Solo Leveling Comic Dub [Chapter 1 - Chapter 10]
Project Overview
SOLO LEVELING COMIC DUB
Introductory Remarks:
Hello, this casting call is for Chapter 1-10 of the popular manhwa 'Solo Leveling.' I have not seen any other dubs of this manhwa, so I decided to do one myself. This will be my first official comic dub and project overall, and I've decided to go in with something big. Even with my inexperience, I will do my very best to ensure that this project will be a success.
Info on Solo Leveling:
Solo Leveling is a South Korean web novel written by Chugong. It was serialized in Kakao's digital comic and fiction platform KakaoPage since July 25, 2016, and later published by D&C Media under their Papyrus label since November 4, 2016. It follows the tale of Sung Jin-Woo, the world's weakest hunter, and his journey to becoming then strongest hunter in the world.
The Process:
This project is a non profit, fanmade dub. The uploading schedule will be discussed should I be able to find other editors. As of now, I am the only editor for it, and am still in a sort of learning process. Nevertheless, once a schedule is set, the episodes will definitely come out in accordance with the deadline. Videos will be uploaded onto my youtube channel as a series. All those involved in this project will be given proper credit.
What I'm looking for:
Dedicated Voice actors and Editors who are willing to stick around in the project. Some character appear again in later parts of the story, and I'd appreciate if the same voice actors would be willing follow this project throughout the entire course of the story. For voice actors, a moderately good mic is required, as I can help do some audio editing, however it would be optimal for you to be able to edit your own audio.
A reminder: This is a non profit fanmade project, and I cannot pay to those involved. However, appropriate amount of credit, and respect will be given. It is advised to have already read the manhwa, or read it after hopping on to understand the context behind lines
All in all, as professional as I'm trying to sound, I'm just a guy who likes voice acting, and likes the Solo Leveling comic, and I hope likeminded people can also join me in making this project a success!

Seeing as there are still no auditions for the two more main roles, I will extend the deadline by two days. I will also start asking those who have already auditioned to try out the roles.

