The Eye of Merlin
Project Overview
Hello! I am currently a theatre student in my third year of university. I have recently taken a Playwriting course. That being said, I would like to make full audio productions of each of my plays so that I might share them easily with other people, especially those who are not inclined to reading scripts!
This story is about Ben, a teenage boy who has been magically transported back in time to Camelot. He is locked in the dungeon of Morgana, the evil sorceress. Using the magical eye of Merlin, the only tool capable of taking him home to his present time and the only tool Morgana needs to destroy Arthur, he defeats evil.
It is not a very long script, but it is a fun one!

A boy in his late teens (17-19). He has been transported back in time to the land of Camelot. He has been told by a ghost Merlin that he needs to retrieve the eye of Merlin in order to get home to his time.
I’m not toying with you Morgana. I don’t have the Eye. Now let me go!

That. Was. Awesome! Man, this thing packs a punch. I wonder if I can keep it and teach those assholes at my school a lesson or two… Alright, I’ve had enough of Albion for a while. It’s time to go home. I have to get to Camelot.
30. She is the half-sister of King Arthur Pendragon of Camelot. A powerful enchantress who will do anything to destroy Arthur.
Let you go? What a silly request. I will let you go when you give me what I want.
Such strong words for such a small boy. You really must learn not to play with fire, or you might get yourself burned. You forget who it is you are dealing with Ben. I am not to be toyed with.
Do not make such fun, boy. My name is feared across the land. The very mention of me will bring an icy cold to the hearts of those who hear it. Do not think for one moment that I cannot freeze your heart right where you stand.
This role is basically the narrator of the show.
We are in the dungeon of Morgana's castle. It is a tall stone room with no windows. The walls are dark grey stone, weathered by time and dripping with moss. Prisoner cells line the far wall. Most are empty. One cell has a skeleton chained to the wall. Ben is in another cell. There are torches on the stone pillars, giving off a faint glow.
Morgana grabs the bread off of the plate and reaches through the cell bars, offering it to Ben. Ben stares at it, unmoving.
Morgana closes her eyes, trying to focus her energy on her magic. She begins to move her hands in a mystical way. Ben reaches into his back pocket and pulls out the Eye of Merlin. He is ready.
