Project Overview
Hello, thank you for being interested in our project! We are Lavendeer Studios, a newly founded indie game studio based in Southeast Asia and we are currently producing our first immersive and choice-heavy visual novel, Threads of You: Beyond the Bay!
INFORMATION
★ The compensation we can offer right now is aligned with the base fee mentioned on VAC ($5 USD per line/1$ USD per effect).
★ We plan to pay on a per-line basis.
★ Payments will be made on PayPal in USD.
★ Our main form of communication will be on Discord.
★ Applicants will find out if they are accepted or not on May 17.

★ Introduce yourself at the start of the submission. Please keep takes in one file.
★ Submissions should be in AABBCC format.

WHAT'S THE GAME ABOUT?
You're on a much-needed road trip to visit back home after being away for college until your car suddenly breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, a sheriff drives past and takes you to the humble town of 'Brine Bay' until your car gets fixed. As you settle in, you'll have the chance to get to know seven interesting men: Caring yet stern Jean; determined and talented Kevin; masterfully flirtatious Kai; high-maintenance and pompous Wyatt; loyal and gentle Chris; nonchalant and brooding Vince and supportive and friendly, Andrew.
Get to know them over the course of two weeks and learn about their lives and dreams, maybe even their past. Will you pursue a relationship or choose to make lifelong friends instead? Maybe you want more than one partner or want to see them with each other? Either way, it was clear you were meant to be in their lives and them in yours.

ABOUT
Black voice actors will have priority in this role. However, you can still audition if you are not.
Jean Williams is one of the romanceable characters in our game. He's a 28 year old Sheriff who is stern but friendly. He's Vince's childhood best friend and current roommate.
MC meets him first, and he is willing to help out as much as he can; feeling a bit of an obligation to as the town's beloved Sheriff. He loves helping people and the ocean. He has dreams of being in the navy, but feels tied to Brine Bay and Vince.
DELIVERY
★ Pitch: We’re looking for a deep and mature voice.
★ He has a slight Southern American accent, but this is not necessary.
★ Please include the following soundbites in your audition:
- A brief and warm laugh, he was just told something funny
- Deep in thought: “Hmm.”
- A disappointed sigh, he was just let down.

DIRECTION: He’s interested and slightly concerned with the second question // You been settling in well? Folks been nice?
DIRECTION: A little frustrated and trying to stay composed, but loses it at the end // What, am I supposed to just leave him alone? I can’t just… abandon him! He’ll just relapse!
DIRECTION: Concerned and worried, he just found MC out in the road with a broken down car // Hey, is everything alright? Do you need help?
ABOUT
We’re exclusively looking for a transmasc voice actor to represent him.
Chris Topher is one of the romanceable characters in our game. He's a 21 year old waiter at Cup O' Joe Mama's, a family run business that's currently handled by him as his father is bed-ridden.
He gets nervous under unfamiliar circumstances, friendly to those around him, and a big brother to 3 younger sisters. He's a hard-worker, hoping to make up for his lack of success growing up and to make sure his sisters live comfortably, even when their father eventually passes.
During the story, Chris is still new to transitioning, recently taking T. At the end of the game, we’re planning to show him years ahead in a place where he is most comfortable with his identity.
DELIVERY
★ Pitch: The ability to go from medium to medium-low.

- Stuttering, trying to cut into an argument between people: “U-Uhm…”
- A stifled and quiet laugh, he isn’t trying to make it obvious he’s laughing.

DIRECTION: Cheery and attentive, he’s taking someone’s order // Hello, welcome to Cup O’ Jo Mama! What can I get for you today?
DIRECTION: He’s choking back a few tears at first, but covers it up with a frustrated smile in the second sentence // My father… he’s not been doing so great. I want to fix our relationship before… y’know. It’s kinda stupid but, I just don’t want to live with this guilt that I couldn’t make him proud.
DIRECTION: It’s years in the future and he’s fully transitioned now. The medium-low voice should be used here // Hey… wake up, sleepy head. We’re going to be late to meet the others.
