SEGA Comic Rescan Project

Project Overview

I am currently running a preservation project of uploading comic scans of unseen pages from Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog, Fleetway's Sonic the Comic, Sonic the Online Comic, and potentially others down the line to Youtube. I am relatively new to this scene, but I'm actively improving. That being said, I could use another set of hands to help polish said videos to a more appropriate standard. Video effects, comic panel animation, perhaps even some audio effects. We will be doing all the comics, including all spinoffs and mainline. That includes the Ken Penders era. I am fully aware of the public opinion regarding Archie Sonic especially, but when you're working with me I expect you to hold yourself to a professional standard and refrain from negative commentary. This is a preservation project, not a hate review, nor is it Twitter. I expect you to act like it. I've provided a link to a sample of the work I've done already in the video pitch. In addition to Sonic comics, eventually we will be doing other SEGA projects such as Marvel's 1-issue Virtua Fighter comic, Archie's 6-issue NiGHTS comic, Project Sekai 4KOMAs, the PSO2COMI webcomics and potentially more as well.

Our quota will be one comic from every run per week. That means one Archie comic, one Fleetway comic and one StOC comic per week. When we finish a saga we will upload a marathon video of every comic in said saga (with Archie Sonic this will typically mean the Sonic Archives books or Sonic Select and so forth) made from stratch with slightly different music choices and effects as we deem appropriate. Our music choices will be limited to SEGA music only, nothing else. I want to retain the feeling of a SEGA-centric comic brought to life for people too lazy to read these comics on their own. Fortunately I have an extensive knowledge of SEGA properties and the music used in them, and I can provide a majority of resources for use in this project. Resources, collaboration and planning will be done in a dedicated Discord group chat.

I absolutely refuse to work with Nintendo or World of Warcraft fans of any kind, as ample previous experiences have proven them untrustworthy, unprofessional, and hateful. Anyone else is fine though, SEGA fan or no. Here's hoping we can learn a bunch from one another. Looking forward to working with you, future partners!

I can already cut out the panels myself but when it comes to things such as whiting out areas and polishing the panels in question, a second set of hands would be greatly appreciated. Think things such as fine-tuning the whiteout in certain panels, matching color tones to specific panels to match the background action, occasionally perfecting the aspect ratio to match the panel borders, etc.

I need a 2D editor/animator to help animate comic panels in an appropriate fashion suiting the action happening in-context. things such as panel shaking, bloom effects, environmental effects, so on and so forth.

a specialist in audio editing and engineering would be a nice-to-have for things such as sound effects placement, environmental noises and so on. Think things such as the Sonic spring effect, underwater noises, countryside animals and insects, desert winds, so on and so forth. This role will probably be rarely used at first but will easily become more appropriate as the comics become increasingly serious in tone.
