Shellbacks Pilot Episode
Project Overview
ABOUT SHELLBACKS:
Shellbacks is a story about a team of cybernetically enhanced humanoid turtles who are stationed on a base on a remote island, codenamed: Cliffridge. While stationed at Cliffridge, they have to survive the harsh enviornments, the dangerous creatures, hidden secrets, and most importantly, each other.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
This episode is the first of a series created by a new production company called Robot Saint Studio. Being part of this pilot is voluntary, HOWEVER, if or hopefully when the series starts becoming more of a thing, it will be a paid series, which will include the volunteers who helped with episode one aka this pilot. Subsequent to episode one, Robot Saint Studio and the various cast will enter into a mutual agreement for the episodes following episode one.
For now, this is just about getting the pilot out so that the series can get some attention.

Zoey is the newest member of the team. She is a perky young woman with plenty of experience in anything medical, both physical and psychological. She's about to learn that this new team she's in is gonna really need medical and psychological help.

[Inner Monologue] Day One at Cliffridge. After two years of studying and training in the medical field, I’m finally being assigned to my first unit! I admit that it seems strange that this is the only outpost on this island, but I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t excited. [beat] I only very little about this outpost since nobody wants to talk about it, but I do know is that it’s near a cliff and… [long pause] Well, actually that’s about it.
[when she meets Nick, Jane, and Cap for the first time] Sooooooooo… [nervous chuckle] I’m Zoey.
[trying to process how this team acts with one another] Does this happen a lot?
Jane is considered the smart one of the group. Smart as in intelligent or sarcastic, the answer is both. She tries to act as a voice of reason at times, and also just trying to maintain her sanity when it comes to her team.

[they're trying to fire the cannon on their van] I’ve been trying to get the turret to aim, but the turning system is jammed! [beat for other character's line] No, I mean it’s LITERALLY jammed!
[when she sees marmalade getting shot out of a cannon; to Nick] Wait…was that the marmalade I got you last month?
[struggling to say this because it's out of character for her; clearly annoyed] “With the whole team as my witness, I take full responsibility for the dishes. And I'm a dirty slob, and for the next month...I'll do all the dishes without complaining.”
Although he's the only one with military experience, Cap is usually paranoid and his ideas are...very questionable.

[angry about their "jammed" cannon] What crack-shell in their right mind would put jam near the van’s turret?!
[doesn't care about a goal, only about being an effective soldier] Goal, shmole. All that matters is that we’re making a difference!!
[speech that gradually gets louder] If I can just say, I am proud to be on this team. You see, back in my days, during the Great Anthro War, we always bickered and tried to kill each other…on the SAME TEAM no less! But this, seeing you youngsters talk things out and negotiating, it’s a weird strategy but HIGHLY EFFECTIVE!! And I feel proud that you don’t wanna kill each other, even though that’s EXACTLY WHAT I’D DO!! And now we have a goodie-two-shoes medic! Our team is FINALLY complete!! I know I’m probably just a senile old turtle. But was I gonna retire? NO!!! And this team may have what it takes to be great! Sure, you may be lazy, dumb, weak, uptight, and easily distracted. But we’ve all survived this long together, why not keep it going?! We are a great team!! And we’ll show EVERYONE that we are the greatest! Why?! Because WE. ARE. SHELLBACKS!!!!
Kelly likes to work out and go on social media. She always stays fit and posts a lot on her socials. She's gotta have something to do, right? Unlike her brother, Nick, she's very active and tries to not be like him.

[when Mark makes a big deal about dishes] Dishes? Mark, you know it’s not that big of a deal.
[she's trying to convince Mark to let the rest of the team back in because the have the new medic] Dude. We need this medic. Think about it, we can finally take down the nursing schedule. Especially after that time Cap was up for medical assistance.
[decides to leave as Cap gives his long speech] I’ll see if we still have some Advil.
Unlike his sister, Kelly, Nick is extremely lazy. His main goals are "just chillin' and eatin'". He's honestly only here because his sister signed him up. He's just waiting for the day when it's all over so he can do whatever the heck he wants.

[when he hears that the turret's turning controls are jammed] Wait… [beat] THAT’S WHERE MY JAR OF JAM WAS??!!
[when Cap starts getting into how he can't trust Nick to do tasks] We’re literally an outpost in the middle of a remote island! We don’t even know what our freaking goal is!
[trying to negotiate with Mark and Kelly about letting them in; yelling] Yeah, plus you guy’s are basically getting us as annoying and irritating people you live with!!
Bucky is...a special case. Helping out with a lot of experiments over the years kinda dumbed down his brain, but what he lacks in intellect, he makes up for in fun behavior and about a hundred boatloads of optimism. Everyone finds it weird that he's never been sad once. It's kinda scary.

[explaining how he unintentionally killed a giant cockroach but in a happy way] Oh, well…while you guys were talking quietly, I got hungry and went to get a snack. We only really had one of those weird blue flat popsicle thingies so I gave one to Mr. Roach. [beat] But I think he was allergic to it. [beat] Anyways, I took his body and put in the chute that you said all the garbage goes to. [beat] But the dishes are still dirty.
[he just has no idea what is going on] I think Mark does a cool job here.
[after Cap insults the whole team in his speech; happily] Oh, well thank you.
