The casting call for episode 1 is now closed, and character voices are revealed in the video. 

 This project is 15+

Dont submit the same audition twice! (Unless you have contacted me that you'll be re-auditioning for that part.) 

If I haven't responded to your audition right away, please dont think I haven't chosen you. I plan to close this on February the 8th, so by then, I'll have a look through all the auditions. 

 These lines are meant as a test, to get an idea of the character's personality, and how they communicate with others. 


NOTE- a few roles may be closed, this is either because I have found the right voices and am no longer looking for any more voices for that certain role. Casting call results will be out 4 weeks after this is closed.

If you’re auditioning you’re confirming that you’re 15+

Please, please, please audition for more than 1 character! It increases your chances

of getting in!

I won’t tolerate anyone who’s acting dumb on the server, or

has a history of being not so cool. Be nice guys, it isn’t that hard. 

And lastly, if you’re auditioning it is recommended to have a clear mic, thank you.

  • VARMINT - major update

    Hello everyone. I would like to say thank to everyone that applied to become a voice actor for this project. I have taken some steps regarding the series however, and have decided to make it a graphic novel instead. But what does this mean for potential voice actors? Because Varmint cant be a fully animated series due to the number of people working on it I have decided to animate small scenes and trailers around 1-2 minutes that include voice lines of the characters, so voice actors will still have a chance to shine. Voice actors will still be invited to the discord server, but varmint will become a part-time thing instead. There is a bit more information about this in my community post.

Harlow- simple Introduction

A teenage/young adult voice. He's friendly, joking, and loyal. He's quite observant of others, almost always following Lukomei around like a child. Harlow is good friends with Lukomei and Naveah. 

  • 1. "I know, I know. It's just you rarely ever hang out with us, so I was just wondering..."

    2. *sigh* "Sorry If I caused you any trouble. I just wish you'd talk to us, for once in your life."

    3. (Optimistic) - "It's just as we planned, I'll be the brawn you be the brains! That's how it goes."

    4. (Teasing) - "Pfft, what's the matter Naveah, scared Lukomei's gonna beat you again with his sorcery?"

Young Harlow- simple Introduction

A young, child-like snarky tone. He's tough and a bit of a troublemaker. Despite this, he has a good heart and looks out for his friends. This should give you a basic idea of his character. 

  • 1. "Eh, I'm not really into all that boring talk of yours. I'm joking, I'm joking!"

    2. (worried, nervous) - "Well, it's not like it matters anyway. Besides, you'll get caught Luko!"

    3. (hopeless) - "It's risky, but I guess that's just how he is."

    4. "Pfft, there's no way I'm going over there. I'll end up like you!"

    5. (concerned) - "You know, it's not good to be alone."

Naveah- simple Introduction

A young adult, dark, female voice. She's easily irritated and even infuriated by others. Naveah is tough and sarcastic. Like Lukomei she is intelligent and gets what she wants, but both of them don't get along very well. 

  • 1. (Passive-aggressive) - "Why should I waste my time with you when I could be doing something useful."

    2. "Just give up already Harlow, there's no use relying on him."

    3. (embarrassed) -"I am not jealous! What? Why would you ever think that!?"

    4. "Hey, he's the one making all of this gear, of course, he's gonna beat me!"

Young Naveah- simple Introduction

Naveah is impatient and rule-abiding. She tends to get involved in situations that have nothing to do with her. Naveah respects those who are stronger and more efficient than her.

    2. (annoyed) - "Maybe if you actually tried for once!"

    3. "Knock it off already!"

    4. "Don't you two have any respect? Listen to your seniors!"

Lukomei- simple Introduction

Lukomei is the protagonist of the series. His voice is on the more androgynous, raspy side. He's intelligent, sly, clever and carries charisma. He's more introverted than sociable, but naturally, he's straightforward and overconfident In what he does. He can be quite pretentious and irritatingly smug but doesn't let himself belittle others. If he's on the edge he will convert to yelling.

It's quite difficult to explain his voice but to get an idea, his voice is similar to something like Brian Auburt from Silversun Pickups, or the band HEALTH. Don't feel too scared by this as it is just a rough idea of his voice, it may change depending on the voice actors. 


  • 1. (confident.) - "Hmph, no chance, Cyril's too stuck-up to see what's coming his way."

    2. "Harlow... It's a fish, what did you expect it to talk?"

    3. *shocked, yet welcoming* "Ormr, what a surprise!"

    4. (Joking, over-dramatic) "Ah, worst thing I've ever heard. I could cry from my ears!"

    5. (very annoyed, pissed) - "don't you think I know that already!?"

Little Luko- simple Introduction

A younger, child-like version of Lukomei. His voice is still a bit raspy here. Lukomei is competitive and free-spirited.

  • 1. (empathetic) - "Aww, you know I dont care for that Harlow. I mean, why should it matter what they think?"

    2. "Hey, let go! I said let go!"

    3. "I-I don't care anymore... Just leave me alone."

Ormr- simple Introduction

A menacing, adult female voice. Ormr is an intelligent, manipulative black panther. Her role is extremely important. Her presence is frightening. Ormr is quiet and vigilant. She has a slight motherly vibe to her, this is revealed in the way she treats others, particularly the ones younger than her. 

  • 1. (Her attempt to comfort someone.)"You weren't expecting that, were you? To see the world for what it truly is so soon..."

    2. *light chuckle* "This one's not communicating, how annoying."

    3. "Oh? I was only here the entire time."

    4. "Impartiality, freedom... It doesn't exist."

    5. (shocked) - "You were responsible for their deaths, and you just watched... To think I was the one at fault here. But then again, tools have no hearts."

Valerian- simple Introduction

Valerian has a soft, sweet tone, and is a little timid. Although he comes across as helpless to those around him, he hides behind a mask and pulls off schemes, so he can be quite brutal at times. 

  • 1. (bothered, uncertain) - "Something feels off, I mean they never mentioned this before."

    2.  *nervous chuckle* "Hey, come on now it was an accident. I didn't mean any harm by it, I promise!"

    3. "No, you're right. I shouldn't have intervened. You're stronger, everyone knows it. You don't have to remind me."

    4. (worried) "Y-you can't do that, you'll get yourself killed! Hey- listen to me!"

The Generals

The Generals- simple Introduction

They're two important characters that are primarily antagonists in the animated series, although not necessarily evil, but troubled men. Their names and who they are will be revealed later. General 2 has more significance than general 1.

    1. "Crazy kid, how'd he get up there in the first place?"

    1. "I believe this belongs to you."

    2. "Doesn't matter, let's just get rid of him."

    3. (enraged) - "You're all menaces! Civilization has declined because of you pests!"

Theodore- simple Introduction

Theo's a nice and genuine guy. He's well-mannered and stays on the defense. He is also a minor character, so there isn't too much to know about him. He's quite a mystery, and even I have trouble deciding a name that fits him best. This character will only be apparent in episode one. 

  • 1. "The name's Theodore, it's what they call me back home."

    2. (sincere) - "It doesn't matter where we are in the end, every day it's all the same."

    3. "Don't bother, he's not worth it."

    4. (Profound) - "I refuse to stand here and listen to your sickening speech. I'll never follow someone like you!"

Cyril- simple Introduction

Cyril is the cunning, deceitful type. If nothing goes his way he acts childish and hysterical. Cyril usually keeps his cool. He's a sly, dishonest cat.

    2. "We're all criminals here, savages, animals. it's only the natural order of things."

    3. "Aww, is the little kitty worried about the little birdie? How embarrassing, honestly."
