STARKHEIM CALLS FOR (voice) AID!
Hello everyone,
After long, six years of development on our project, we are ready to open a casting call for the initial cast of our game, Starkheim Tournament! The game is almost ready to launch as an early access title, and we'd like to spice up the characters with voice acting.
What is Starkheim Tournament?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1231070/Starkheim_Tournament/
Starkheim Tournament is a 2D fighting game set in a fantasy universe with a pixel-art style. Featuring simplified, easy-to-learn controls, it’s designed to be instantly accessible and quick to master.
It is our very first project, our very first game, of many games we'd like to release to the world. It's a response to people being afraid of playing fighting games due to their complicated nature - Starkheim offers same depth of gameplay regular fighting games give off, while making controls as simple as possible.
We have presented the game on many conventions, letting people of all backgrounds try the game themselves, and we've got positive feedback not only from seasoned fighting games players, but also from people who were experiencing the game controller for their first time. This is a sign that our vision works, and our goal is a righteous one :)
What are we looking for?
Starkheim is a fighting game, so we are looking for a wide net of emotions and determination for battle. (Our characters will "hyah!" and "ugh!" a lot during the game) Each character is a different palette of goals, emotions and attitudes, take a look at the list of available characters to see which one you vibe with the most.
To try to keep the game as professional as possible (Considering our cirsumstances too) we're looking for someone who's comfortable with grunts and shouts, and who can record clean audio files for us - we can't offer profession audio cleanup yet. But if needed, we will add effects and enhance the voice files, so we're looking just for clean audio files.
Our current plan is to finish the main gameplay loop, which means just the audio for combat sequences. However, in the future we'd like to add a story mode, in which we might need additional lines or reactions from the characters. Details on that part will be disclosed later with willing actors.
Should you accept the mission, our main channel of communication is Discord, where we will further communicate with actors regarding their roles, visions, and in general to get to know each other. We can also keep in touch via email, though Discord would be recommended if possible.

The deadline set on the project is before a next major event we'd like to present the game on, but this is a light deadline - it is not strict, it's for looking for actors. Don't worry if that date is breached :)
Actually, who are we again?
Project MOX is a little team of passionate amateur individuals, whose dream is to make games for people. None of us are professionals, we have no game development background past this project, but we're keeping things as professional as need be.
Games are our passion, and we believe they should be treated on equal terms as other art mediums. We also believe that games can be experienced by everyone, and shouldn't be gate-kept by a threat of high skill requirement. Our mothership project already proves that to be true - Starkheim Tournament got a lot of positive feedback from many people who tried the game on conventions.
The gamedev work we're doing is, for now, our side-gig. All few of us work different jobs, but our goal is to do this for a living in the future. Because of this, our project is extremely low budget. Still, we believe the talent deserves recompensation, so we're not planning on leaving volounteers empty-handed.
What's in it for you?
As mentioned in the part above, Starkheim Tournament is made with a very low budget. We're not happy with an idea of asking you for your help just for an opportunity to have your voice heard, but there's not a lot we can offer. What we can give you in return for your amazing voice:
The rate we're offering on each character listed
Every voice actor is guaranteed a copy of the game, pre-release
Of course you will be credited in-game for your talent
We're happy to open an IMDb page to credit you for your work there too! Anything we can do to help you reach further into voice acting career
If the offer sounds interesting for you, let's work together - let's make our dream game a reality!
