Hello there! Welcome to the casting page for our upcoming Minecraft animation, Starfall!
My name’s Samuel Kyber, an animator at Black Plasma Studios. We currently have over 6,000,000 subscribers and create original Minecraft animated content including the original fantasy animation series, Songs of War.
Starfall is a science fiction Minecraft animation set in an original universe. The world is split into various factions competing for control. We follow two characters as they explore and experience what this world has to offer. These auditions are for a single animation but I plan to continue the story if the project is successful, so for major characters this could potentially lead to future work! As such, I’m looking for people who can work with us far into the future.
We're looking for talented voice actors to portray the characters in Starfall. Ideally, we'd like to find actors who are genuinely interested in the project and the characters. All roles are in the English language.
REQUIREMENTS
1) Experience or talent in voice acting.
2) Clean recording quality! No audible pops, static, background noise, or room echo!
3) Ability to perform serious, cinematic, and potentially emotional acting.
4) Interest in the project and characters.
5) Ability to raise voice or yell if a character requires it and still retain high quality.
Casting ends on March 18th!
We need to receive all lines back from voice actors fairly soon after casting closes. If you are unable to record in March, please do not audition. However, this deadline may be flexible for minor characters.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
If you are successful in your audition, I will talk to you a bit more about your character in whichever way you find most convenient (Discord, email etc.) through text or voice chat. I strongly recommend Discord as this is where I coordinate the production.
After sending the script, I will ask for a few small samples of the character to really ensure you have the correct voice and setup before recording. There may also be cases where lines will need to be re-recorded if there are mistakes or problems with the audio. Notes regarding how to record, noise removal, file type etc. will be listed at the beginning of the script.

Owen is a fun and relaxed outcast. He grew up in the outer colonies and worked as a bounty hunter for many years. However, he didn’t favour that lifestyle and elected to move into faction-controlled space. Events long past have moulded him into quite an isolated individual. Through his skills as a pilot and engineer, he leads a very independent lifestyle collecting salvage to repurpose or sell. Being creative and pragmatic gives him the ability to solve problems quickly making him quite the confident man. He enjoys physical risk and ‘getting his hands dirty’ so to speak. Owen built his robot companion CHIP himself through scrap he salvaged over the years. His relationship with CHIP is fun and full of personality. Owen and Keira have a very strong bond, though their views on how society should work differ greatly.

Keira is a confident, extroverted individual. As a bounty hunter, her perceptive tendencies give her an edge when dealing with the dangers she encounters. Keira’s species is one of honour, but she tends to live outside the norm making her an outcast among her own people. Being more in tune with the chaotic nature of the outer colonies, she's not a believer in authority and likes the freedom to do things her way. Her relationship with Owen dates back to when he used to live in the outer colonies himself. They’ve worked together on several occasions forming a strong and playful bond along the way. Her true intentions remain a mystery.
(playful) Can I not simply visit my beloved friend? (switching to sympathetic) And besides, it looks like you need the work.
(sarcastic) I can see why you like it here. All these rules are exhausting.
(loud, urgent) Owen! Get down!!
Affiliation: Strider (Leader)
Weapons: Energy Cannon
Gharn is as calm as he is ruthless. An intelligent being who’s as likely to kill you as he is to hire you. He isn’t phased by death and would mercilessly kill someone if they were no longer of use to him. Gharn has been loyal to the Striders for centuries, working his way to the top of the guild. Years of bounties and other devious assignments haven’t been kind to him, thus resorting to repairing his body through cybernetics.
(curious) You want my Striders. *sniggers* A fair request, if you have the coin.
[responding to someone claiming they will not disappoint again]
(sinister) Your contract has expired.
(conclusive) How...unfortunate. You may have a spark of tenacity, but it will be your downfall.

Works at an Arcturan Union controlled spaceport. Authority figure. Has had previous encounters with Owen dealing with his petty crimes.
(slightly sarcastic) Let's see here...several accounts of thievery, multiple parking violations, a run in with the Arcturan security forces and a mild case of vandalism...need I go on?

(assertive) Do your business and leave.
