Project Sekai: Backlit Stage
Project Overview
Hiya! Welcome to the casting call page for Project Sekai: Backlit Stage! This is a fandub of the game Hatsune Miku: Colourful Stage, often called Project Sekai, run by @wafflesaretaste and myself. This is an unpaid passion project as part of the rebranding/reboot of Backlights Studios, an independently run fandubbing studio focusing on games/anime/manga with no official english dub. The project will be mostly run on Discord, though we are happy to work over CCC or email!
Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku (often shortened to 'Project SEKAI') is a rhythm game developed as a collaboration between SEGA, Craft Egg, Colorful Palette, and Crypton Future Media. The first server of Project SEKAI was released on September 30, 2020 for iOS and Android devices.The game is set in Shibuya, Tokyo. A girl named Hoshino Ichika walks through the streets and sees an LCD screen displaying Hatsune Miku.
Upon returning home, she discovers a song named "Untitled" on her smartphone. Out of curiosity, Ichika plays the song, only to be surrounded by a white light and transported to an unknown place. Miku stands in front of Ichika, welcoming her to SEKAI and inviting her to sing together.
The game features Crypton's Piapro characters: Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO, and MEIKO. These characters take the form of VIRTUAL SINGERS (also known as VOCALOIDS).
The game features 20 new characters that are split into 5 units: Leo/need, MORE MORE JUMP!, Vivid BAD SQUAD, Wonderlands x Showtime, and Nightcord at 25:00. Each of the units has one or more VIRTUAL SINGERS advising them.

-MUST BE ABLE TO SUBMIT AUDIO FILES, VIDEO AUDITIONS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISMISSED
-MUST BE OVER THE AGE OF 15 - 13 IS THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM AS COMMUNICATION WILL BE MOSTLY DONE OVER DISCORD
-DECENT MIC SETUP - slight bg noise that can easily be removed is acceptable, but we want to be able to hear you clearly lol
-PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS MIKU, DO NOT PUT A BACKING TRACK ON YOUR SINGING AUDITIONS

Deadline Reminder + extra info
Hiya! This is ish here, just posting a reminder about the deadline - this is our current plan for casting:
April 1st: Mayo and I decide fully on who to callbackApril 2nd: Auditions close + we send out callbacks
April 8th: Callbacks due date
April 9th: Casting
I'd also like to mention a couple things I've noticed about the auditons:
-We will be covering the game, and hopefully it's songs, in English, so please don't feel obligated to submit a JP singing clip, or even a clip of a PJSK song at all - we'd rather hear you at your most comfortable.
-Roles such as Miku, Luka, and MEIKO have very few auditions, despite others (cough Emu cough) receiving many. I am well aware this is a normal occurrence with casting, due to my previous projects, especially with such hard characters to match like the VIRTUAL SINGERS, but we encourage people to give them a go! After all, the more auditions you submit, the more range we can see, and therefore a higher chance of receiving a callback and/or casting!
-We are also lacking in mixer auditions, so if you know anyone up to do song mixing, please send them our way!