Update 1
Four days left! However, two of the bigger roles still have no auditions. Should there still be no auditions near the deadline, I'm afraid I'll have to push the deadline back. Also, weirdly enough, I can't find the casting call on the front page anymore? Not sure about the problem behind this, I'll work on figuring it out. Thank you to all those who have auditioned so far!
Lee Ju-Hee is a recurring character throughout the story, she sort of loses significance by the midway point however does make reappearances every now and then. She is very caring, but also assertive towards Sung Jin-Woo. Her voice should be warm, but also bubbly and sort of high pitched. Key things to note: A cheerful girl who worries for those she cares about.
[These lines are from different scenes, however they are all said in a caring way, where Ju Hee is showing concern towards Sung Jin Woo]
(I'd like to hear the affection in your voice for this, as being caring towards Jin Woo is a big part of the role)
"If you're that sorry...How about treating me for some food?"
"Of course! That's not the problem! Why is your face hurt again!"
"I'm not saying this as an apology! I'm just worried"
[Absolute fear, what's happening is absolute fear and panic]
(This is a serious, grim scene from the manhwa, covey that emotion)
*Make sounds of panic: Panting, soft crying, running away from something*
"Jin Woo! KYAAAK!" (You're crying and calling out to Jin Woo)
"Jin Woo!? Are you Okay!?"
[You ended up having to join the party raid, even though you were one of the people who voiced out not wanting too, you are also worried for your companion and nag him in this scene]
(This scene is played in a comedic way, so sound pissed, but not dramatically on the verge of beating the hell out of someone pissed)
"To be honest...NO. I AM DEFINITELY NOT OKAY."
"Are you insane?? Just now, if you'd been stabbed a little above, you'd have a hole in your heart! And that's not even considering! What even made you say yes huh? Did you also hurt your head?"
Song Chi-Yul is an experienced hunter. Even as a C-rank hunter, he seems way more experienced than higher rankers in his field. He is a confident, experienced man, however this time, his confidence ends up causing him great trouble. He keeps a cool head and a brave demeanor. He should sound like a mature old man, who is a leader. His voice should convey someone you'd be willing to follow and train under.
[Convincing others to follow him into a secret boss room]
(You should be sounding confident here, but not cocky.)
"Are you going to return empty-handed after coming here?"
"We could be the first ones to enter this dungeon... Those who want to leave can go. I'm going in alone if I must."
[Warning someone of imminent danger]
(This scene is a shouting scene, I'd just like to hear you convey both worry and panic, while still being assertive)
"Stop!!! Don't put your hands on the handle!!!"
"What are you doing?! Don't Move!!!"
[You're accepting the consequences of your choice]
(I'd like to hear acceptance for your mistake, but also the tiniest hint of "dear god, I don't wanna do this")
"Mr Kim is Right. I must take responsibility."
"I want to go by myself, so please take that away from me."
Kim Sang Shik is a middle aged man. Early on in the story he is confident, but not cocky, and sounds like he has experience as a hunter. After certain events, he'll turn into a person filled with regret and fear. The key things to deliver in this role is this feel of a friendly, average man who has experience in his field.
[You're meeting up with an old companion]
"Didn't you leave because you didn't want to become a hunter?"
"Bro, Sung is considered to be the weakest hunter after all"
[You're in a panicked situation, not knowing what to do and completely in fear]
"I also have a family."
"I don't want to die here."
[You are filled with remorse, and regret after a traumatic experience]
"Although I don't know if he'll forgive us,"
"No, even if there's no way he'll forgive us, I'll still apologise."
Park Gi-Sool is around the same age as Kim Sang-Shik. He sounds more happy go lucky, and you get the sense that he's not that professional. He's a father of two and is only returning temporarily before completely retiring.
[You're meeting up with an old friend]
"It's been a while"
"I'm worried... It's been so long that I might fall behind"
[You're curious about someone who just showed up]
"That man, is he a powerful hunter? Everyone seem's happy to see him"
[You're running away from danger, thinking to yourself]
"I can't die here!"
"I'm finally determined to be a father of two, but this..."
Random coffee dude, who was on the construction site of the raid. He looks young in manhwa, and seems pretty chill.
[You're wishing a hunter luck for their raid.]
"Here, good luck on your raid today."
[You're out of coffee, and ya boy Jin-Woo is trying to pull up for some coffee]
"Ah, Hunter Sung Jin-Woo. I'm sorry, all the coffee ran out just now..."
[Contemplating about the Raid]
"It's just... Hunter Sung Jin-Woo... I'm a little bothered that we couldn't give him any coffee."
Unnamed hunter who's main ability is his speed. He seems confident in himself and is adamant in not dying. However he does not listen to others who are warning him not to attempt escaping
[You are trying to get through some doors, but are being blocked by a powerful being]
"I won't die like this. I finally joined a big guild, so I can't die here"
"Yeah! I can do it! I'm confident in my own speed."
"I'll go through that door in an instant!"
Another unnamed hunter. Imagine big guy who doesn't give a crap and decides to make his own decisions.
[You were told that you had to stay trapped in the room, but you won't listen to any of that crap]
"Damnit, I can't stand this anymore"
"You guys are all spouting nonsense, it was a mistake to even come here."
"I'm leaving!"
An unnamed religious hunter who offered himself as the man to praise the lord. He should sound preachy.
[You're reciting lines to a monstrous being, trying to use the lord's prayer to save you]
"I can be the one to worship the lord."
"I shall also walk with my lord above."
"From within the lord's love."
Extras, I'll be casting both male and female for this role, and one person will voice more than likely voice more than one extra character. As long as you have good delivery, an and okay mic quality, with good range of voices, you will be able to be casted as an extra.
[You are greeting Sung Jin-Woo]
"It's cold out there isn't it?"
[You are agreeing to choose Chi-Yul as your party leader]
"Yes I agree!"
"Count me in as well."
[You are in panic, everything is going badly]
"What are we gonna do!?"
"Oh god I need to get out of here."
"We're all gonna die!"
Although I'm the one editing the comic dubs for now, I'm still quite unexperienced, and a preview can be has been provided in the description.
For the editor, I'm looking for someone who can do basic editing and has edited comic dubs before. I will try to find two editors so the workload can be shared between all three of us. The schedule won't be completely time consuming however responsibilities will still expected to be upheld.

I do most of the audio editing myself, however more help would be greatly appreciated.
Most of the editing will be on the audios of the voice actors. Edits of the finalised comic dub will also be made. Not a heavy workload, however responsibilities will still be expected to be upheld.
