Thunderwood (Animated Series Pilot)
Project Overview
Hi everyone! This is the casting call for my indie pilot, Thunderwood. It's my first indie series here, and I'm pretty much just taking the leap and putting it out there.
I've got 7 roles open, but if I feel like your voice fits the tone, I'll give an additional/supporting role. All roles, like this description, are to be performed in English.
This story follows 22-year-old Katelyn Clarke on her journey to stardom as a news reporter. After bombing her first segment, she has to do her best to uncover the secrets of her town's corrupt mayor and create a reputation.
Pay will be determined based on overall project performance, but everyone will get paid, even if I pay out of pocket.
I'm making the deadline September 20th, 2026. If all roles fill beforehand, I'll close it. The full pilot script is finished; if anything changes, it'll be stylistic tweaks to some lines.
Main objective? Have as much fun with your co-stars as possible. Please submit clean-sounding recordings. Audition lines are provided. I'm also comfortable with any extra lines you'd like saying for an audition. Re-dos, if necessary, will be asked of you.
This is a pilot for Thunderwood. Depending on the result, or on how much fun we have, we'll continue and finish out the season. It'd be appreciated if everyone keeps in touch in case we want to continue the show.

She's in the little opening flashback. She's young (literally nine years old) and nervous to do her first report. A good/decent enough mic needed to work with. (audition lines aren't official. just good enough phrases where I can pick up your cadence and see how you sound.)

She's just graduating college, and she's young and ambitious. She gets frustrated easily sometimes. She is very passionate about the truth.

Due to the presence of active gunmen in our facility, we were all instructed to stay in and do our jobs. Now, on to sports.
If you know it's bad, why not do something about it? Isn't it our job to inform?

He's pretty laid back and chill, mid-40s. He's very authoritative, however, when it comes to his work and the ethics of the studio.

He's a morally corrupt guy. Carries himself (and not being funny in the slightest when I say this) with Trump-like confidence. It makes for funny moments sometimes, even when it's not the right time to be unserious. Just need a good/decent sounding mic.

Yes-man at its finest. That's it. Seriously, that's the role. He's just a yes-man. As if to illustrate my point, the audition lines are full of yes-man phrases. All you need is a good/decent mic that's good enough to suck-up to someone with.

Just an older lady (mid-50s) who's seen a lot in her lifetime. She tries to be optimistic about things.

After all lines are recorded and the character concept art has been made, I'll keep in contact with 2 or 3 storyboard artists to map out all the scenes. Script will be shared as well when this begins.

I just need someone who I can contact that's good in their craft. Mainly need help with character design.

Need someone (or a group of "someones") that I can share the pilot script with to be polished. I'll also share a series bible when production starts.

Maybe need about 2 or 3 animators to work once the storyboard is complete and lines are recorded.

Will only have one lead animator. This'll usually be the guy that meets online with the storyboard artists and I. We'll discuss scenes and important shots, and this animator will relay the message and critique certain shots.

Audio Engineer
This person will be given all of the finished line recordings. Sound effects will be needed as well, and maybe short musical stings throughout. The job of this department is to edit everything together and make it sound good. If there are lines that are unsatisfactory, this person would contact me and let me know which ones need to be redone.

Video Editor
This is probably the most self-explanatory role. Everything (animation and audio) needs to be compiled and edited together. This department and the audio department would go hand in hand.
