Primary Colors - Project Sekai Card Story Fandub

Project Overview


Primary Colors is a Project Sekai fandub project dedicated to dubbing the game's card side stories. The initial scope of the project will involve only the cards available in the game at launch - including every character's 1*, 2* and 3* cards, as well as Ichika and Wonderlands x Showtime Len's base game 4* cards. If the project goes well and the cast is interested, we may expand out to event card stories and other dubbing of the game's content, so stay tuned!



Audition requirements:

- Must be 16 years or older. The director is 20 and prefers to work with 16+ VAs.


- Must have a Discord account, as all project discussion and management will take place on a dedicated server.


- Must have a decent quality microphone. This is standard fare for most VA projects, and I won't be too picky if you have a little background noise I can clean up or slightly lower quality audio, but please don't send in auditions that sound like they were recorded in a tin can, on a moving train, or on 20 year old hardware.


- Multiple takes encouraged but not strictly required. Giving me multiple takes gives me a better idea of your range of emotion and flexibility as your character and may increase your chances of getting cast, but this is not a strict requirement.

- This is a strictly anti-harrassment fandub. If you attempt to harrass your fellow cast members or staff for any reason, especially petty fandom drama, you are subject to potential termination from the project. Please just be kind and accepting of your fellow castmates, I want this to be a positive and welcoming community! Please do not audition if you think it is okay to harrass or doxx others over fiction.

- Please include your Discord ID (just as confirmation you have one and that the right people are joining the cast server), as well as if you are comfortable with being double cast or cast as a character you didn't audition for in your audition description.


Additional information:

- The characters Kohane Azusawa and Emu Otori are not listed on this casting call as they have been reserved by the director. If the availability of roles changes for any reason, I will post a CCC announcement on the project about it!

- Final casting decisions will all be made after the deadline, so no worries about getting in auditions ASAP. You will be considered as long as your audition is submitted before 11:59 PM EDT on May 28th!


- However, I will likely be listening to auditions as they come in, in order to speed up the final casting process as much as possible.

 - If there is a lack of quality auditions by the deadline, I may extend the deadline or double cast auditionees who are comfortable with it.

- If you are interested in this project but worry you may not be able to audition by the deadline, please feel free to message me here on CCC! I would be happy to work with you to figure something out.


- Those who are cast will receive a CCC DM from me with a link to the cast Discord server. Please check your DMs regularly when the deadline is up so you don't miss it!

- Don't end up casted? Don't lose hope! You may be contacted about providing lines for NPC roles, so please still check your CCC DMs regularly!

  • (Mostly) Final Casting

    Hello, everyone!

    As of now I have every role except Shizuku Hinomori cast. I will be assigning roles through CCC and DMing everyone who was cast with links to the server now. Check your CCC DMs (or Discord if you've already conversed with me there) to learn which roles you were cast as and get the link to the server. If you'd like to decline a role for any reason (everyone was only cast as those they've indicated they were comfortable with, so this hopefully shouldn't be an issue) please let me know as soon as possible!

  • Pseudo Callbacks/Minor Deadline Extension

    Thank you for all the submissions and interest in the project!

    Since we still have one character with no auditions and others with only a few so far, I'm going to extend the deadline slightly to 5PM EDT on Wednesday, May 31st. During this time, I'll be issuing "pseudo callbacks" to various people with suggested tweaks for auditions and/or requests to submit auditions for other characters. These will aid me in the casting process and allow me to hear more of your voices/your ranges to help decide the final cast. Turning in whatever I request by the deadline is not required to be cast, but they will give me more material to work with, so I would recommend it if you have the time and interest. If you have any concerns about that deadline, please let me know as soon as possible after receiving my first message!

    Do keep in mind that not everyone will receive a message! If you don't receive any feedback about your auditions, this does not mean you aren't being considered. To the contrary, for some auditioners I already have a role clearly in mind and am just waiting to have a full cast list to announce it, so please be patient in waiting for the final cast list, which will likely drop sometime on May 31st, and will definitely be available by the end of the day on June 1st.

Leo/need's vocalist and guitarist. She's known Saki, Honami, and Shiho since they were little, but a certain event drove a wedge between them. Ichika loves listening to Miku songs.

Although Ichika seems stoic at first glance, she is a quiet, modest, and kind girl who is always thinking about her friends. Adding to her kind nature, and despite her insistence, she is good at complimenting others. According to Honami, she doesn't always communicate very well.

Leo/need's drummer. She excels in both sports and schoolwork and has a kind and caring personality. Honami has been friends with her band members since childhood, but drifted apart from them during junior high school.

Honami is smart, athletic, and kind. She is nice towards everyone, and always takes their feelings into consideration, deeply caring for them. However, this can lead her to being indecisive, and has difficulty with expressing her own feelings, worrying that people may not like her for it. She doesn't want others to worry about her, and tends to get emotional very easily. Despite this, she's always supportive of her friends, thinking of them very often; the moral of her character being "...when you try to be on everyone's side, you end up on no one's..." and that there is more than one form of kindness.

Shiho is introverted and dislikes interacting with others. She immerses herself in her hobbies and doesn't care what other people think about her. Although she is introverted, she is not unkind, and is usually willing to help others. She is a straightforward person and speaks bluntly. Her cold, detached demeanor comes from her fear of hurting and dragging down those around her. Because of her aloof persona, rumors about her have previously spread throughout school, most of which claimed her to be a bully, often plotting something.

