Ryan's Report - Doctor Who/Cybermen fan animation
Project Overview
Hi! I'm James, a British content creator and I make fan films of TV sci-fi shows like Doctor Who and Thunderbirds.
I'm really interested in old TV and film, so the style of my animations is deliberately retro. I like to make films that almost could have been made in the 1960s - good old fashioned fun. Weird, I know!
This part is for a short animation fan film based on an old Doctor Who story from 1967 called The Wheel in Space. I've already made a few episodes of this continuing series, so I'd welcome you to take a look at some of my videos to get an idea of what you might be letting yourself in for. - Retromission - YouTube
Emi (Emmy) is a young human female Astronavigator and Pilot. She flies the rocketship Crimson Dart. She is sensitive, alert and precise. Keen to please and be taken seriously. She finds it hard to follow her Captain's orders when she doesn't agree with him, but her professionalism and respect for rank means she will do as instructed - but she will firmly push back on anything that makes her uncomfortable.
This role would suit a fan of classic Doctor Who or Star Trek, as this is the kind of characterisation I'm looking for.
I've no preference on accent for the character, and very open to something other than British and American accents.
She is a key member in a cast of 4, and has around 20 lines in a 10 minute animated short.
If you get the part, I'll email you the script and some notes, and hopefully you can email me back with the recorded lines within 7 days. The animation is partially complete, so there will be a quick turnaround.
There's no money involved in this fan film, so I can only offer to give you credit and kudos as every opportunity.

Bridge to Captain Ryan. I’ve picked up something interesting on the starboard bow. I think maybe you should come and take a look at it?
Respectfully, Captain Ryan, we're taking a huge risk just flying close to the cloud. Going inside could cripple us, perhaps destroy the ship…
