Ken Kaneki is just a normal boy. His life was simple and his intentions pure. However, it seems destiny have other plans for this young man. His voice should be weak, but hold a sense of courage within. His character is not just a punching bag, but someone who is determined to help his friends and those around him no matter the cost.
"Hide (He-Day) please don't get me kick from here! Its the only place that me and her share!
"Yes, some ghouls walk a path that leaves sorrow in their wake, but just like humans, we can choose a different path altogether. We have a lot to learn, both your kind and mine. We need to stop fighting!"
"I'm not the protagonist of a novel or anything. I'm just a college student who likes to read, like you could find anywhere. But... if, for argument's sake, you were to write a story with me in the lead role, it would certainly be... a tragedy."
Touka is the backbone for most of season 1, and we intend to keep that going for this abridged. Her voice needs to be soft and kind but have the capability to become fierce. Being the most important character aside from Kaneki I will be very picky for this role.
"Hi my name is Touka, ill be your server today"
"After you've gobbled him down you'd be left alone to regret it while covered in blood and guts. That's the hunger of a ghoul. That's our destiny."
"What the hell do you know?! It's all because I can't eat, because I could be a target at any time, all because I'm a ghoul! No matter how much I try, there's a wall I can never jump over, and there's happiness that I can never have. But I'm still hanging on to life. Despite it all."
Hideyoshi (AKA Hide) is the best friend of Kaneki. Through thick and thin he seems to always have his back even if sometimes he can cause trouble for the half-ghoul. His voice is comforting, giving the feeling that he has he situation planed out in his head (even though he doesn't)
"oh! so shes the luck woman that cought your eye huh? (get up and yells) Hey Ma'am! We're ready to order.
"Dude. You eating properly? You don't look so hot. You better eat right or you won't hold up."
"I know that university student... I mean... Kaneki is... my close friend."
Riza is beautiful. Charming. Eccentric. But above all else she is a ghoul. For most of the anime we only get tid bits of who Rize is. We find out she is a respected ghoul for her sheer power and persuasion. Her voice is seductive and persuasive. Giving the sense she can make anything she want happen. Even if its killing you.
“You choose to be hurt rather than to hurt others, right? You’re nice and wonderful. But while it seems like you are choosing both, you’re really forsaking both.”
Whose fault is it that things ended up like this? Coincidence? An accident? Fate? There's no such thing as fate. It's simply a combination of one circumstance and the next. And who is it that creates those circumstances? Who is it? It's you.
“There are times when you’ll have to protect something even at the cost of something else.”
Nishiki is a jackass. he is arrogant, and rude! However, there is a kinder side to him. After falling in love with a Human he as always been softer and kinder. His voice is strong and ferocious.
"Someone who can't plan ahead on their own won't be able to live a good life."
"Trusting a human is difficult...but...maybe being betrayed by you wouldn't be so bad."
"Like this everything is abruptly coming to a stop, huh? The normal days which seemed natural will crumble in an instant. The end... always comes in the blink of an eye."
The man of wisdom is certainly important. He guides our story through his advice and in time his words make the world seem clear when all is lost. His voice should be deep and majestic. Allowing for his wisdom to be heard and understood.

We're always trying to justify our actions with ideals. But ideals cannot give grounds for killing another person. The act of taking a life will always be considered... evil.
The doctor who started it all. After Kaneki is accident this was the doctor to work on him. after Kaneki experiences changes he suddenly vanishes from the face of the earth. His voice is open to interpretation.
"Your looking well Kaneki. We are going to keep you a few more days so we can make sure your injuries heal well."
"Please notify me if you have any strange sensations occurring withing the following weeks."
"I'm currently away from the office right now. If you would like to schedule an appointment please leave a message for my assistant at the beep."
Mysterious man for now. Voice is deep and threatening.
"What's one thousand minus seven?"
All suffering in the world is born from an individual's incompetence.
As long as it's for the right cause, there's nothing wrong with playing dirty.
