The Witcher (2019) Fanfiction Audio Drama
Project Overview
Welcome back to another one of my audio drama projects!
This time, the story is by an author on Fanfiction.net! I got in contact with VixenRose1996 (https://www.fanfiction.net/u/12542269/VixenRose1996), and she allowed me to use her story for my next project! This is a the shortest story I've ever worked with, but I loved it so much that I just HAD to see it acted out!
SUMMARY:
Geralt and Cirilla have finally found one another and now make their way to Kaer Morhen to begin Ciri's training. Naturally, things don't go quite so smoothly and they are attacked by a manticore. Ciri just manages to get a wounded Geralt to the nearby village for some aid.
After the cursed day on the mountaintop where he and Jaskier parted ways, Geralt never expected to see the songstress again and he certainly didn't expect for her to help him and Ciri after a monster attack. Now, laid up from injury and needing to hide from Nilfgaardian soldiers still hunting down the young princess, the Witcher is forced to confront his own past regrets.
DETAILS:
1. Due to such a short script, I will give about two weeks to record lines. I've never been TOO strict about deadlines because I understand real life has to come first, however, I also won't wait around forever and will recast if you prove to be unreliable.
2. Please give me emotion and feeling in your audition! I have always leaned more towards voice actors who exhibit true passion in their voice.

Cast List Finalized (and understudies!)
First, let me say how thankful I am that so many people decided to audition for my project! I listened to each and every single one as it came in, and I was always excited when I received an email telling me I had another one. If you have never directed a project before, let me tell you that casting actors is the most stressful part of it. It takes me hours and hours to cast my audio dramas, even small ones like this that only have four characters. My process is more than just listening to each individual audition. When the deadline ends, I go through and listen to every audition over again and shortlist the ones that really catch my ear. Then I go through the shortlisted actors and pull up their individual profiles and listen to several auditions for other projects or demo reels so I can hear their range and see if I will be able to direct a good performance out of them. Then I go back and listen to the original audition a few more times. It's a very long and arduous process, but it is also really rewarding to bring together talented voice actors to bring mine or another writer's work to life. So now I present you with the finalized cast list along with a list of understudies! CAST LIST: Narrator: RandmAxe Geralt: Crit_Magnet Jaskier: VSanders Ciri: Thebravesamwise To all of those cast, I will be sending messages through the project chat along with individual messages to each one of you with more specific instructions and the script all through CCC within the next couple days. UNDERSTUDIES: -Narrator: TerranceW -Geralt: WyeKhang -Jaskier and Ciri: ZeldaBlack Should any of the members of the cast fail to turn their lines in or need to drop out of the project, you will be contacted to take over the role for them. If you do not see your username on either list, please do not be discouraged and please keep auditioning for things. I have a new project currently in the works (the casting call won't be up for a few more months), and some people who auditioned here caught my ear as actors who may be suited for a role there (and there are a lot of them!). Even if you are not fit for a role in one project, your audition may lead you to getting cast in another. Acting is like that. I post new casting calls every few months or so as I am constantly writing and creating, so please feel free to follow me and audition for any of my future projects! I will be posting another update when the finished video is uploaded for anyone who wants to see the final product! The narrator of the story. Because this role carries much of the project, your voice should be smooth and easy on the ears. It is your job to keep readers listening, so give life to the words. Add dramatics when describing an intense line or comedics when recording an amusing line. Do not sound monotone, but add many varying levels. I do NOT want it to sound incredibly formal. Tell me a story. Keep me engaged.
The bite to the right shoulder and deep slashes on his left thigh made by the manticore's claws were both gushing with blood. If Geralt was a man, he'd already have been long dead.
The words "I'm sorry" had always seemed so hollow to Geralt, meaningless platitudes given by violent husbands and inattentive parents. Geralt wasn't a pleasant man but he didn't want to take the easy way out either.
The bard stood in the doorway, clad in a dark blue dress that was plainer than most anything Geralt had ever seen her wear before, with a bowl clutched in her hands.

One of the few surviving Witchers, Geralt is a fierce and formidable man who is capable of defeating monsters left and right. Having previously been promised Princess Cirilla through the Law of Surprise, he now does his best to care for her while making his way to Kaer Morhen to begin her training.
Geralt's only friend (even though he would never admit it out loud) is a bard who began traveling with him when she was a teenager. Several years later, the two of them had a falling out when Jaskier was at the wrong place at the wrong time and Geralt essentially told her that it would be a blessing if he never saw her again.
On the way to Kaer Morhen, Geralt is attacked by a manticore, and none other than Jaskier is there to get him to safety, dress his wounds, and provide nourishment. He attempts to use this time to apologize for his actions, but unfortunately, Geralt is not the best at saying "I'm sorry."

I expected to hear songs about how awful I was. The Cruel, Dirty Wolf, I thought you'd say, unworthy of trust or respect.

Jaskier, a female in this story, is a bard who began traveling with Geralt when she was sixteen. She is the cheery to his brooding and essentially his opposite in nearly every way possible. She is his only friend, even if he won't admit it.
Several years later, the two of them had a falling out when Jaskier was at the wrong place at the wrong time and Geralt essentially told her that it would be a blessing if he never saw her again.
Now reunited again after much time has passed, Jaskier cares for Geralt's wounds and quickly befriends Ciri all while trying to sort out where she and Geralt now stand.

A refugee princess from Cintra, Cirilla is a 14-year-old girl who was promised to Geralt before her birth due to the Law of Surprise. She is a stubborn and somewhat naive child, but Nilfgaard overrunning her country, slaughtering her family, and forcing her on the run have quickly matured her. She has magical abilities, but having only learned of them recently, she still does not know how to control them. She and Geralt were making their way to Kaer Morhen for that exact purpose when they were attacked by a manticore.
Ciri quickly bonds with Jaskier and she does her best to help mend the large rift between her and Geralt.

(practically dragging an injured Geralt) Come on, Geralt, come on! The village is just a little further, we'll get there and get you all patched up! You'll be good as new! Come on!
(when Geralt says he doesn't know how to apologize) You could start with "I'm sorry I was such an arse". I bet that would help.
I had friends before…before all of this. They were common folks. I dressed in pauper's clothes to play jacks with them in the street. I thought they liked me too but when I found them in a refugee camp, they told me that they hated me, had always hated me, and tried to sell me to Nilfgaard.
