Transformers IDW RiD: Issue 33 - Voices Needed!
Project Overview
Hey all you people! Back with another casting call for a project I'm working on, and looking to connect with new friends to work on this with!
To preface, I'm Nathan, also known as SuhmGuyVoices, I'm just a geeky guy who's trying to get his voice heard throughout my time in this world. I've mainly made comic dubs of IDW Transformers, and continuing on them when I can!
This is a dub of a full issue from the IDW Transformers Robots in Disguise comic series, particularly Issue 33. To briefly summarize this, it focuses around the Autobot Scientist Wheeljack coming back into reality after recovering from an almost life-ending injury, finding out that Starscream of all bots is now leader of Cybertron trying to get towards peace after the great Autobot-Decepticon war!
FOR WHEN YOU AUDITION:
Please have a decent enough sounding mic, I'm not asking for studio quality, background noise is fine if it's at a minimum (I can always do my best to erase it if needed) but if you audition on your phone or something then you will not be considered.
No robotic effects are required for your audition, I'd like to hear your raw take of the character's voice first- I will take care of effects for the final product!
This unfortunately will not be a paid dub and will solely just a passion project of mine mainly because I really like the dialogue and mood of this particular issue, and Wheeljack's my favorite Autobot :D

Deadline Extended
Hey everyone!
Thanks so much for your interest so far in this casting call- just making a quick update here to say that the deadline for auditions has been extended until the end of the month as I'm taking on other projects at the moment that are near finishing.
From the auditions I've listened to here and there so far, you all sound amazing! Looking forward to hearing more!

For Starscream, I'm honestly pretty flexible with how I want him to sound since he's had such a variety of interpretations and they're all amazing in their own ways.
He has a bit of prominent role in this issue as he catches Wheeljack up on everything that has happened in the series, and in a crazy turn if you haven't read this- he is the leader of a Cybertron in rebuilding after the great war finally ended.
I am not looking for direct impressions- but to give you an idea of what I'm looking for, something around Steve Blum's performance in Transformers Prime, but I'd also love to hear your own takes!
Voice description:
- male adult
*Happily* "Wheeljack- it is me, your old pal, Starscream! I got a new body! You like it? I'm in charge of Cybertron!"
*Calm, but humbly smug still, emphasize the Lord* "Please, just Lord Starscream."
*In an argument with himself* "You have ABSOLUTELY no idea what it's like to have EVERYONE in the universe DESPISE you..."

For brief context as Wheeljack describes it in this issue, Shockwave quite literally almost destroyed the universe in the "Dark Cybertron" plot. Ironhide had gotten a glimpse of the future which does not end quite well so he's in a rut now. He despairs over the loss of the surety in the future that the vision had granted him, but with good humour, Wheeljack tells him that that state of uncertainty is just called "being alive".
With that said, he's not quite the chipper battle-ready G1 self and does not emote much in the few pages he's in. I'm just looking for a deep, voice with that Peter Cullen G1 southern drawl still, or you can also go towards Jess Harnell's performance in the Bay movies! But again, don't feel the need to directly do a 1:1 impression!
*Glum, solemnly* "Huh. I always thought a black hole'd eat up the Solar System..."
"You don' get it... I saw the FUTURE. An' then RIGHT here, in this place... Shockwave just... he CHANGED everything."
"I can't tell what's good or bad... an' I don't know WHAT'S gonna happen..."

Rattrap in this continuity is honestly the "Starscream" to Starscream, as in he wants Screamer dead so he can take the mantle. In this issue specifically he doesn't have too much an appearance, so this casting call for him will feature all his lines as the audition.
I'm looking for a voice similar to Scott McNeil's performance as him in Beast Wars, though let's say more toned down.
*Stopping Wheeljack from going up to see Starscream* "Sorry, bucko- the boss is busy."
*Steps aside, letting Wheeljack go up* "Do what you gotta do."
*Dismissingly* "He's up there."
