Hello! I'm a solo game dev looking for some voice talents to work with me to deliver a professional-looking game. :)
This project is called Soulbond, a dark visual novel settled in Hell, and it's currently under development (but a playable demo is already out!).
Warning
The story may contain sensible themes, so if you're uncomfortable with any of these, I'd advise you against applying! Here are the themes:
Grief, death of loved ones;
Suicide;
Mentioned cannibalism;
Blood, described violence;
Religious thematics;
Strong language;
Prostitution and sexually suggestive topics.
!!! It is not a NSFW project and there are no explicit scenes !!!
How it'll work
You won't be asked to voice the entire project, but rather to do simpler short voice clips with generic one-three worded phrases like some from Danganronpa. I will provide the phrases and intonations I would like to be in each, with one or two specific longer phrases.
I'm planning on releasing the game by chapter, so I would like to continually order voice clips for this project! In total, there'll be four chapters.
Payment
I'll be adding this note to each role as well, but the hourly estimate isn't settled, so I'd like to hear from you about your usual rates for this kind of work! I'm looking to pay per script word, at a minimum of 50 USD per VA.
As said before, I'm a solo dev, so I may need a little time to save funds - however, as this is a commercial project, I'd like to pay (and credit inside the game) everyone involved. Please consider the commercial aspect as well when talking about rates!

I've dismissed all those off the shortlists for now - thanks again to all the actors who submitted auditions, they were all amazing and I really appreciate your time and interest! You made the choosing process really difficult for me hahaha!
I'm currently contacting some VAs to talk about their prices and working on the script for each character. Hopefully, I will also be assigning the chosen ones to their respective roles on the project page around next week when everything is more defined. :)

Deadline approaching!
Hello everyone!
I'm thrilled with the amount of auditions and interest in this project; there are so many talented individuals submitting auditions, and I greatly appreciate everyone's time! As we've now surpassed 1000+ [auditions], I won't be able to respond to everyone, but I'll be dismissing those who haven't been selected to update them on the project's status, and I'll be reaching out to the chosen ones and/or those shortlisted early next month.
I'm currently listening to all auditions and shortlisting those who best fit the characters, and it's been quite a tough job to decide so far (and there's still some hours left!!!). Once again, thank you all very much for taking the time to submit your character interpretations!

Belac is a supporting character. He is a powerful demon and the absolute authority on quality and refinement in Hell. He is extremely arrogant, blunt, and carries himself with an imposing, rustic severity.
His voice should be deep, gravelly, and gruff. He speaks with a natural, commanding authority, often with a tone of impatience or disdain, as if everyone around him is incompetent.

As Gabriel is a Black character, I highly encourage Black and African-American voice actors to audition for this role!
As an archangel, Gabriel exudes a calm and cold demeanor, nearly devoid of emotion, resembling a machine more than an angel. His stoicism hides a hidden agenda that leaves those around him uneasy. He operates with detached precision, calculating and methodical in his actions.
His voice is deep, ethereal, and soothing, but despite its angelic tone, there's a chilling emptiness that adds to the unease he instills in others.

*IMPORTANT: This role requires singing. The style is jazzy/melancholic. I’ll provide you with the song if you’re chosen (you can price it separately from the script)! Please attach a sample of your singing when applying.
As Marko is a Black character, I highly encourage Black and African-American voice actors to audition for this role.
Marko is a human soul living under the "protection" of Lord Belac, for whom he sings in a high-end restaurant.
He is defiant, sharp-tongued, and refuses to be seen as a mere victim. He has developed a cynical and ironic shell to survive being the only human living among demons.
For his speaking voice, think mid-to-low range, with a sharp and cynical edge. He's weary of his situation but not broken. There's a fire and defiance in his tone.
Note: This character is foul-mouthed and often curses. If you’re uncomfortable with this, please let me know.

His voice should sound strained, tired, and melancholic, as if on the verge of screaming at any moment. He has a nuanced main characteristic, looking for hope while resigned to the end.

Saqal is a minor supporting character. She is a demon of Wrath, and it shows. She is perpetually annoyed, foul-mouthed, and has zero patience for her job, her coworkers, or anyone who gets in her way. Among her colleagues, she is the most likely to start a fight or curse someone out.
Her voice should be perpetually on edge, with a short-tempered and overall hostile energy.
Note: This character often curses and will do so in parts of the script. If you’re uncomfortable with that, please let me know!

His voice should be overall mean, somewhat enunciated like a bully’s, sounding at times a bit reedy or nervous. When irritated, it becomes slightly whiny.

He's calm and introspective, with a serious demeanor. While he may present rather cold and distant, he has a set of morals that are similar to a human's, being a trustworthy individual.
His voice is melancholic and lifeless, delivered in a very monotone manner, but somehow reassuring.

Fueled by envy and resentment, the Marquis masks his true feelings behind anger; an aggressive and always defensive demon, difficult to deal with. Despite his tendency to be a bit of a jerk, those who know him well recognize him as the "best" among the nobility, possessing a heart of gold hidden beneath layers of resentment.
His voice is raspy and strong, often aggressive and bitter. Despite the toughness, there's warmth and sincerity in it.
