Detective Torrance hosts her own radio show. On her show, she presents facts about crime cases and how they connect with other events and such. The time frame is roughly 40's-50's so in order to make sure she is taken seriously she presents herself as a male in the show. Have a slight vintage tone, and keep the male persona in mind when playing this character.
Have a good emotional range and acting ability for this character. Also, feel free to leave in multiple takes! Play around with the delivery of the lines.
