Reservations - Comedy Podcast
Project Overview
Today, we’re casting for (4) roles, 2M, 2F:
- Waiter (Black Male)
- Girlfriend (PGM Female)
- Dreads (Caucasian Female)
- Muscles (Black Male)
in Episode 1 of ‘Reservations’, a comedic podcast developed by 24x1 and Joy Ofodu LLC (Social partnerships with Adult Swim, DIRECTV, as seen on BET, AllDef, R29). This is for internal demo use only
Synopsis: An unlikely bond forms between a waiter, chef, Maître d'hôtel and busboy as they grapple with a grueling modern restaurant culture and its guests
Black male actors may audition for both Waiter and Muscles if performances are unique enough. Please note that these two characters interact
The deadline for this casting call is Wednesday the 8th of June at 5PM PST, with deliveries due Friday the 10th of June at 5PM PST. As this is internal use only, rates for the project vary from $15-50 for independent, remote work time. All auditions will be considered for the external/final product casting. Cast will be asked to sign NDAs
You MUST have access to a condenser/XLR microphone, and a quiet recording space. Do not slate. ABC ABC preferred, up to 2 takes permitted

(Mumbling, distant) Yeah um, you said it’s your birthday?
(Highly practiced, a smirk already breaking through his tone) Hiii, welcome to Reservations, my name is Don; I’ll be your server tonight.
(Quickly reacts with an uncontrollable cough to stifle his laughter, trying to recover his professionalism) Um what?? What did you say?
Person of Global Majority female. Co-dependent, traumatized. Incredibly smart and manipulative toward her boyfriend on the phone. This role requires her to yell two lines, and some obscenities. ABC ABC preferred, up to 2 takes permitted.
(Sweetly) You already know who it isssss, I miss you. I know you said you need space but I need you to talk to me.
(Darkly, with intent to harm) You always run when things get difficult. But a man is supposed to hold sh-t down.
(Shouting) AND YA D-CK LITTLE!
African American/ Black male. Gym bro, deep voice. Jamaican accent also accepted if 100% authentic. This role requires a spit take. 3-4 lines total. ABC ABC preferred, up to 2 takes permitted.
Baby I told you, only in the house!
Yeah I’ll do the fried calamari.
Caucasian/White female. Must be able to perform in a blaccent (shouldn't be convincing, but rather offensive). 3-4 lines total. ABC ABC preferred, up to 2 takes permitted.
(Oblivious, and in a cringy blaccent/AAVE attempt) Y’all got those cauliflower wings?
(Blaccent gone, natural English accent) Oh my god baby are you ok?! Can you get us some napkins?
