Pokémon Playing Survivor! | Pocket Survival 4: Temple of Time & Space
Project Overview
What if Pokémon Played Survivor? That is the question that Pocket Survival has set out to answer twice up to this point! A thrilling game where a large cast of Pokémon battle it out, first in a tribe vs tribe format, then in an individual format! Each episode ends with a player being voted out, until only one player remains, the winner! 2 Tribes, 20 Pokemon! This is Pocket Survival 4: Temple of Time & Space!
Pocket Survival is essentially a simulation with a story written around it. Fans and friends submit characters, a cast is selected, and then the pokemon are thrown into a brantsteele simulation. As the writer, I take notes on everything that happens in the simulation, the challenges, the tribal councils, down to the events, and I add plenty of extra fluff and story on top to make it truly unique. We've done three seasons of Pocket Survival up to this point, Lugia's Reef (Season One), Koraidon Badlands (Season Two) and Island of the Beasts (Season Three).
This is the second season we've casted for voice actors! Voice actors would be voicing:
- Confessionals
- Tribal Council Dialogue
- Off-Hand Comments / Whispers
- General Dialogue
For a more in-depth look at what this entails, this video showcases just about everything one would be expected to voice act for!
Project Details:
- This project is intended to have all voice acting completed within a 2-3 month period of characters being cast, and for the project in full to be complete 1-2 months after that.
- If your character does well enough, you may be requested to return to voice your character again. If you don't wish to return, you don't have to. It is not a requirement to be cast.
- First, in the week leading up to the livestream, shorts will be posted each day on youtube, twitter, and bluesky, each short highlighting a character doing the equivalent of a pre-game interview. Then, the entire season will be streamed live on twitch over 2-3 livestreams. The VODs will then be posted up on my VODs channel. Then before the next season (or if another season does not happen, within a few months after the original livestream), an edited down version will be uploaded to my main youtube channel. Credits for every voice actor will be showcased on all fronts.
- Please come in with the knowledge that your character could place anywhere, no matter how hopeful or well built up they are before their vote out. All the writing is happening actively whilst looking through the results of a brantsteele simulation, so some characters may be voted out in unpleasant or sudden ways.
- Scripts will be split into two different types: Pre-Merge and Merge. Unlike the previous season, both scripts will be given at the same time. The pre-merge scripts will have a deadline of three weeks after being sent, and the merge script will have a deadline of six weeks after being sent. I intend to be a bit stricter on deadlines this season.
- If your character reaches the final 5, you will get dialogue for the instance that they are the winner. This is mostly to combat bad faith spoilers from ruining the absolute ending, but yes. Every character that reaches the final 5 will have 'any-case dialogue' in their scripts to prevent the winner from being spoiled. This dialogue includes being 5th place, 4th place, 3rd place, 2nd place, 1st place, etc.. In addition, every character that is a juror will have 'any-case dialogue' for asking questions to every player that is still in the game after their vote out.
Guidelines:
- Please add your Discord handle to your audition
- Audio quality, while preferred to be high, is not a must for this project. This is more meant to be a fun thing so if your mic is a bit fuzzy then it's not a big deal.
- Yes, this is a smaller project that not many people really care about, but even so, no spoilers! Especially during the live stream! Considering if your character is not in the final 5, it is generally pretty easy to tell where they placed as the VA, so I would prefer if you do not spoil anything related to the project.
Optional Guidelines:
- You may submit for as many characters as you'd like, and may even be cast for multiple characters, so long as the auditions between them sound different enough. Vocal variation is key for those seeking multiple roles!
- We have a discord server that the proejct will be run through, also used to make bigger announcements. This server will also offer future VA casting opportunities. This is NOT required to join, as all scripts and dialogue submissions will be sent through private DM.
Minor Note: If many character descriptions seem written by different folks, it's because they are! Pocket Survival is partially cast through viewer submissions! So, for submissions that summarize the character well enough, I've left them preserved as is. Submissions that are way too small or way too long, I've tried my best to re-write to give a better idea of the character.
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.

