)
The style is inspired by Ferngully, Don Bluth, and a bunch of other older animated stuff that has that eerie vibe. If you're interested in this kind of stuff, we'd love for you to be part of our project!
The film is going to be released in at least 5 parts over months or even a year. The first episode is planned to release within the next week. This is a project to have fun with!

Dusk Cast, thank you everyone!
It was extremely difficult to cast this role. All of these auditions brought something unique and incredible to the table. I had no idea it would be this hard. I thank each and every one of you for showing interest and taking the time to audition. I will be keeping many of you in mind as we progress with our projects! -

turns out audio engineering is not easy for me. if you're interested in collaborating on an independent animated series we would love to have you! All the music, vocals and sounds would be up to you to mix and make cohesive. It's a plus if you like to figure out sound effects :o)
This first part is going to be a little over 5 minutes long with 4 music tracks and 5 character vocals. I'd give you all the creative freedom pretty much seeing as I know nothing about music and sound. Thank you for your interest!

The antagonist, a butterfly. He’s invasive confidence. He’s charming in his relaxed/gruff manner of articulation. Things have come easy to him so he expects that in his conversations, taking his time and keeping people waiting for his next word with dramatic pauses as he considers, knowing no one would interrupt him. Imaginative vocabulary, illustrative of his keenness for innovation and his judgment of what’s valuable and what’s not. He knows he's evil and deceiving and loves it.
[You've just been debating with a character who is relentlessly questioning your actions and integrity. The character just hit a sensitive spot for you with something he said, unintentionally bringing up a past you hate to remember. Up until now, you've been confident and smug in the fact that this bug would have a change of mind eventually and side with you. But now you need to put an end to his defiance. You say this veiled threat dismissively, leaving immediately after. This should be delivered in about the character's normal tone of voice with a bit of menace. You can't be too evil because you are in public.]
It’s a luminescent name, Chance. Suits you. You wouldn't want the name ‘Trouble’ to be the name that bugs remember.[You are pissed off to the point of insanity; the most pissed off you could possibly be. You've resorted to physically violent intimidation tactics. Think like the final fight scene of a lot of villains -- Ratigan, White Diamond, Ursula, that kind of crazy angry. You've nearly lost everything you've ever worked for all because of this person. You're in a moment of furious desperation. Most of all, you're infuriated that this bug in particular won't join you, and can't understand you.]
You’re a pollinator! You’re born to be above the rest. You could’ve had what I have, Chance, all you have to do is take it. Not even no wings can stop you. I wish you could’ve had it, but I can’t risk you pulling this stunt again. Was it worth it, parading yourself for them?
