Ramshackle: The Thesis Film is a 2D hand-drawn, animated student film based off of my upcoming webcomic, Ramshackle.
The film is a comedy/adventure/shitpost that follows the misadventures of three idiot hobos, Skipp, Stone, and Vinnie. after they piss off a couple of gangsters and get chased through town. This film serves as an opening/pilot for my webcomic.
The short will be approximately 1:30-2 minutes long, and will have cartoony, fast paced animation. The animation style will be similar to that of Wander Over Yonder and Cats Don't Dance. It'll be very character-driven, so I'm looking for voice actors who can capture the spirit of the characters and have a good sense of comedic timing and delivery. There might be a song segment in it so you may be required to sing briefly. Since this is a student film I'm looking for mostly volunteer work. The film will be completed in April 2020.

Hey guys! Due to the overwhelming amount of applicants I will be closing applications early on Oct. 15th instead of the 20th. The cast will be chosen around the 20th! Voice Actor
Vinnie is a smooth talking charismatic (think Saul from Better Call Saul), slightly overconfident piece of shit. She is somewhat the leader of the hobo trio, as she talks the most. Her talents include: stealing scamming, and sinning. She is very street smart, and likes pirates a lot. She likes bullying Stone and she is best bros with Skipp.
The way she speaks is pretty rhythmic, and I have always imagined her to have a unique, maybe raspy female voice but anything will be accepted! I can also imagine her with a slight Boston accent, though this also is optional.

"Cheating? Do we look like cheaters to you?" - Vinnie trying to smugly/over confidently convince the gangsters that she isn't cheating at a poker game even though she clearly is.
"Alright, new plan. We chuck Stone at the car because he is long like a javelin AND he's dispensable." -Vinnie talks her friends through her solid new plan.
"HAH! Idiots!" - Vinnie triumphantly (and loudly) laughs at the gangsters as they blow themselves up.
Voice Actor
Stone is the emo one. He's quiet, grumpy, and he's drunk about 90% of the time. Stone has a soft-spoken, monotone and mumble-y way of talking so there's not actually a lot of extreme acting in his voice. HAS A SLIGHT IRISH ACCENT. He argues with Vinnie a lot, and is the Squidward to Skipp's Spongebob. Despite being the way he is, he genuinely cares for his friends but tends to hide his feelings through drinking.

"Vinnie, we're playing poker." - Stone matter-of-factly tells Vinnie that she's been playing the wrong card game the whole time.
"...This is why I drink." -The trio gets shot at, but Stone doesn't care.
"*hic* I'm planning the next scheme. "- Stone is totally drunk and has lost all faith in Vinnie's schemes.. He's fed up, but in a monotone Stone kind of way. Feel free to improv his drunk-ness, maybe even give me your best Rick impression.
Voice Actor
Skipp is a little ball of sunshine. He's overly optimistic, much like Flapjack, Spongebob, or Wander. He's is very bouncy and is always willing to help others. Without Skipp, Vinnie and Stone would probably kill each other. He is best bros with Vinnie, and he loves bugging Stone. I've always imagined him to sound like Flapjack from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, but again, anything is acceptable!

"Actually, I think we just won!" - The hobo trio wins a poker game, and Skipp happily points it out.
"Aw man, all I have is this gun." -The trio gets shot at. They are all freaking out and Skipp finds a gun in his pocket. He's kind of disappointed, and just throws the gun away.
"You gotta breathe! Deep breaths, here... we.... go. Just...come on..." -Skipp is scared that Stone's going to vomit, so he does the Heimlich maneuver to Stone even though that's totally incorrect. Stone is struggling to get Skipp to let go of him, and the two talk over each other, so the delivery is sort of sporatic. Improv is definitely welcome here!
Voice Actor
I decided to lump the two gangsters together into one role since they don't have that many lines. They are just angry, generic henchman-y villains.
Gangster #1: I imagine to be more nasally.
Gangster #2: Would have a deeper, gruffer voice.
Accents would definitely be fun to have! Either Scottish, Irish, Cockney, or Southern would be great. No accent is fine too, please feel free to do whatever you would like!
"How the hell did I just lose to a bunch of homeless kids?!" -Gangster #1, absolutely pissed that he lost a game of poker to our idiot trio.
"They must be cheating!" - Gangster #2, backing up his friend as he loses poker.
"We're gonna get you punks!" - Either gangster you choose. The two gangsters are close on the main trio's tail, shooting at them.
