UFO Senshi Dai Apolon Episode 1 English Fandub
Project Overview
UFO Senshi Dai Apolon is a mecha anime from the 1970s, and the only surviving English dub is a heavily cut down compilation 'film'.
I've always wanted to see at least a glimpse into what it could be like if the show had a full English dub, so I'm going to try to organise one for at least the first episode.

Lead role.
Takeshi is the protagonist, a confident but relatively typical teenage boy who's a prodigy at American football. He learns a great secret on his sixteenth birthday, thrusting him into uncertainty and obligations far beyond him.

Voice Actor
Lead role. An older teen who's a big guy with a big attitude. He's gruffer and more prone to rough-housing than his allies, but is fiercely protective of his found family. Vengeful, but well-meaning.

Lead role. Miki is the responsible one of the group and often acts as the team's pseudo-coach. She has a very selfless nature but can be prone to small fits of frustration.

Lead role. The youngest of the team, Matsuo is a mischievous kid who idealises Takeshi quite a bit. He's easily distracted but is also the most proactive and gung-ho about most things happening around him.

Side role. The Director of Blue Sky orphanage treats the children there as though they were her own, with a motherly air. She revels in their achievements while also sharing in their pains. While she's unaware of their eventual affiliation with Dai Apolon, she remains an important pillar of their lives.

Side role. An old, esoteric man who acts to guide Takeshi on his journey, and is the the one who reveals the secrets of his past. He used to be a king's servant and still views himself in that role, and is vehement in that all things must happen as fate ordains it.

Lead role. The steadfast and somewhat flamboyant leader of the mission to Earth. He wishes only to serve his Emperor and by extension, his people. He is the organiser making sure everything is running smoothly, but is rarely on the front lines.

Lead role. Hido is the more dim-witted and more aggressive underling of Gyranik. He revels in destruction any chance he gets and grows increasingly agitated as time goes on. He has a higher, scratchy voice.

Minor role (for the episode, at least). A slow-speaking and crooning person who covets the Earth as his prime conquest. He speaks in an unsettlingly high-pitched tone which seems to drag on just a bit too long.
