Hey everyone, as you might know the World of Darkness team have been hosting a game jam throughout the month where they allow the vampire: the masquerade IP to be used in game projects.
I've been working on a survival horror game in UE5 for my submission. I'm progressing well at the moment and I'm in the content stage.
In the game there are audio recordings to be found and I'm primarily casting for those right now, I will be opening up more of the in game roles soon though so keep an eye out! The project is paid although the game will be free, the winner of the jam gets included in the VTM franchise on Steam, which could be really good in terms of exposure. So yeah, onto the basic premise.
You play as Detective Brant, who is currently investigating a series of suspicious murders in North Carolina similar in nature. He tracked them to an area further West into the mountains in an old house occupied by vampires.

Alex is the leader of this coterie (or group), he's been undead since the late 70s. He should sound like a leader, not overly commanding, but someone who is determined and competent and willing to get his hands dirty. He has an objective and he's determined to see it through.

She needs to wake up. It is imperative that she wakes up. Until she does I need this from you. You will have to trust me. Or don’t, I don’t care. Just do as I say or face the consequences.
Zeke is a member of the coterie who thoroughly enjoys the more sadistic parts of being a vampire. Torture and exploring pain is what keeps them going, but when told to restrain themselves they find themselves bitter and angry. They have a real temper and though they can put on the guise of civility they are at their core driven by their strong emotions.
I have always been what I am and you have supported my ambitions. Why are you so adamant I restrain myself? I am merely doing what we’ve always done.
Fuck that, I will not drink some stale sacred heart donations like those fucking rats in the sewers hiding in the shadows pretending they don’t exist!
Are we not what we are? Were we not made for this? Just tell me why!
Jason is another member of the coterie, the youngest and least morally corrupt. He was forced into his existence as a vampire as a 20s something in the 2010s and accepts his place as an outsider to vampire society, but doesn't necessarily take pleasure in the harsher aspects of his faction. Jason is obeying orders due to his strong sense of loyalty but would really rather leave and forget about this situation with his girlfriend.
What do you mean she escaped? How the fuck did she escape? You left her in the cage without blood, didn’t you?
I want an explanation. In just 2 weeks everything has turned to shit! Alec is missing, you’re doing god knows what to a dozen humans a day. What the hell is this? We’re supposed to be laying low!

Cynthia is a vampire unrelated to the coterie, but is Jason's girlfriend, she is slightly older than Jason, having turned in the early 2000s in her early 20s. She stays out of politics and she stays out of the Sabbat's way, generally not taking a stance. She's smart, witty and knows how to survive.
So in the scene Cynthia is pleading Jason to leave this house, which at this point is teeming with dangerous monsters and dead bodies, she can hear an overpowering voice screaming in her head and is concerned with Jason's nonchalance about the whole situation and is trying to snap him out of it. The stakes are high super high!
[Frustrated/Angry] Jason, I thought you said things would be quiet around here? There’s a huge trail of dead bodies leading here and the screaming, I can barely hear myself think. How long do you think this is going to last? And where the hell is everyone?
[Pleading] I...I need to go, are you coming with me?
[Defeated] Alright...well call me I guess...when you’re done with this bullshit. You have my number.
NOTE I don't have an estimated word count just yet for detective Brant. I'm still finalising their dialogue as a lot of it consists of monologues, grunts, breathing, cries of pain and context sensitive quips, but I'm setting a fixed amount for the project according to the budget.
Detective Brant is the player character, a basic by the book detective investigating a series of murders, but ends up finding himself in a vampire infested hell hole.
They call themselves Kindred. They hide in the shadows, making their moves and playing games of political subterfuge while the rest of the world sleeps. They prefer it when we don’t know they exist.
You...you’re responsible for all of this. You need to stop this. You need to undo this shit. These people, they had lives...they had families and you took that away from them!
(Optional) Try out some grunts and all those player sounds ya can think of, heavy breathing, cries of pain, grunts for swinging an axe etc
This is the main antagonist of the game. However there really isn't a lot of dialogue for her. Most of what I'll be looking for is whispers, no more than 30 words, basically the elder is chasing after the player and wants to indoctrinate him so the whispers have to kinda sound creepy and enticing at the same time.
(Whispers, sorta trying to entice the protagonist) come with me...drink from me...You're mine...
these monsters used to be human but now they serve the elder. They have no eyes or nose, they mainly navigate through vibrations, I'd like them to sound really breathy, but if you've got any ideas on how you'd do it feel free to make some weird monster sounds!