She's very loud, and blunt. If she makes allies, she'll stick with them, calling them her "cast." She won't leave them, unless they hurt her, in which case she will be *petty,* she'll give them the silent treatment, refusing to share resources. It takes her a while to come to the conclusion she's been betrayed though, because she's pretty bad at identifying motives, or understanding sarcasm for that matter. She's comfortable in front of a crowd, and fairly talented at putting on an act.

(Introduction Confessional) “Hello hello! I'm Avery, and I'm an aspiring broadway actor looking to get noticed! There's no better way nowadays than to play Pocket Survival, it's already shined a light on the careers of a BUNCH of mons! Like Lillith from Lugia's Reef getting cast as a judge on that fashion tv show, or Rue from Koraidon Badlands finally breaking into the olympics! I'm gonna blaze my trail to broadway success the same ways they have in their own fields! Oh, uh, and I'm gonna try my hardest and win a million bucks too, yeah, that's on the table too! Can't forget that, haha!”
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “Rivalry? No no no, you have that mistaken. This is one sided, I couldn’t care less about her. She’s a little kid throwing a temper tantrum, and I’m the adult letting it all bounce off of me.”
(Voting Booth Confessional) "Lillith, you are a super strong mon, and one of my inspirations for playing this game in the first place! But you gotta go, so, bye bye~"

She is very shrewd and a researcher, who likes to assess every situation before making any sort of decision. She likes to conduct small experiments to test her hypothesis and try to reach a conclusion. She is said to be lacking in emotions, because of her dry and cutthroat personality but that's only because she's very focused on her research to really care otherwise.

(Introduction Confessional) “My name is Coraline Thyme. I am a researcher in Paldea, conducting studies on the existence of Pokemon that have arrived from other worlds, known as fallers. Or, I was before my research funding was cruelly stripped away from me, simply because my research 'lacked morality.' Simpletons. I'm here to gain funding for my research again, so don't mind me. I will be coasting by until the end, and being awarded the million dollars to continue my research of fallers in earnest.”
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “There is a lot that powers the inner workings of this tribe host, a lot of dynamics at play. If I were to go in depth, I fear I would shed too much light on the situation, and potentially affect the group. I will continue to act as a participant and a bystander.”
(Voting Booth Confessional) "Whilst you have made my research in this game quite intriguing, my alliance requires that you are eliminated, so I must follow through."

Cypress walks around with "mask" of a personality. They pretend to be kind, harmless and a "getting along with everyone" type. In truth, they are a backstabber, only "loyal" to two kinds of people: Their clients, and the people that they deem useful... for the time being. They have a rather nasty personality. They like to be praised, but a lot of their joy is from seeing chaos caused by them. Tearing friends or lovers apart over a "misunderstanding" caused by them? Fantastic. Getting the chance to trample others beneath them only to reveal the truth to them knowing it is too late and no one will believe them? Delicious.

I'm the same as any other Pokemon, and I'm proud of it!" -Transition into more Cruel voice- "Hehehehe, I bet you believed that little speech for a few minutes. I'm nothing like that. You're looking at this seasons antagonist, the villain. I'm a liar and a manipulator, and trust me, I can absolutely make you believe exactly what I want you to. Especially that little... transformation bit. Of course I can transform! But I'll make sure my competition thinks otherwise...”
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) -Kind Voice- “I don’t know what happened, so I can’t really offer an opinion or anything. But when half of the tribe is saying one thing, either they’re all a band of liars, or it’s true. The face they’re all aligned tells me it might be the first one.”

