Re:Zero Arc 7 Web Novel Casting | Studio Reverie

Project Overview

What is this project?

At Studio Reverie we have been adapting the Re:Zero Web Novel into a voice acted audiobook series for the past 4 years. We have fully completed Arcs 1 and 5, and we are currently producing Arc 6 of the web novel. We will catch up to arc 7 by the end of the year, so we are beginning our casting process. We are currently an unpaid project, but we are a fun and engaging community. We welcome in all stages of voice actors! We do not require you to know anything about Re:Zero in order to join the project, but we do expect a positive attitude towards our community if you would like to join us!

Please do not limit yourself based on any reason, this arc requires 54+ new characters with a variety of ages, gender identities, accents, etc. We have a wonderful community of VAs from around the world and we would love for you to join our growing team! We are requesting an 18+ cast at this time, but there will be more opportunities in the future if you are under 18!

Requirements

  • A clean recording with no background sound

  • ABCABC format (2 takes per line)

  • 1 submission per character (do not re-audition unless requested)

  • 18+ Submissions only (no NSFW, we prefer to work with adults - verification may be requested)

  • No slating

  • A discord account (this is where we contact talent and operate our live streams)

Will I be Required to go Live?

When we record arc 6 we start with a live table read as our rough draft/engagement with our viewers, but we will be cutting the chapters down and editing in the originally casted voice actors who cannot make live recordings. You can choose to attend the live readings or just pre-record your lines and another cast member will cover your lines during the live stream. So, no you are not required to, just let us know what you're comfortable with when we cast you!

  • Yes, we are a fan made project, but due to the flexibility of the licensing of the Web Novel, we have been able to create this voice project that falls under creative commons

  • This will not be the Re:Zero Light Novel as it is owned by Yen Press

  • As we are managing over 70 voice actors on this project, we will require our new talent to be able to communicate with us in a timely manner, otherwise we will move on with another talent. We will always welcome the original casted person back if their schedule opens up, but we have struggled with having voice actors meet deadlines.

    You can check your dashboards to see which roles have been excused and which have been shortlisted! The managing team has to do one last look trough of all the callback candidates before reaching out with a callback link!

    The current plan will be to hold several callback timeslots that will take about an hour an a half in a discord server:

    • we will have a certain number of slots available for each opening, where you will do some warm ups and character exercises with our staff at Reverie, and then one at a time you will be pulled in for a one-on-one audition with the managers of Studio Reverie

    • During your audition, we will ask you to try your lines for your shortlisted character (or another character that you did not audition for) and we will ask for certain direction changes as well if you are comfortable with recording live with us on stream (saying no will not decrease your chances of being chosen)

    • Once the call back process is complete, we will assign your roll on CCC, add you as a cast member to the Reverie Discord server, and ask you to do a retake of your audition lines for a cast announcement video for YouTube!

    Callbacks should be running through July 7th - 14th!

However she has deep seated feelings of self doubt and self-hatred stemming from an inferiority complex focused around her older sister.
