Skyfell: A Smash Bros. Story **RECASTING SUPPORTING ROLE**
Project Overview
Far beyond the reaches of the universe, a young princess will soon face her greatest trial. Based on the internationally acclaimed Super Smash Bros. video game series, Skyfell: A Smash Bros. Story is a multi-chapter audio drama that takes heavy inspiration from Hollywood blockbusters akin to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One.
What's the Project About? Skyfell originally began life as an animated series but initially fell through due to lacking the necessary budget required to produce the series. After reworking and retooling the story, it was decided to scale the project down to an audio drama. If the project gains momentum and becomes popular, we may look into producing visuals for the story in the future.
How Long is the Project? Skyfell is a multi-chapter story and currently has 4 chapters written. There are a total of 28 chapters planned for the story. However, the amount of chapters planned could increase or decrease depending on where the story goes.
How Will the Project Be Released? The project will be hosted on our YouTube Channel, with a group of chapters being edited into one video and released as a part. Individual chapters will also be made readily available as downloadable audio files when each part launches so listeners can enjoy their favorite chapters at their leisure!
Goals for the Project: Many of us working on the project grew up loving Nintendo games as children. Skyfell is very much a nostalgia trip for me as I came up with stories whilst playing Smash Bros. Melee all the time when I was little. My overall goal with the project is to produce a story that honors Nintendo's history with a fun, fast-paced adventure that isn't shy of tugging at your heartstrings every once and a while.
- 1) All Actors/Actresses must have a clear microphone or a decent enough microphone so any complications can be edited in post. Make sure you have a pop filter on your microphone to avoid any unwanted noise!
2) This project requires a lot of emotion, so if you plan on auditioning, you should be able to shout, scream, yell, or be as flexible as possible when it comes to your emotional range. If you are cast and would like to have live voice direction, we can make accommodations to help you.
3) Be open to the possibility of deadlines. I'm always willing to extend or discuss when lines are needed. It would also help if you're able to keep up to date with any notifications that are sent your way.- 4) Have either a Skype or Discord account so we can discuss your character and set up live voice directing sessions if your schedule allows it.
- 5) Up to two redos will be allowed should you like any feedback on how to improve with the character. Don't be discouraged if you don't get it right the first time!
6) Most importantly, have fun!!

Supporting Characters!
Three new roles have been listed on the casting call! All three are supporting roles, but will still be featured throughout the series. Best of luck everyone!
Zelda is the main heroine of our story and the titular character from the Legend of Zelda series. Zelda is the daughter of King Daphnes, the King of Hyrule and a member of Palutena's Council. Brought up from a young age to follow in her father's footsteps, Zelda yearns to become of use to her people and finds her chance when her kingdom is brought into ruin. She is also the wielder of the Triforce of Wisdom, an ancient power that she calls upon to summon the Bow of Light.
(giggles) Of course you can come along. I don't think it'd be quite an adventure without you!
(angry/frustrated) All my life you've done nothing but tell me what my purpose is. You claim this is my birthright, yet you never tell me what I'm supposed to be fighting for! How am I supposed to lead Hyrule when you continue to keep secrets from me?!
(pleading) Please! If you can hear my prayer, give me strength! Even if means the end of my life, please! Let me save these people!!
Born of royal blood and torn between two families, Corrin is a fierce warrior and the main protagonist of Fire Emblem Fates. Following the loss of their mother, Corrin ventures with Zelda and company in hopes of finding closure with their inner demons. Armed with a powerful blade and the Dragon Vein, Corrin is capable of transforming into a powerful dragon to aid others in battle.
(screaming / crying) Mother? MOTHER!!!
I choose my own fate. My mother's death will not be in vain!!
By the gods, I think fortune is smiling on us!
Mechanica is one of many fighters from Nintendo's newest franchise ARMS. Initially born without the ability to extend her arms like others from her world, Mechanica built herself a robotic suit out of scraps, earning her the nickname of the "Scrapyard Scrapper". Mechanica lives her with father in a junkyard and dreams of one day becoming a competitor in the ARMS National League following a meeting with ARMS commissioner Max Brass.
Hey, pop! I got a loose bolt to fix. Hand me the wrench, would ya?
Woah, you guys know Ribbon Girl? Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! I'm her biggest fan!!
