Unofficial Skyrim Voice Expansion (USVE) - Accented Women
Project Overview
USVE
Unofficial Skyrim Voice Expansion (USVE) is a fan-made modification for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SE and will be hosted free of charge on NexusMods.
By default, characters are limited to generic voicetypes used for up to 100 NPCs. There's also many instances of siblings having drastically different accents. Some conversations include the same voice actor talking to themselves despite portraying different characters: https://youtu.be/watch?v=o6YX5dJj2iA&t=13s
This mod aims to alleviate that by introducing new actors to the mix. The technical work is complete, all that's needed are your lovely voices.
Skyrim Revoiced is an excellent example of what this mod aims to do, and serves as an inspiration.

LINES
These voicetypes have ~800-1000 lines, including efforts and zombie groans. Around ~600 of those are actual longer sentences beyond combat grunts and short responses i.e. "Good morning."
Please feel free to put your own spin on these! I'm not the best at identifying accents or describing voices soooo if my description doesn't make sense, just go with what you think fits.
FUTURE PLANS
If these accents aren't your forte, I plan to add roles for American-accented women next. Got a few ideas for men too (Posh, Scottish, Geralt-y, Elderly) after that :)
Eventually I plan to add new conversations, events, and quests in addition to replacing existing dialogue in order to make the game feel even more expansive.
Ideally, USVE will have open permissions for users to "splice lines" in order to create new dialogue with a strict requirement to not be disrespectful, sexual, or demeaning in any form. Here is a great example of line splicing, combining different voicelines to create unique combat dialogue for bandits, no AI used:

NO AI
Absolutely zero AI will be used or allowed; no voice cloning, generative stuff, and anything that falls under that umbrella. NAVA AI Riders will be provided for actors.
THANK YOU
spdude - Skyrim Revoiced, sharing how to set up the technical side
KaruraWasabi - all NPC appearances pictured, being an awesome person
CircuitVA - for casting call guidelines
VAs used as examples - for sounding so cool I had to use 'em as references
Bethesda - Skyrim
You - for reading
An alternate for FemaleNord, this voicetype will be used for ~8 NPCs, notably:
- Danica Pure-Spring, a pious priestess
- Tova Shatter-Shield, a grieving mother
- Nura Snow-Shod, a grieving mother AND pious priestess
For this role, I envision an Irish accent like Lisa Hannigan as Blue Diamond from [1:06-3:33]. Another sample here from [0:07-0:57]
These women are Nords, ~40-50
Melancholic/soft, authoritative/commanding at times.
[Kynareth = kin-uh-reth, Ysmir = ees-mere]
- english
- irish
- female adult
It's a shame, isn't it? This is the Gildergreen. It was planted as a seedling in the early years of Whiterun. Disciples of Kynareth could sense something holy in it, and traveled far to hear the winds of the goddess in its branches.
I've been a bit out of sorts since... since our daughter was taken from us. I try not to think of her, but sometimes the simplest thing will remind me.
By Ysmir, this is horrible! I never wanted the girl dead, I swear! (after witnessing the murder of daughter-in-law)
An alternate for FemaleDarkElf, this voicetype will be used for ~8 NPCs, notably:
- Dravynea the Stoneweaver, a tired mage
- Synda Llanith, a worrying farmer
- Irileth, a stark veteran and bodyguard to the Jarl (King)
For this role, I envision an English working class accent.
Here's an example of the original Dark Elves voices for reference. Not to imitate but to get an idea of what other Dunmer sound like. Another sample here and here.
These women are lower-class. Plenty of leeway, I'd love to hear different interpretations.
The "Cynical" part is just following vanilla naming conventions, she doesn't have to sound cynical!
[Morrowind = more-oh-wind, Azura = uh-zur-uh, Balgruuf = bawl-gruff]
- english
- british (cockney)
- female adult
- british (liverpool)
- british
- british (southern)
- british (london)
Nosy one, huh? I was a mage back in Morrowind. I lend my talents to the mines here, helping them keep the tunnels safe. By Azura, it gets hot in there. I use Frost Salts for a potion to keep the heat bearable, but I'm out.
The war's been hard on the farm and hard on Dravin. We don't know what to expect from one day to the next.