She's a sarcastic delinquent with a no-nonsense attitude. She'd emotionally bully anyone who she deems is dumb and frankly doesn't care about anyone's feelings. She puts up this front that she's hardcore and cool but in reality she's a bit of a soft dork herself. She enjoys playing on her bass and does enjoy singing but would kill anyone if they ever found out. She's not a bad person she's just acting out because she wants to be in control for once in her life. "Ezra" is a smart, snarky and cunning Zoroark. She is currently an undercover prisoner hiding in Pocket Survival as a hope to mask her true identity of a mastermind criminal. Being a mastermind criminal, They have a lot of potential and are extremely strategic, masking her inner rage with an eerie calmness. She delivers her rage with passive aggressive comments or says it more low and menacingly rather than loud and disruptive, knowing it could blow her cover. It would take a lot for "Ezra" to snap. I'm only gonna say this once. My competition will need to watch out for me, because I will be serious danger in this game. Anyone who would dare consider working with me is in for a rude awakening. So to all my future rivals, allies, whatever you're gonna be to me... you better proceed with caution. I'm gonna be your worst nightmare.”
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “It all comes down to one thing. Leadership. See, Alexandra took on the role as leader of our tribe very quickly, and look where it got us! Shit out of luck at tribal council. Maybe if we had a better leader, things would be different”

Nut is usually calm, logical, and honest to a fault. He has a firm moral code and believes heavily in the protection of those who are much younger or less combat-capable than most Pokemon. He also has a rather quirky side that comes out whenever he feels an adrenaline rush, or whenever he partakes in his personal passions of singing and dancing, though this can also give off the impression of him being a bit of an airhead. He's secretly a romantic, and also very VERY gay. Ironically, he can also be rather oblivious of other's interests in him unless it's said outright to his face.He has a habit of wandering off on his own to 'take a walk', and this usually ends up with some sort of shenanigans happening, much to the amusement and exasperation of others. Despite being a deer--err, Sawsbuck, Nut would have no issues consuming meat, and can even cook meat too.His horns will sometimes grow small berries, especially during Spring. It takes a lot to break his trust, but if you do... Arceus help you. He has 4 Boldness, right? That's because when his quirky side comes out, he'll consider doing some crazy stuff as long as he feels like it'll have a good chance of benefitting him. Very action-movie-hero coded. And that sort of ditz can land him in trouble if he's not careful. I'd actually say his fatal flaw is Greed. He likes to hoard you see, new experiences, new thrills, new friends. And he can end up being rather protective of them too, which fits for a bodyguard type. But it also makes distracting Nut away from the potential shiny hard, even if it's to his own detriment

My plan is to ally with lesser mons, maybe with less experience or not as combat capable as myself, and we'll bunch up together as strong loyal numbers to push into the endgame stronger than ever before! This game of lies and betrayals will be looking much more safe with me around!”
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) "I enjoy being apart of this tribe a lot actually, I'm not the hater some of you seem to believe I am. I greatly appreciate Meria's attempts to strengthen the tribes bonds, Bow is great at tending to the fire and keeping the camp in good shape, and Steinhagen is great at getting us food! I feel I fit into the tribe really well, so, no, I don't wanna see myself go. I just wish things were better on the challenge front."

Xander acts just about how you think he would. He doesn't have the best regard for personal space, he's loud to an almost obnoxious degree, and he reeks! That being said, if you can get used to the stench, he ain't the worst mon to have on your side. Due to his stinky scent, he ain't the type to get many friends - and the way he almost tries to force his way into conversations doesn't help either. But give him an inch and he'll take a mile! He's extremely loyal as any mon that has given him the time of day at any point in time ever has never heard the end of it! His construction crew is the first place he's felt at home! Also, he's a flaming homosexual and makes it pretty obvious with his comments toward other men! He's somewhat oblivious to things going on, so he can't take hints very will. You gotta be very blunt with him! He also has a country accent!