I may not have the arms that you guys do, but if there's one thing I'm not, it's weak!!
The self-proclaimed "Demon Lord", Ghirahim (pronounced Gear-uh-heem) is our main villain and one of the antagonists of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Possessing a great deal of power, Ghirahim has only one goal in mind: to spread chaos across the many realms and achieve what he believes to be ultimate freedom.
You mean he hasn't told you about me? Oh... that's rich! (laughs) Thinking he could hide his precious daughter from me! FOOL!! 16 years I spent in the realm of shadows, waiting for the day that I might be able to snuff out the light you sentimental creatures cherish so much. To think... after all this time, neither he nor that foolish prince Chrom learned any better.
Lord. My name is Lord Ghirahim. I prefer you used my full name, but I'm not fussy.
Samus Aran is an intergalactic bounty hunter and the main character of the Metroid series. In Skyfell, Samus is portrayed as more of an anti-hero, having previously served as a champion for Palutena's council. At the start of the series, it's revealed that Samus is in league with the main villain of our piece. Her reasons for betraying the council are unknown at first, but are later found out over the course of the story.
I take it you've never met a bounty hunter before. I don't work to save others. I do what I have to.
I've been ordered to take you prisoner. If you come quietly, I'll see to it that you live.
Alright. You wanna do this the hard way? I warned you.
He's a kid who can turn into a squid! Hailing from Inkopolis, this inkling boy is one of the main protagonists of Nintendo's ink-based shooter Splatoon 2. Previously unnamed, Taki is an inkling with an incredible knack for weapon development but lacks the social and physical skills needed to earn cash during Turf War matches.
(Tinkering with a new weapon) What do you think, Sheldon? Dual handles for flexible shooting and mobility, little ink consumption, and you can even do the twirly cowboy thing with em, too! I call em'... the Splat Dualies! (brief pause) The name's a work-in-progress.
Quit teasing me, Satsuki! What does a squid like Callie see in a wimp like me? I mean, I sat next to her in class all of Senior Year and she never even looked at me!
(Meeting Zelda and co. for the first time) You can understand me?! That's so rad! You must be new to the city, huh? Can't say I've ever seen you around these parts before. No tentacles, no barnacles, you don't even got that salty sea-air smell about ya! You sure you guys are inklings?
Master Hand is an omnipotent being with incredible power and one of the most recognizable characters from the Smash Bros. universe. His origins are unknown and his intentions are even more of a mystery. In Skyfell, Master Hand is our main villain and Ghirahim's master.
You have done well, Ghirahim. But it is still not enough. The Smash Ball is elusive, and despite all of the power I have bestowed you, you return... empty-handed. This will not go unpunished.
(low evil chuckle) The child poses no threat to us. Destroy her.
Azura is a mysterious songstress and one of the main characters from Fire Emblem Fates. In Skyfell, Azura is one of the first characters that Zelda encounters at the start of her journey, having healed her wounds by the mystical song she sings. Azura is also Corrin's love interest in this story and initially sees them off to join Zelda on her quest to defeat Ghirahim.
I know little of the song I sing. Only that it was passed onto me from my mother. When a songstress repeats the sacred lyrics, they are bestowed powerful magic. But it comes with a price. Should I use it excessively, I lose more and more of my strength.
Corrin, there's nothing left for you here. Go. I only hope you find what you're looking for.
(Sample of the song is in the description) You are the ocean's grey waves, destined to seek life beyond the shore just out of reach. Yet, the waters ever change, flowing like time, the path is yours to climb...
Old Bird is one of many Chozo elders, a race of ancient beings most famously seen in the Metroid universe. Acting as the representative for Samus' world, Old Bird is a mystical bird-like creature with untold amounts of wisdom. He also happens to be Samus' surrogate father, having rescued her from the wreckage of the Space Pirate attack that killed her parents.
In ancient times, the Smash Ball brought ruin to our world. Many fought to seize its power. Many perished as a result. In the hands of someone like Ghirahim, it would mean nothing but destruction.
(to Zelda, sage-like) Dearest child, it is fate that has brought you to me. You are most welcome.
In times of peril, I looked to the stars. Dim as they might've been, they always lit the way.
Princess Peach is the leader of the Mushroom Kingdom and one of the Super Mario franchise's main characters. Acting as one of the delegates for Palutena's council, Peach offers assistance to Zelda and company throughout the adventure with the help of her most trusted adviser Toadsworth.
