Sonic: C O U N T E R P A R T is a fanstory that follows the canon of Sonic CD all the way until Sonic Adventure 2. However, one of the characters runs into the villain and manipulates the entire plot. It's a fanfiction based off speculation. What if Amy met Eggman instead of Sonic at Neverlake?