Obviously, you can see me, pfft, that was stupid of me to point out. Okay okay, why did I audition in the first place? Few reasons! First and foremost, I'm doin' it for my guys! I work in a construction crew, and while the pay is just enough for my cheap lifestyle of eatin' food, watchin tv, and drinkin with my boys... it ain't enough for my guys. Futon's drownin' in student debt, Axel's tryin' to move out of his crap hole apartment, hell even Big Ted's welcoming a daughter in a few months! I don't need much for myself, but my guys, my boys, they need the help. I'm here to help 'em out! Well, uh, heh, and for a little change of pace. Life's been the same day in day out the past eight years, I've been wanting to do something new! I wonder if I'll be any good!”
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “I don’t think there’s any one reason host. There’s a lotta factors-go into a team losin’! I’d say the other team played better, but there’s no way I could really narrow it down to one reason!”

My name is Benjamin, and please do forgive if I appear to struggle with words, I am used to a far more solitary life than the average Pokemon. I am at a near constant surrounded by the dead, seeing as I work as a Cemetary Groundskeeper and a Crematory Operator. It may seem a depressing life, and yes it is far more quiet, though I am always looking on the positive side of any given situation. I have been told that I offer more empathy than others, and I believe that is due to my life and line of work. How intriguing it is to feel so alive when surrounded by the dead! I jest I jest. At present, I plan to play this game rather hard. No one will witness this Vileplume holding back!"
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “Thank you dearly for the generic question, host. In a game such as this, anything may happen. No matter what I think will be the case, the truth is not truly known until the votes are revealed. So, I would prefer to sit back and find out the truth myself.”

Intense and high energy. Delta is confident, full of conviction and conspiracy theories alike. After a incident with a wormhole that left them dependant on their Ball for emotional support, they've had their eyes opened to the reality that there is no way to understand anything. All are but microscopic specks, everything that anyone thinks they know about anything is wrong. It's a deception. The truth is always, always far more complicated, far stranger than what it first appears. But don't let this distract you from how much Delta fucking LOVES GAMES. ESPECIALLY COMPETITIONS. They show interest in other pokemon by competiting with them. There's nothing more enjoyable to them than a friendly rivalry, even if they lose- it just makes them more invested, if they're not against a sore winner. But when things go beyond, or outside the game, they take it personally. Not one to forgive or to back down, but only in response to what they feel are personal insults or their worldview being contradicted. If left to their own devices they will prioritise fun above all else.

As the leader of her own pack back home, Maple has a clear goal - to lead and to dominate. Failing or not doing well would absolutely get on her skin, as she sees it as her own personal failure. She will refuse to show weakness around others though, remaining strong in the face of any possibly adversity. She will assert herself as leader, whether it be of a tribe or of an alliance, considering herself the only one appropriate to make decisions. She also has a strong intuition, making it likely for her to catch when something is amiss, when plans may be being made against her. She is the leader and she will lead. She has no problems making examples out of others that don't fit her standards, such as punishing them publicly, for anyone to see, or even getting them voted out if she no longer considers them assets. As another showcase of her leadership, she is built far larger than the typical Mightyena, standing at 4'06" as opposed to the typical 3'03".

pixxy is a tomboy collage student from galar, she is very athlete that does multiple sports she is a friendly player that will take no nonsenses from other and is willing to protect her friends and teammates as well as openly tell people off. shes a team leader back home but she is willing to let others lead, as long as she gets out fairly she wont be upset by getting eliminated. she's competitive but isn't too competitive and again as long as its fair handles her losses well, she isn't even above calling out her own teammates if they cheat or do something unsportsmen like, she would rather win fair and square. she also ether already has a boyfriend or gets one here, a riolu that i will submit next (ether works) :3 but she does have some weakness for 1. she cant swim and is scared of going to deep in the water 2. when it comes to training she can get too into it, not putting the people she training capability and once or twice peoples willingness to train into consideration not on purpose tho and when she sees it she gets apologetic 3.shes a terrible liar, shes able to keep secrets but she cant for the life of her do so with out making it obvious she's lying 4. ironically she has a very low spice tolerances and lastly 5. while she does do well in hiding it depending on what type of comments it can get under her skin and she stubben in the regard to just brush it off and not vent to others not wanting bother then about her problems she has average intelligence but is smart when it comes to sport relating tactics, strategic plays in games like this and just sports stuff in general

