Project Overview

Sonic Underground: War on Mobius, is an independent continuation project of the 1999 DiC animated series, "Sonic Underground." The 1999 series was cancelled due to production negligence on DiC Entertainment's part and was left at a cliffhanger after the 40th episode was completed, where it laid abandoned and dead for over 25 years. The show became famously notorious for it's really troubled production, despite it's mixed reception, and later small cult-following in the 21st century.

For this continuation series, I plan on keeping many elements of the 1999 series completely untouched, as this is solely a continuation, and not a reboot, unlike most fan-related SU media. The series will follow the same formula, with the triplets: Sonic, Sonia, and Manic on a quest to find their mother, in order to fulfill the prophecy told by the Oracle of Delphius, stating that they will form the Council of Four, ending Dr. Ivo Robotnik's reign of terror across Mobius.

Any help is appreciated! The only people currently working on this project is me and my best friend, as this is very new. We are looking for Sonic fans, like us, who see the same lost potential that we did with the original show, and want to finally give a proper book-end to this amazing idea. (THEIR MOTHER WILL BE FOUND THIS TIME!! XD)

This is non-paid! We have big plans for this, and want to bring together this dream-team to make this project mainstream and on a broad level, with full-length episodes being made and uploaded online. If the project comes to that point of mainstream profit, I do plan on switching this to a paid project.

Our main goal for now is to get the 1-minute opening intro done for a start, so we can experiment and see where we need to go from there.

  • Audition Phase Over + Discord Server!

    Hello, Mobians!

    Today, the Casting Call finally ended after over a month, and me and my co-creator, after long consideration, have officially decided on all of the roles.

    We will be, and have already, sent out off-site Discord messages congratulating the people who got the role(s) for making it.

    Don't fret yet, though!

    We are still fishing for background voice actors, and people for other sporadic roles (VA's, editors, etc) along the way.

    There will be a second casting call coming for animators / artists as we will be needing a lot more of them to begin production with our goal of kicking things off with a recreation of the original opening sequence for Sonic Underground.

Sonic The Hedgehog is an anthropomorphic hedgehog and the crown prince of Mobius who travels and search for his mother, Queen Aleena, and stop Dr. Robotnik with the help of his younger triplet siblings Sonia and Manic, whom he had a band with. He is also the leader of the Sonic Underground and one of the last leaders of the Freedom Fighters along with Manic and Sonia.


We are looking for someone who can do a good replication voice of Jaleel White's work as Sonic in the 90s cartoons.

Sonia the Hedgehog is one of the main characters in the Sonic Underground television series. She is an anthropomorphic hedgehog, the middle triplet sister of Sonic and Manic the Hedgehog, and the only daughter of Queen Aleena.

She is also a member of the Sonic Underground and one of the current leaders of the Freedom Fighters along with Sonic and Manic.


We are looking for someone who can closely mimic Jaleel White's voice work for Sonia in the 1999 series, that can put on Sonia's signature semi-raspy, valley girl type voice.

Uncle Chuck is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog and the adoptive uncle of Sonic the Hedgehog. He was a high-ranking member of the Resistance stationed in Robotropolis until he was captured by Dr. Robotnik's forces and roboticized.


In my continuation series, there is a storyline set where Uncle Chuck will become a main side character as the series progresses.


I'm looking for a voice actor who can put on a playful, grandpa-figure type voice. I'll also need them to be apart of the crew long-term, as I plan for this project to be very time-consuming and broad.

Tails is an anthropomorphic fox who is set to appear in Sonic Underground: War on Mobius.


He appears somewhere in the planned Season 2 of the show, where he is found by Queen Aleena and taken in. In this series, Tails lived with his parents, Amadeus and Rosemary Prower in Knothole for the better part of 4 years, but they were roboticized (in front of him) due to not giving into the Robotnik rebellion, despite being Aristocrats. Tails' role is mostly present in a lot of emotional scenes, with Aleena finding a lot of comfort by taking care of Tails, as she couldn't do so with her triplets due to the prophecy.


I'm looking for a voice actor (no specific gender) who can do the signature raspy Tails voice. Tails had a distinct voice in the official Sonic television series', but I'm specifically looking for someone who can do the MODERN Tails voice.

Cyrus is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is a friend of the Freedom Fighters and a highly driven tech expert due to his past. Cyrus is an old friend of Sonic's who he "coincidentally" meets. Cyrus was secretly working for Dr. Robotnik to prevent his father, Lionel, from being roboticized.


In the 2024 continuation series, Cyrus is set to take a main-side character role as the main operator of the Freedom Fighters. He is mostly seen in his garage, where he works with scientist Gazebo Boobowski to keep the resistance against Robotnik up and running! He is usually the one to give orders to the triplets for where they need to go, new projects Robotnik has been working on to stop the resistance from continuing, and more!


I'm looking for a late-teen to young-adult voice that has a cool, confident tone, similar to the Cyrus from the 1999 series.

Sleet is one of the two secondary antagonists in the Sonic Underground television series. He is a bounty hunter who works under Dr. Robotnik.

Because of his partner Dingo's incompetence, Sleet often uses him only for his useful ability to change into anything with the touch of Sleet's Shapeshift Remote, while Sleet thinks of and plans the missions to stop the Sonic Underground. Sometimes, he and Dingo think of plans that make them turn on Robotnik, but these never go well.
