Project Overview

A troubled lady, haunted by the fear of death, visits a mysterious fortune teller. During their session, she discovers the dark secrets her world holds for her fate. Expected run time for this episode is 15 minutes.

I’m fairly flexible with deadlines, but would generally like to have lines by two weeks of casting (the quicker, the better!). If you don’t think you can meet this deadline, please don’t audition. Recording will be done remotely and asynchronously.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 13+ to audition

  • Please be sure your recording doesn’t have any background noise. Good quality mic is recommended.

  • Must have discord to communicate (or be willing to create an account)

  • Please include your discord usernamein your audition.

  • When auditioning, please READ ALL THREE LINES.

  • Please feel free to experiment when recording. Do variations of the lines, ad-lib, all is welcome, interpret the characters your way.

  • Unfortunately at this time we cannot provide monetary compensation, but IMDB credit will be given!

  • Casting update + future opportunity

    Hi everyone!

    I want to thank all of you for auditioning for this project. We received so, so many great and talented auditions this time around and it took hours of deliberation and replaying auditions to select the final cast. It was not an easy decision. But I'd like to congratulate those that were chosen!

    Furthermore, I will be putting casting for another project up very soon, another audio drama, but an original series. There will be 10+ roles, and if you're interested please keep an eye out (either follow to get notified, join the server linked in desc, or dm and I can ping you when it drops!). I'd love the chance to work with some of you in the future.

Male, older adult. He is someone with a smooth and calm voice. He runs a fortune telling service where he can predict and tell people details regarding their deaths — when and how. He always talks to his clients with a kind voice, but whenever things go wrong he starts to panic (which he isn’t the best at concealing) and you can hear the dire worry in his voice, leading to panic in others.

  • (calmly, talking into a tape recorder) Hello, dear heart. Today is the 24th of August, 2012,and I am talking to you at a quite unusual hour because well… I feel weary today. For no particular reason I can pinpoint yet, today feels… strange. Stranger than usual, that is. The air… feels… sickly sweet. Like the smell of rotten fruit swearling the air. I keep seeing an image of a tree, caving under the pressure of its years, the bark decaying while the resin oozes down it, as if the last tears of a corpse. 

  • (worried but reassuringly) Oh you poor thing! you’re completely soaked! Please, come in. Shut the door after you. Don’t want any spirits getting out. (laughs) 

  • (panicked) No… I need more time… I’m not ready… I shouldn’t be here.

  • (calmly) Ever since I can remember, I knew that something was wrong with me. I had this… feeling. Slowly gnawing at the back of my head. Like I’m on a plane crash, and I’m seconds from hitting the ground. I can feel the impact. My bones snapping, my ribs puncturing my lungs and… that sense of dread when you know nothing can save you anymore. I can feel, all of that coming but… it never does. So I guess my whole life I’ve been… bracing at the thought of impact. 

  • (yelling, anxious) Will you please just tell me what’s happening?!
