Steventon Street (Demo)
Project Overview
Steventon Street is Peanut Parade Games' upcoming visual novel/dating sim. These auditions are for the demo, which will be released in tandem with the launch of a kickstarter campaign in March 2020. Depending on the outcome of the kickstarter, this project may become a paying gig. If that happens, there may be another round of auditions. (NOTE that being cast in the demo is not a guarantee that you will cast in the full game.)
Story:
Steventon Street is about a young woman who opens a bookshop on the titular street in the fictional town of Peabody, Maryland. Over the course of a year, she begins to form relationships with the other store owners on her block.

August is the owner of a record store, and a borderline hipster. He's friendly and outgoing, and prone to adorkableness.
"Sorry, you just looked like you'd rather be anywhere else."
"I was raised by my grandparents. My grandma's real big on manners. The other kids made fun of me for writing thank-you notes. Thank-you notes!"
[awkwardly] "I'd like to see you in a casual setting. There could be food and/or music, and we could talk. And then we'd see where things went from there..."
Delilah is the owner of a flower shop. She's caring, though she usually doesn't take things too seriously.
"Yep. I was telling her how you grind bones for your bread."
"I was going to mention the workhouse and the gruel, but I thought that would be too obvious."
[facetiously] "You are a liar and a scoundrel."
Freddie is a tattoo artist, and the main character's ex-boyfriend. After a messy break-up ten years ago, their reunion is uncomfortable. Freddie has a dry sense of humor, though this is only known by those close to him.
"We... went to high school together."
[playfully] "Don't worry about me. I'm a professional."
"I can forgive you for what you did, but I can't be your friend."
Janus (pronounced "Ya-nus"), owns a bar, despite having a master's degree. Janus was the main character's childhood best friend. He is impulsive and flirtatious.
"No offense, Bookworm, but you're kind of a square."
"What else am I going to do with a master's in religious studies? Academia is boring. I'd rather party."
"Well, yeah, but you were always the mature, responsible one."
Slayton is the designated Neighborhood Papa Bear. He has a habit of dad-ing his neighbors, despite being only fifteen years older than most of them. He's practical and very no-nonsense.
"I'm not much of a talker, so..."
"Well, I'm the host and I say you leave whenever you want. I won't think any less of you."
"Unless you can fix my daughter? She keeps making this awful noise..."
Will is the main character's grumpy next-door neighbor who takes an immediate disliking to her. He's arrogant, standoffish and antisocial.
"Can't you watch where you're going?"
"I told you that we shouldn't bother, but you insisted I give her a chance. Well, now I have and I'm completely sure I was right all along."
"We were just discussing Botticelli. Do you have anything of value to add?"
Wyatt is an ex-fratboy who never really outgrew the college lifestyle. He doesn't maintain steady employment and instead gets by on his looks and charm. He rents the main character's spare apartment.
"Nah. It just says the usual stuff, I'm sure. Pay rent on the first of every month, I'm responsible for any damage I cause, yadda yadda."
"Don't worry about it. The sexy librarian thing works on you."
"Aw, that's no fun. You should cut loose. Relax."
Carlos is Will's best friend and business partner. He tends to soften Will's rough edges.
"Calm down. I'm sure she didn't mean to bump into you. Honestly, you're grumpier than usual tonight."
"Will says it shows "community-mindedness," and it's a "good optic." I guess he's not wrong, but his motives are so messed up sometimes..."
Jetta is a bartender at Janus' bar. She's easily confused, but very sweet.
[about a name that is not complicated] "Right. Sorry. It's a complicated name."
"Um... Can I go now?"
Eden is Wyatt's friend, and generally not a very nice person. She's a New Age goth, and spends a lot of time talking about healing crystals and her past lives (despite probably not knowing what she's talking about).
"I was in one of my moods. You know how Geminis can be."
[catty] "Is there an echo in here? Yeah, tonight."