Halt! In the name of the Jarl, Balgruuf the Greater! (calling out, challenging an aggressor)
An alternate for FemaleElfHaughty, this voicetype will be used for ~8 NPCs, notably:
- Endarie, a snobbishly rude tailor (somehow meaner than her sister)
- Ingun Black-Briar, an unhinged nepo-baby and aspiring alchemist
- Muiri, a vengeful woman scorned, ordering an assassination
For this role, I envision a posh accent like Jennifer English as Shadowheart [1:28-4:12].
(Content Warning) Another sample here from [0:29-2:32].
These women are upper-class Elves with the exception of 2 humans.
Silky/higher-pitched, harsh/sardonic at times.
[Alain Dufont = uh-lain do-font]
- english
- female adult
- british (posh)
- female young adult
- english
- british
Oh, what delight. Another charming customer... Let me just drop everything to help you. I don't mind. Really. (sarcastic, rolling her eyes)
It's exhilarating to observe the effects of my potions on the body. Watching the heart stop... the eyes go blind. You ask why I'm so fascinated? The irony... the irony that the same world that gave us life provides us the means to die. ("off")
What I need? What I need is for Alain Dufont to die! I want him hunted down and murdered like the dog he is! (conspiratorial, talking kind of crazy)
A second alternate for FemaleNord, this voicetype will be used for ~8 NPCs, notably:
- Freir, a kind but somewhat naive priestess
- Svana Far-Shield, a maid disgusted by the company her aunt keeps
- Nilsine Shatter-Shield, a noblewoman scorned after a harsh betrayal
For this role, I envision a Danish/Nordic accent like Olivia Le Andersen as Freja from [0:10-0:58]. Another sample here.
Plenty of leeway, ideally not Swedish or Irish as those have already been represented. As long as the accent is on the subtler side, could fit a younger Nord, and isn't too similar to the original voice, go for it!
These women are all hard-working Nords around ~30.
Cold/deadpan, warm/soothing at times.
[Haelga = hail-guh, Muiri = moy-ree]
- english
- icelandic
- danish
- german
- scandinavian
- female adult
- viking
- female young adult
- norwegian
- dutch
Feel free to take a seat, or pray at the shrines. We appreciate worship in all its forms. (welcoming)
Work? I suppose you can call it that. I call it slavery. I work my fingers to the bone keeping this disgusting place clean. Ever since my parents died and Haelga took me in, it's been a nightmare. (resentful)
Muiri? I can't believe my family trusted that backstabbing little strumpet. You tell her she's dead to us. You hear me? Dead! (furious at the mention, causing a scene)
An alternate for FemaleCommoner, this voicetype will be used for ~9 NPCs, notably:
- Kerah, a hard-working merchant and doting mother
- Gianna, a fan-girly chef
- Redguard Woman, an exhausted farmer trying to get home
For this role, I envision a neutral American accent but a tiny hint of Southern might work.
You're welcome to try different types of voices/characters you think would fit, as long as it sounds personable and somewhat grounded!
These women are all busy-bees around ~30-40.
Charismatic/pleasant, hard-working/witty. Med-pitch.
We sold all those lovely little necklaces you brought me today. Did you make them yourself? (warm; you know she made the necklaces all by herself, but you wanna make your daughter feel extra proud)
The Forsworn, here inside the city. Margret... He... he killed her. Right in front of me. (traumatized, in shock OR appalled; you just witnessed a cultist murder your favorite customer, you thought the city was safe)
I don't know who you think I am, and I don't care! Leave me alone! I'm not going anywhere! Now back off before I do something drastic! (aggressive, shouting; ready to defend yourself against armed strangers)
An alternate for FemaleSultry, this voicetype will be used for ~9 NPCs, notably:
- Narri, a confident barkeep
- Dark Brotherhood Initiate, an eager-to-please initiate assassin
- Eola, a leader of a cannibal cult
For this role, I envision a sultry voice like Susan Egan as Megara. [1:00-1:45]
These women are all strong and hearty despite dark pasts.
Flirty/charismatic, sharp/witty. Mid-low pitch.
That bard Mikael is begging for a dagger up against his throat, the way he goes on about me. (annoyed; sick of her not-so-secret admirer)
It's fine... I had to tell someone I suppose. Carrying around a weight like that, it hurts after a while. Cuts you inside like a dagger to the heart. (you just opened up to a stranger on a whim; resigned and gloomy, but also relieved)
You were young when you first tasted human flesh, weren't you? A brother or sister had died? An accident, of course. Then the hunger set in. Curiosity. What's the harm in just one bite? (enticing; you're a cannibal recruiting cult members)
