The world is changing. Change is hard. But no matter how hard things may seem . . . there is another way.

2 years in the making, the Mythos is a Halo 5 machinima unlike any other. After pouring my heart and soul into this project, myself and the Mythos team are ready to begin production of a one-of-a-kind story; about time, love and our home, but most importantly about people; you and me. This sentiment is forever.

While we are, at the end of the day, another machinima, here at the Mythos team we pride ourselves for telling real stories about real issues, in a fantastical environment. A great story can come from anywhere; we can only hope that you will agree.

But we're missing one thing; you. The revolution is in desperate need of the power of people, and without the aid of the talents of others we won't ever get off the ground. It's important to note that this is purely a creative project by a few friends (exclusively amateurs); this is not anything more than a story to tell. We can only succeed if you have the confidence in yourself, experienced and inexperienced alike; the only qualification is your passion.

But you've waited long enough. A synopsis:

***

The fear of mankind is the key to the future; the UNSC have inherited a united - but grieving - humanity. In the year 2564, years after the Didact's death and the Master Chief's disappearance, the backwater garden-world of Kipos is beset on all sides by the zealous and the selfish. But one faction rises above the others, its leader a man beyond time. His fate is the Galaxy's.

Meanwhile, a desolate military world is inhabited by the untrustworthy yet earnest Jakob; desperately trying to pass his examinations and stay with the only person that seems to care about him. When paranoia becomes reality, the two are separated, Jakob ending up on the war-torn Kipos.

A fish out of water, the new faction finds a new recruit in Jakob, who is of far more significance than he first realises. Leader and soldier clash, Kipos the frontline in a new conflict, but the greatest battle is about to be fought; the one within the young man, who just wants to see his friend again. On a hopeless planet, Jakob must find hope among his new companions . . .

But there is another way.

Hope without mercy, the fear of man furled;

Cathartic heresy. Do you want to change the world?

  • The first week!

It's been one whole week since I decided to publish the casting call, and a long week it's been. I couldn't have asked for better talent that those who have taken their time to interpreting and bringing these characters to life, but the role of Rosencrantz has remain untouched! Another 3 weeks or so to go before the casting call ends, so send any auditions that you want (all are appreciated) and I'll be forced to come to the painful decision of deciding who plays who - until then, I'll be keeping in touch, and don't forget: muta mundum!

Guildenstern

Role assigned to: deleted59808

Both low-energy and low-enthusiasm, Guildenstern is a young man who, in any other story, would have been the protagonist. Fate is fickle, so as fate dawns on a different person, Guildenstern is both emotionally and physically rejected.  Overshadowed by his friends and his family, this reserved and negative person is more confident in his ability than some may assume. The harder decisions come easily.

  • (Lambda leaves the room, Guildenstern dissatisfied): Don't shut that door. He doesn't deserve you.

  • (Cut back to the ending of Guildenstern's tirade against Jakob): Oh, yeah? Well, that's only what your UNCLE thought of you.

  • (Guildenstern ends Jakob's rant about his unlucky run): How about you just - and this may come as a surprise - grow up?

The Sergeant is a man desperately seeking power over his subjects; not out of greed, but out of duty. There is an order to things that he intends to uphold, lest he be the broken link in the chain. But he understands the difficulty of his job; sometimes silly, other times deadly serious, it's hard to pin down his true intentions.

  • You think this is a game, sonny? When terrorists climb from the depths of hell to skewer you with a six-foot spear, you'll wish I was playing around!

  • Oh, Jesus -- give me catharsis, you cold, candy-consuming, molly-coddled cadavers!

  • It's been a long time, my friend. God only knows how handy you would've been, these past few years.

Rosencrantz is at one with himself and the idea of others not liking him. Energy surrounds him, but that can be blinding. A man both absorbed in youth but with the wisdom of age, he is a beacon of hope but also hides something dark under his layers of ego.  A surfer dude of the new age, his words hide poison - but the kind that saves, not the kind that kills.

  • (Rosencrantz pleads to an unimpressed crowd): Come on, dude. When you harness your inner chakra - that beating in your belly - it's like you can do anything. Really. Try it.

  • (Jakob tries to leave, but is stopped by an occupied Rosencrantz): If you could stay around, that would be mucho appreciado.

  • (After being accused of being a spy by Jakob, Rosencrantz snaps): So take a look at yourself and ask; where have YOU been?

A mysterious man who oozes dominance but with an equally short temper. The strongest authority, but with a childish temperament, the Guard exercises extreme prejudice when commanding and culling.  He is not just a force to be feared, but admired as he narrowly avoids the path of cruelty.

  • (The Guard is being threatened, and is told he has until the count of four to state his business): Oh, I see; four seconds to justify my life. How many do you need?

  • (A pleading Jakob asks why he doesn't worry about being in danger, from spies and terrorists alike): Jesus; that's because I'm going to kill everyone here before that happens. It's simple.

  • (Urging Jakob closer, he tries to sound soothing): Come closer. Needn't be afraid; we're not savages.

Terminal

The result of a lack of empathy and new-age mollycoddling, the new Terminal machine is anything but modern. Created by a foreign third party that had little care of quality, over the years the lack of maintenance of the Terminal has left it, or rather her, with some new personality quirks; even as Jakob tries to find solace in her, she can never fully be seen as a person.

  • (Robotic, opening line): How may I assist you?

  • (Protocol opening after a rough storm): Emergence imminent. Blast doors opening.

  • (In response to a provocation by Jakob) I can't let you do that.