Oh dear! Mario, we have to do something before anyone else gets hurt!
Hyrule may be lost, but it's not without a leader. Zelda, we need your help. Will you join us?
(pronounced daff-ness) King Daphnes is the King of Hyrule, most famously seen in the final moments of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Having served on Palutena's council for decades, Daphnes wishes to train his newborn daughter Zelda to follow in his footsteps as a member of the council following her ascension to the throne of Hyrule after he is gone.
Although Daphnes has good intentions, his overprotective nature causes him to let his fear control his actions, sheltering Zelda and causing a rift between the two. Despite his flaws, Daphnes cares deeply for Zelda and will go to any length to protect her and her people.
For Daphnes' voice, we're looking for someone who can wise, noble, and deep in tone with an English accent present. Something akin to the likes of actors such as Timothy Dalton, Christopher Lee, and Sean Connery, to name a few.
Many years ago, the goddesses of Hyrule entrusted the royal family with one of the sacred pieces of the triforce. Three golden triangles; Courage, Wisdom, and Power. This piece belonged to your mother and all her ancestors before her... and now, it belongs to you.
Ghirahim, it was foolish of you to step on such sacred grounds.
(stern, angry) So then you do not wish to follow your birthright? What should happen if Hyrule is left without a king? You are the only living heir to the throne! This is to be your legacy! Ready or not, you cannot abandon that responsibility!!
Hailing from the glory-seeking kingdom of Nohr, Xander is the crowned prince and one of the main characters from Fire Emblem Fates. Taking up the throne following the defeat of his cruel father King Garon, Xander is a powerful horseman with a fierce loyalty to his subjects and his country.
(to Ghirahim, firm) Nohr will not bow to you, villain. I shall fight to protect it if I must!
(to Corrin, warm/welcoming) It has been too long, little prince. How fare thee?
Nohrians! The enemy stands at the walls of our allies! We ride to liberate them! We fight to aid them! For Glory! FOR NOHR!!!
Queen Mikoto is the kind ruler of Hoshido, the neighboring kingdom to the east of Nohr. Diplomatic and reserved, Mikoto is a ruler loved by her people and wishes for nothing more than to continue Hoshido's days of peace. Mikoto is also Corrin's birth mother and lives with her children in the capital city of Hoshido.
(to Zelda, welcoming) You are welcome in Hoshido, Princess Zelda. The gods foretold me of your arrival.
(dying, very few breaths) Corrin... do not grieve for me. There is nowhere you can go where I will not follow.
Hoshido is in your debt, Crowned Prince Xander. Prepare the troops for battle!
Takumi is one of Corrin's siblings and a skilled archer from the royal family of Hoshido. He originally appeared in Fire Emblem Fates.
(to Pit) You wield the bow skillfully, stranger. But I can do better.
(angry, holding back tears) Mother? (to Corrin) What have you done? What have you done?!
Fox McCloud is the leader of the interplanetary squadron StarFox. An ace pilot and determined leader, Fox and his teammates work under the watch of Corneria's leader General Pepper, protecting the cosmos from the evil hands of Andross.
Right as rain, buddy! StarFox reporting for duty! General Pepper sent us to help you out. Sit tight! Things are about to get bumpy!
Alright team, let's rock and roll!
Slippy Toad is one of the members of StarFox and a talented technician. He often has a knack for getting himself in trouble during the thick of the battle.
Head's up, Fox! We're coming close to the landing point!
Give it a rest, Falco! I can handle myself just fine!
Falco is another of StarFox's infamous teammates. Cocky and high-strung, Falco is an incredibly talented pilot who deals more with battling in the skies rather than on the ground.
You kidding? You're talkin' to the best damn pilot this side of the Lylat System! Get ready!!
Try not to get in the way, Slippy! I almost got it!!
Meh, personally I prefer the air. You owe me one, Fox.
Peppy Hare is one of the original members of StarFox before Fox took over as leader. Acting as a mentor and seasoned veteran of combat, Peppy is the old but wise hare with a knack for getting his teammates out of trouble.
Head's up, Fox! I'm getting a scan on the battlefield up ahead. Many hexapod-type creatures. Cut the legs and they should be defenseless!
Do a Barrel Roll!
