StarShock (SS) is a fanime/web series about a boy named Mars (his previous name was Shoku but I changed it cause Mars is easier to pronounce) that wakes up in the grass by a cliffside, with nothing but his name and a vague memory of seeing a bright light. He doesn’t know it, but he’s not where he came from. Cheri, a friendly and helpful local, finds him on her walk to school. Concerned, she takes him home and later convinces her parents to take him in, lying and saying he’s a distant cousin that got kicked out. After settling in for a few months, Cheri and Mars form a school club together, the helpers club, where they help students and anyone else that needs it. They eventually get 2 more members, Meg and Dusty. Throughout their adventures they encounter weird happenings and Mars remembers more and more of his past, and of the other club members. Oh yeah, and on this planet, most people have a special ability. It’s usually something mundane but can be something powerful.
It’s lighthearted but might get more intense later on. Nothing too mature (the MCs are just teens after all) but there may be some drama. The main genre here is science fiction & mystery. Estimated episodes are 10-12. Aiming for 1 episode a month, or sooner if I can motivate myself.
This story takes place in the same universe as Aurore, my darker series that will be a comic or VN one day hopefully.
The script is currently being revised but is nearly ready & will be given to VAs when it is.
There are more characters that will be long term than in this casting call (of note are Meg & Dusty, the other 2 characters that will join the club). They will be in my next casting call but in case any role calls out to you I’ll briefly describe them. Meg is very quiet and nervous. She’s very jumpy and prefers to keep to herself. She’s mysterious and prefers to read by herself than be with people. Dustin (Dusty) is a cat boy that has a very tough exterior from his rough childhood. It’s well known not to mess with him or any of his associates.
Cheri Bell, a 14 year old cheerful girl. She’s very agile and peppy. She rolerskates almost everywhere and likes to help people. Her voice is high and happy.
“Hi! Oh, let me carry that for you.”
“This is my house. My parents own a bakery. I’m sure they won’t mind if some stranger stays with them. They’re kinda irresponsible.”
Mars Lugo, a 16 year old boy who is clumsy and unsure of himself. He doesn’t remember much about his previous life before his amnesia. He’s fond of nature and plants.
“Oww my head… agh! Who are you?”
“I just feel homesick. It’s so stupid, I’m longing for a place that I don’t even know about.”
Some short term background voices (these are just random neighboury ppl saying hi to Cheri in the opening scene, and her parents just saying “yeah, sure”. They’ll prob never show up again cause they are busy characters)