(Introduction Confessional) "Hiii, I'm Pixxy! I bet you saw this little Vulpix and your first thought was 'there's no way this Pix can ball.' But you're WRONG! I LOVE sports! I play multiple sports throughout the year, and I'm a tough cookie to crack in all of them! It's a fun way to make a living! I'm used to being underestimated, so I'm real excited to show this group what Pixxy is really made of! What a better way to prove that I'm stronger than meets the eye, than to burst into this game and crush it from the inside out, strong style!"
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) "Can I just say something real quick? This tribe has been split down the middle from day one, and that's been the big thing keeping us down! The alliances are fighting constantly, even at challenges! That's why we keep losing, that's why were here!"
(Voting Booth Confessional) "Burger, you cause the most problems for our tribe, sooooooo, bye bye!"

(Introduction Confessional) "Name's Rene. I'm a wanderer, a free spirit. Been told the common term's Nomad, so go by that if ya want. I'm here cause I want some cash and I want some adventure, and I'm bettin' this'll be one helluva way to get both of those. I'm not here to cause no problems, just get through the game, be a good loyal guy, and reach the end. Nothin' to hate about that."
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) "This tribe's a right mess host. Ya got Skye 'n King fightin' at camp, Ocelot n' Anita runnin' round lookin' for idols, no one doin' the necessary work 'round camp 'cept for me. It's a helluva mess."
(Voting Booth Confessional) "Ya better not've found that idol Anita. Cause tonight, your ass is grass."

Stereotypical Mafioso, though quite a jolly fellow. I think he is great at customer service and makes a point to be a part of the community. He is part of the mafia, so he is a master at holding grudges, and "making even". Or at least attempting to. He is loyal to a fault (take a shot every time you see that) but generally knows what's up. I do think he can be threatening if he tries. He helps run a local ice cream parlor, "Gelato's Ice Cream", though he seems to focus more on the business then the actual mafia line of work, earning him the nick name 'soft serve'.

(Introduction Confessional) "The name is Shaun, Shaun 'Soft Serve' Gelato. I'm something of a... local business man. Run an ice cream parlor with my family, the Gelato family, back home in Unova. Bein' in the ice cream game, it gets stressful, tiring, same old same old, so I'm here to get a nice break from all'uh that. Change of scenery. When I win the million dollars, it's goin' straight back into my parlor and my community. You got the Gelato Family guarantee on that."
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “I think I got somewhat of an idea, since I got a lotta connections in this tribe. Makes it easy to find out what’s what. Only problem I got now is which path I choose to walk down. It’s a tough decision, but I ain’t Shaun ‘soft serve’ Gelato for nothin’! I’m used to these kindsa choices.”
(Voting Booth Confessional) "King... the Gelato Family sends their regards..."

He's a pompous lawyer with a cocky attitude, and an angry demeanor. Yeah he's definitely got some sorta anger issues, but that doesn't stop him from doing his job! He's loyal to a fault, always believes he can get the job done even when the odds seem insurmountable. He developed some skills from theatre class that add to his overall ability as a convincing lawyer.

(Introduction Confessional) "Look back at past Lawyer's that have played this game. Anita, Thacher, you got the same story between them. Sturpy is going to change that! That's because I also have substantial experience in theater! I can be an especially convincing mon~ I'm going to play this game with charisma and power at the forefront! Everyone else is gonna have to keep a close eye on me if they want even a CHANCE of taking me down! I REFUSE to let any garbage like that happen!"
(Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “Trust is everything in a vote like tonights! Not only do you need to put a whole lot of trust in your allies, but if you want to avoid a tie, you may need to put trust in mons you don’t get along too well with too! I’m confident that I can trust my allies, at the bare minimum.”
(Voting Booth Confessional) "Ramses! You've had one too many fuck-ups on this tribe! It's about time your ass got got!"
