Kaufmo's Funeral- an Amazing Digital Circus Audio Drama

Project Overview

Ever wonder what was being said during Kaufmo's funeral in episode 2? Well that's what this project is about!

Kaufmo's Funeral (Working Title) Is a TADC Audio Drama which fills in the blanks of what was said during the funeral of Kaufmo. Pretty simple concept, but one that I'm excited to pull off.

As a note: I'll be doing the role of Kinger, so he's not in this casting call.

You have to be 18+ or older for this project, so please put your age in the audition. (Not that it's NSFW though)

We'll be communicating via Discord exclusively, so please put your Discord in your audition somewhere so I may reach out to you for communication, as you'll be provided a script for this via discord, as well as sent a server invite link for this project as soon as the decisions are made. (Which is actually already written up!)

For Microphone quality: All you need to have is little background noise, little echo, literally any type of mic (computer mic in closet, USB mic, anything) it just needs to be decent.

Lines for this Audition should be recorded in AAABBBCCC format. (Unless it's a longer line, then you may go for 2 takes)

You're also allowed to add lines if you want to, have fun with it!

Also, if you are cast, you will be that character in any future TADC content (if you wish to return).

For this, due to the more serious tone, I would like to do live recording sessions with you if you're cast. It's not required, but just know it is something I'd like to do!

As a note, we'll be working with the personalities and context of the characters from Episode 2 due to where this is placed in the story.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR TADC AS A WHOLE IN THESE AUDITION LINES, AS WELL AS IN THE VOCAL DIRECTION

But the most important thing is to just have fun!

The newest member of the Circus, Pomni!
Pomni is a 25 year old woman who originally worked as the accountant of a supermarket chain before being dropped in the Circus.

By episode 2, Pomni is a nervous, anxious, lightly snarky, person, who's simply just trying to survive and find her place within the circus. At this point in the story, she also just saw the one person she truly connected with vanish into thin air. She does slowly realize that she has people who care about her and are willing to support her and each other throughout the course of this audio drama.

For Pomni, since these lines are from across the series, keep your tone light yet mature, and just have fun with it. Pomni's voice is fairly typical in the grand scheme of things.

You can base it off of Lizzie Freeman's Pomni, or try your own spin on the character!

Ragatha, ol cheerful, positive Ragatha.

A people pleaser due to years of parental abuse, she's a gal that always tries to remain positive, and be there for absolutely everyone, to the point of basically degrading herself in the process. She just wants everyone to like her.

She was a 30 year old accountant before she got dropped into the circus.

In episode 2, Ragatha is slowly starting to feel like she's disappointing Pomni, but she's still trying to be as peppy and cheery as she is in the pilot.

Of course, since the audition lines are from across the series, be prepared to show some emotion, but Ragatha's voice should feel like a bouncy house, light, yet with weight put on it, but bouncy nevertheless. You can base it off of Amanda Hufford's Ragatha, or try your own spin on the character!

Gangle, the two face of the circus.

A woman with a body made up of string, and a face made up of the comedy and tragedy masks of theatre. Gangle has her happy and her sad mask, with the mask she wears making Gangle feel whatever mood the mask represents. Sadly her happy mask is very consistently broken.

Gangle was a 26 year old manager at a fast food place, with dreams of becoming an artist. She's an emotional gal with a desire to be truly seen and be creative to her heart's content. She's a person with a cheerful soul, but is forced to be sad due to everything she's been dealt.

In episode 2, Gangle is just the "crybaby" archetype, but she is sad about Kaufmo abstracting. There's not much else to say about Gangle at this point.

Of course, since the audition lines are from across the series, be prepared to show some emotion, but Gangle's voice should be very high pitched, but that can fluctuate drastically in tone. You can base it off of Marissa Lenti's Gangle, or try your own spin on the character!

Zooble, the new age Mr (or Ms.) Potato Head.

A non binary adult who has severe body dysmorphia, which, in the circus, represents itself as Zooble having the ability to swap their body parts any time they want. Despite this, Zooble is never happy with the parts they choose, causing them to hate their body, and therefore, themselves. Zooble is a person who has a lot of passion for supporting anyone who cares about them, and will show a lot of venom to anyone who denies her of the peace she wants. They're caring, kind, but in a more mellow way. They do get annoyed very easily, and have a very short temper.

Zooble was a 22 year old Tattoo Artist and Bartender before being dropped into the circus.

In Episode 2, Zooble is a pretty mellow person, but with a caring side that is pretty much on display. They're tired of the circus and just wants to be left alone for the most part. Easily annoyed as ever though.

Of course, since the audition lines are from across the series, be prepared to show some emotion, but Zooble's voice should have a low tone, and feel very grounding in nature. You can base it off of Ashley Nichols's Zooble, or try your own spin on the character!

Caine, the ringmaster, the showman, the great puppeteer.

Caine is an AI designed to simply be creative, and create anything he can think of from an info pool he was fed a long time ago.

Caine is a loud, boisterous, and simply showman like character. He's dramatic, although he's very, VERY self conscious, and pretty unaware of the desires and true feelings of others around him. He simply wants to be liked by everyone else, as he was created for the sole purpose of making adventures, and he'll do anything to make people like the adventures he puts them on.

In episode 2, Caine is simply the ringmaster type. He's a little nervous about people disliking him, but not by that much. He's still silly, loud and playful. 

Of course, since the audition lines are from across the series, be prepared to show some emotion, but Caine's voice should be able to maintain a very showman-like, deep tone, but with a voice that can fluctuate, and easily become serious, and even break. You can base it off of Alex Rochon's Caine, or try your own spin on the character!

Bubble. It's Bubble.

There's really not much known about Bubble that is actually concrete (besides being in a constant state of pregnancy)

Bubble is a bubble who is constantly by Caine's side, being a sidekick and assistant to him.

He's unpredictable, silly, and very "goblin" esque.

Bubble's voice should be silly. It should be goofy and whimsical. As a note, you can have any voice type for Bubble. A male voice, a female voice, anything. It just should be silly. You can base it off of Gooseworx's Bubble, or you can go for your own take!

Jax, the "funny one".

He's a 22 year old guy with a past he refuses to share due to being incredibly emotionally insecure. The mask that Jax puts on is one of an asshole. He beats people up, abuses them, and claims to not care about anyone's feelings and simply does what is funny to him. He claims to be manipulative, calculating, and awful. He loves violence and anything that allows him to be the worst to anyone around him. However, inside? He's a guy who simply wants to be able to be chill, funny, and just... himself around. Due to losing friends, and probably more, he's terrified of being seen. He does everything he can to pretend he doesn't care about others, because in reality, he does. Deeply. He wants friendship, he wants to be without the mask, but he's afraid to. So he keeps it on. He's cynical, and he's flawed.

By episode 2, Jax is just an asshole. He's rude, manipulative, but he also does have a side that shows that he hates showing human emotions (in fact, that's why he doesn't show up to the funeral in the first place. As a side note, it's also stated that Jax was good friends with Kaufmo, but that something likely happened between them.)

Of course, since the audition lines are from across the series, be prepared to show some emotion, but Jax's voice should be very snarky, rude, and with a little bit of sleaze. Not too much though, as his tone does fluctuate depending on how he feels. You can base it off of Michael Kovach's Jax, or try your own spin on the character!
