Uncharted: The Hidden Kingdom Audio Drama

Project Overview

"When Sully asks Nate for help with a “little problem,” the implications are far greater than anything either of them could have imagined. Trailed by a delusional psychopath, could ancient clues from Arthurian lore lead to an incredible treasure or their ultimate doom? Join Chloe, Sully, Nate and Elena as they face a heart-stopping adventure on a forgotten island!"

We are happy to announce that we have started production on a brand new fan project! We are creating a two-part audio drama based on the characters from the Uncharted video game series. The original story, by Chuck Duffie, fits seamlessly into the lore and timeline of the series between games 2 and 3. Both episodes are estimated to be about one hour in length. The drama will feature high-quality sound design and SFX as well as fantastic original music by YouTube composer Evan "EFlex" Boyerman. Where our last project, The Shadow: Black Rock, was more of a homage style production, this one will be fully modernized and a fantastic adventure!

Since this is a fan project, we will not be making any money off of the drama whatsoever. Once this project is completed we will make it available for free listening on our YouTube channel. We will also make it available for free listening as well as for free download on our website www.unchartedthk.com.

One of the goals of this project is to give participating voice actors a great addition to their demo reels as well as some publicity for their work. We would like to post a picture, name, and social media/contact links for each member of the cast on our website once the project is released. While the roles for Nathan Drake, Chloe Frazier and the villain Dorian Faybridge have already been filled, we still need voices for Elena Fisher and Victor "Sully" Sullivan. Throw your hat into the ring for a chance to be a part of this exciting project!

Requirements:

*Access to Discord as we'd like to do a readthrough together with all the actors(If possible) before we begin recording.

*The ability to produce 24 bit  48 KHz WAV audio files.

*Clean audio files - No background noises or hums(Even for your auditions please).

*The ability to record your lines within 3 weeks after our readthrough.

Happy auditioning!

After reviewing all the auditions that were posted here and sent through email, we have made our decisions and chosen our actors and actress. • An Early Apology

The response to this casting call has been inspiring and at the same time very challenging, due to the fact that so many of you have turned in amazing auditions! We wish that we had many more parts available so we would have the opportunity of working alongside more amazingly talented people. What is of the utmost importance to us, in this project(specifically for the characters of Elena and Sully), is finding the voice and delivery that most closely matches the characters in the games. Unfortunately, this will exclude some wonderful auditions, not because of a lack of skill, but because of a lack of voice similarity. We apologize for this, but it is unavoidable. When we make our decision on Friday, please know that we make it with a touch of disappointment that we had to narrow things down to so few of you. You all are awesome!

Elena is a reporter. She is eager, diligent, and has a great interest in history.

She was pulled into the world of treasure hunting somewhat unwillingly, but now has a taste of the adventure. She is tenacious, yet logical and grounded. This can sometimes put her at odds with Nate.

Her relationship with Nate is troubled as she tries to decide what she really wants in life.

Here's a reference video for how her voice sounds in the video games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdDHJnqS32E

The character was played by Emily Rose in the games.  WORD COUNT is approx: 1,689.

  • (Upset) "Sully! I made a pilgrimage to the Book of Kells when I was in college! Don’t you guys have any respect for the sacred?"

  • (Almost a wistful or daydreaming tone) "Look at them, Chloe. Sitting up there, pilot and co-pilot, like a couple of boys pretending to be treasure hunters."

  • SFX: Metallic thud as Nate clocks Faybridge. Guests react.

    ELENA (Upset and shocked)

"Nate! Are you crazy? You know who that is?"

    GUARDS

    Stop! Stay right there!

    NATE

    That’s our cue.

ELENA (Yelling as she's being pulled along)

    "Let go of my hand!"

SFX: Sounds of feet running on gravel.

    NATE

    Go, go, go!

    ELENA (Confused and upset)

"Why are we running? What’s going on?"

Role assigned to: Xero

“Sully” is Nathan Drake's mentor and closest friend. He cares for Nate, but it’s a “tough love.”

He’s a gruff rough character who likes to live life with no strings attached. A dedicated treasure hunter with a colorful past.

Here's a reference video for how his voice sounds in the video games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Avsaj8bnkf8

The character was played by Richard McGonagle in the games.  WORD COUNT is approx. 1,867.

  • "I helped Faybridge steal it. Still feel kinda bad about that one. So when he asked me to help with another little history project -- (Pause)  Eh, what can I say? I never liked the guy."

  • (chuckles)

"TomAto, tomato. Let’s get down there and scope it out while we have the chance."

  • SULLY

"Three days ago, Faybridge invites me to his mansion. Takes me downstairs to his sanctum sanctorum. Shows me the painting all framed and lit-up. Turns out, the painting is a kind of pali, palum, pallid --"

    NATE

    Pamphlet?

    SULLY (Sarcastic)

"Yeah, because they had pamphlets in the middle ages."

Role assigned to: Duality Dubs

Khan Rutrig is a mysterious character the team meets on their adventure. He is an older man with an Old English accent and great wisdom. He is someone that commands respect, is not to be questioned and has a very frightening voice. I have in mind something along the lines of Necross from Mune: Guardian of the Moon or Sauron from Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, both featured in this video at 7:14 and 14:58 respectively: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3l_J5KmHuE. I'm also open to original interpretations.

His voice needs to carry a lot of weight, intimidation, and character, but still be able to be understood without concentration. I don't want people to have to relisten to his scenes to figure out what he is saying.

Here's your chance to play around with effects or whatever you can imagine to fit the character! If you do use effects, please also include the version of your audition before the effects were added. That way if I don't care for your effects, but like the sound of your voice, you may still get the part.  WORD COUNT is approx: 122.

  • (Old English, with authority)

"Tôhwon rôðor êow?" (Who are you?)

  • "Wise man. (beat) (turning angry) But you. You have the look of a thief. Who are you?"

  • (This sentence is spoken during a fight. There should be the slightest touch of exertion in the delivery.)

"To him, the world was something to consume. (beat) I see the same greed in your eyes. (beat) And the same fear!"
