Welcome to the Casting Call for Sonic’s Christmas Insanity - otherwise known as Project Resurrection
ROLES WILL BEGIN TO BE CAST ON NOVEMBER 14. This call will stay up until either late-December to early-March or until I feel I have a good enough cast.
PROJECT INFO
To give a generic overview, I had two ‘projects’ in my early days on YouTube: Sonic’s Christmas Madness and Sonic’s Christmas Chaos. I originally intended to release them in an animatic format, but due to my naiveté, I was unable to complete them in the original intended format. Both projects were released as ‘audiobooks’. However, I feel like I failed the first two times due to my inability to tell the stories how I wanted to. So, three years after the Casting Call for Madness and two after Chaos, I will be trying to tell a story again. I have more experience and different tools than I did 2+ years ago. In addition to that, I have developed tremendously as a scriptwriter, in that I have a severely more competent script than that of Madness.
Sonic’s Christmas Insanity will be told as a standalone story, although it could be in the same timeline as Madness and Chaos if you choose so. In addition to “rebooting” the storyline, with the exception of Tails, Blaze, Mega Man, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Infinite, and characters I have set aside for myself, all roles will be recast. No one individual, whether it be a former cast member of Madness or Chaos, or any of my friends, will be given preferential treatment. This casting call will stay up until I feel I have a sufficient number of auditions for each character, and said auditions should display proper acting while also trying to keep true to the original portrayals unless otherwise specified.
During the production of this project, I will focus on audio and artwork. That said, if you are cast for a role and want to help me in the artwork, you are more than free to help once production begins. When this project is fully cast, the full audio-only version which will be made specifically to assist the artwork will likely take a year to complete. Visuals will take longer than one year to complete.
Every character in this call with the exception of Dr Eggman, Eggman Nega, Amy Rose, Marine the Raccoon, and Blizzard the Cat have seven lines or less. The five mentioned have thirteen lines or more.
STORY SUMMARY
After a stressful year fighting Eggman and Eggman Nega [following the events of Sonic Forces], Sonic, Tails, Blaze and Marine get together to spend Christmas in Whales - a Spanglish town in the Spanish-speaking majority Nuevo Ciutad province. During this, Sonic learns some details about Blaze's past, and takes action to remedy those events. Unbeknownst to them, the Eggmen use this opportunity to attempt to eliminate their adversaries. They team up with Sonic's foes from past and present in an attempt to accomplish this mission. Will these fiends succeed in ruining Christmas for our heroes? Will Sonic be able to make this Christmas the best one Blaze has ever had?

If you want to be a part of this project, there are some guidelines that you must adhere by.
- You must have a decent (I am using this term loosely) microphone.
- You must have Discord.
- You must be willing to stick around for the next two-or-so years.
- You must properly express emotion in your auditions. As this project contains dramatic and emotional components, proper expression of emotion will be needed [more from Blizzy than other characters, but all characters need to properly express emotion]
- You must be willing to ad lib or improvise. Should you be cast, you will be given two scripts. One will be the main script with the lines that will be front and center. The other will be an 'appendix file'. Appendix files are how I list what extra stuff that will not necessarily be heard clearly I need. This file will contain lines, sound effects, among other things. With that said, if you are cast as one part, you will not portray just that one part. You will also be called to play bit parts (i.e. prisoners, club patrons, tourists) in order to accomplish a life-like feel for this project.
- Some knowledge of Spanish is preferred, as SCI mainly takes place in a Spanish-speaking environment, but is not required. None of the characters 'main' lines will be in Spanish, but background roles may/will be speaking Spanish or Spanglish.
For purposes of not wanting to reveal too much of the plot [and the fact that a good chunk of these characters only have one main line], the audition lines will consist of one line from the script, one line from their respective games, and one line from a movie. There will be exceptions to this rule, which will be noted in the descriptions of said characters. It should be noted that the movie quotes for the characters does not represent an accurate depiction of said character. They are there as a means to test your ability in how you would believe the character would act.
It should be noted that all characters that have established ages have been aged two years due to the timeline of the events of Generations and Forces, with a reasonable three-month gap in between Gens, Lost World, and Forces each. This means that Sonic is 17, Blaze is 16, Tails is 10, Marine is 9, etc. In addition, you will come across the phrase "Feel Free To Make This Performance As You Wish" many many times throughout this casting call. What I mean by that is that if you want to do a different take on a character's voice, you are more than free to do so. I will choose the voices that A) sound the best, B) that complement each other's voices, and C) display appropriate acting.
The classification for roles is as follows (the figures below are according to the amount of lines in the main script):
- Lead: 21+ lines
- Supporting: 11-20 lines
- Minor: 4-10 lines
- Extra: 1-3 lines
- It should be noted that an overwhelming majority of characters that are already/will be in this casting call are exclusive to a dinner scene in the middle of the video.
