Project Overview
We are looking for six voice actors (two male, four female) for a vertical slice of an unannounced narrative action/simulation game. The game is centered around a dying mother in a post-apocalyptic future, where humanity is on the brink of extinction, and utilize mechs to dig for whatever resources are left outside their bunker city.
Character roles are listed with ages or age ranges, but we welcome anyone who can do a convincing voice in that range to apply, regardless of their age. Voice actors must be comfortable with mature language, including swearing, sexual innuendos, and generally foul mouthed expressions.
This is a paid project with a flat fee. Candidates with long-term interest are preferred, as we aim to switch to a long-term, hourly rate structure once our current goals have been met. The project requires signing of an Non-Disclosure Agreement.
This project is made without any use of Gen AI, and we won't be using it for any part of this project now and in the future. The NDA includes the NAVA AI Protection Rider to protect your rights, which we fully support.
Payment will be done through bank transfer upon receiving your invoice, though PayPal and other payment methods can be discussed if required.
Deadline is the 11th of August, 2025. This is a short notice project, so we expect you to start immediately upon casting.
What to Expect
Upon being cast, you will be warmly received by our line director, Mandi, who will be guiding you through the recording session utilizing Source Connect. Recording sessions will therefore be live, with the times determined after casting. Don’t worry - we aim to work around you and your available hours, so we won’t expect you to get up at 3 AM to record anything!
What We Need
Please send us your demo along with the role/s you’re auditioning for - we do not require you to record anything new for us unless you want to! We expect you to have your own setup for recording audio in a quiet room, and will need you to connect to the recording sessions using Source Connect.
The Roles
BRYNJA, female, 40s to 50s: A dying mother determined to leave her two daughters a better future before she passes, Brynja is both a sweet mother, and a hardened blue collar worker who swears like a sailor with her colleagues. We are looking for someone with a good head voice and a good, deep chest voice.
LUNCHBOX, female, 40s to 50s, bubbly and upbeat voice: A blue collar worker drilling for oil and minerals in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Upbeat with a potty mouth, mother of five, caught in the guilt of being away from her family to provide. Looking for someone with an uplifting, bubbly, upbeat voice.
HONCHO, male, 50s to 60s, honey whisky voice: A blue collar worker with calloused hands, a gruff voice, horrible jokes, and a heart of gold. Serves as the unit’s foreman, Honcho’s biggest mission is to bring everybody back alive. Tragically, he knows that won’t be possible. A man with a one-sided loyalty to his government. We’re looking for a voice that can convincingly sell the raspy, gruff, honey whisky tone of a man well acquainted with smoking several packs a day, without turning into parody. Southern United States accent OK, other accents (maritime Canadian, Midwestern United States etc) very interesting.
SKIDS, male, early 20s: The unit’s youngest member, speaks in a monotone, while intentionally saying outrageous things to provoke a reaction from his colleagues. Speaks similarly to a teenager trying to deepen their voice to sound cooler. Voice cracks under pressure.
SIGNE, female, teenager, aged 15: Brynja’s teenaged daughter, age 15. Mature for her age, who is aware of her mother’s terminal condition, but carries an underlying frustration that her mother is avoiding the subject.
NINA, female, age 5: Brynja’s youngest daughter. An energetic child who loves cats, sharks, lasers and dinosaurs.
