The Story:
You are a vaelix, a dying species that has been hunted to near extinction. Every day, you live in fear of being eliminated. And yet, only your blood can be used to treat the deadly virus, Flos. Normally, you’d only have to donate your blood but… the blood supplies are running out. Now, the Department of Disease Prevention sends a letter requesting your presence to perform experiments — at the potential cost of your life. That’s fine by you.
Nonetheless, on your journey, you meet hitchhikers who talk about their life experiences, and that makes you reflect on how much you will miss out. Do you really want to die all for the sake of others?
What we are looking for:
Road to Salvation will be a part of the Raise Your Voice jam that is hosted by DevTalk. We are looking to record 100 lines exactly, by mid-November.
This is a long-term project, where each hitchhiker will have their own separate section. There will be more roles in the future.
Audition requirements:
Please provide 2-3 takes per line, in AABBCC format.
XLR mics preferred, not required.

Would you be interested in continuing your role after the game jam? Lachlan has a couple of extra lines and will have an ending later. This will not affect if you get picked for the role, but if you are unable to return then you may be recast down the line.

Hello everyone! We just wanted to announce that our casting call for Lachlan is officially closed! Thank you to everyone who auditioned! We listened to each and every one of your submissions. Honestly, we never thought that we would receive over 80 auditions in such a short time span. It means a lot to us.

Lachlan is a happy-go-lucky merfolk who is overly trusting. He has only been on land a small handful of times leading him to be very naive. Lachlan has a bubbly personality with big aspirations, but for now all he is doing is some land research and running away from his responsibilities. In his spare time, he enjoys inventing.

(suddenly being kicked out of the car for apparently no reason. Worried/concerned, then a bit scared.) “Is everything alright? You look scared. I’m not going to hurt you. I don’t care about the bounty.”
(embarrassedly ranting, genuine) “When I was out on vacation, I went to try pizza for the first time and the witch who was making my food put a ‘special sauce’ on it. Next thing I know I’m out cold.”
(bubbly, passionate) “Dragon-hide jellyfish! But I won’t tell you how I put it together. That’s a trade secret.”