Minori is an optimistic, hard-working girl who has shown her determination and dedication to becoming an idol, something others often compliment her on. She has a kind heart and tries to be considerate of others. However, she is also clumsy, tends to get panicked easily, and often has trouble keeping her composure. This is accompanied by her habit of saying whatever's on her mind, and she seems to find it easy to express her emotions without restraint, purposefully or not.

Haruka was a member of the nationally famous idol group ASRUN. Her incredible charisma made her the most popular member of that group, but unfortunately, it was disbanded. She goes to Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy, same as Minori.

In Minori's words, she is "the kind of idol who is able to give everyone hope for a better tomorrow". She is a strict and dedicated person, working in regular routines of rigorous workouts to stay at an idol's standard. However, due to her overly diligent nature, she has difficulty relaxing and giving herself a break. She restricts herself on sweets and pastries, which, in response, causes cravings. She is attentive to the schedules and specials of pastry shops.

Airi used to be a TV personality, appearing on many variety shows. She's very confident to the point of coming off as pushy sometimes. Despite being very passionate and invested in her budding idol career, something happened that resulted in her quitting her talent agency.

Airi is strong-minded and comes across as pushy to some. According to Minori, she is strict but reliable. She is very protective of her friends and family, and hates bullies. She was more tomboyish as a child, though that was frequently shot down by her mother. To this day, Airi still retains some of her headstrong attitude.

Akito was inspired to get into music by An's dad. He sings with his partner Toya at the BAD DOGS clubhouse.

Akito appears to be an easygoing guy at first. However, his personality drastically changes when music is involved, becoming hot-blooded and passionate to the point where people find him scary. He respects anyone who is passionate about their interest and hates half-hearted people. He acts polite towards acquaintances and strangers, but when in the presence of people he is familiar with, he drops this act, showing his true gruff personality. Though Akito can be rude at times and occasionally plays pranks on Tsukasa, he is a dependable and caring person.

His voice is softer in his "nice guy" persona, compared to his usual brusque self.

His strict dad, a classical musician, had Toya take music classes for especially talented children from a young age. This early education brought results, but in an act of defiance against his father, Toya became a street musician.

Toya is quiet and calm but has a strong mind. His face is often deadpan, and people other than Akito and Tsukasa have difficulty reading his expressions. When people talk to him, they usually mistake him for being rude, as he is blunt and often misphrases his statements. Despite his stoic demeanor, he is kind and quick to help others. He can occasionally be airheaded or gullible.

Tsukasa has bucketloads of confidence and loves to be the center of attention, although he easily gets carried away. A theater show he saw as a kid impressed him so much that he made it his ultimate goal to become the greatest star in the world. He's a supportive brother to his frail sister, Saki.

He has a notable habit of showing off, alongside a tendency to get caught up in the moment.

Tsukasa comes off as loud and pompous.

Nene joined the group at Rui's recommendation. For some reason, she refuses to show herself to Tsukasa and Emu, deploying Robo-Nene to perform shows in her place.

Nene is shy and has difficulty talking to others. However, she speaks very bluntly around people she is comfortable with. She is sharp-tongued, once calling Tsukasa an "idiot that wants to be the greatest star", Emu a "girl with sky-high energy that's always shouting 'Wonderhoy!'", and Rui a "director who has his head all over the place". Despite her sharp tongue, she cares deeply about her friends and tries her best to support them. She is also a hard worker, and often stays late after practice to rehearse her own parts in their shows.

In this role, you will be acting as both Nene and Robo-Nene. Robo-Nene's voice is almost identical to Nene's but with a cold, robotic tone. In the actual project, I may apply a filter to Robo-Nene's lines to further sell the robotic quality of her voice.

Nene's neighbor and childhood friend. He's meticulous about making every show the best it can be, making use of his flair for technology and inventiveness. He even builds robots to use on stage. His somewhat unique way of thinking often gets him labeled as a weirdo.

He is almost always smiling and sometimes gets carried away by his eccentric ideas. This includes using people as test dummies for his ideas and waterboarding them in swimming pools, as stated by Nene. Despite the apparent riskiness of his ideas, Rui does his best to take safety into consideration.  Rui also has levels of curiosity that borderline on obsession, as he loves to take toys and home appliances apart to see how they work. He is also a teasing and playful person, with an example being his constant ideas for performances that often involve putting Tsukasa's life in danger.

Kanade was traumatized when her music inadvertently led someone very dear to her into depression. This unfortunate event resulted in her focusing on creating songs which inspired hope, and she created Nightcord at 25:00 specifically with this goal in mind. She composes songs for the group.

Kanade appears to be very accepting and sympathetic towards her fellow circle members; they are grateful for her and the group she created. She aspires to make other people happy with her music as her father once did. Incredibly hardworking to the point of skipping sleep and overworking herself, she puts almost too much effort into her work. As well as this, Kanade will urge other circle members to rest whilst continuing to push herself to make more and more songs.

Kanade speaks with a very soft voice with a whisper-like quality.

The lyricist of Nightcord at 25:00. She's the only member of the group who attends daytime classes. She seems to have no flaws whatsoever... or is she just putting on a facade?

Mafuyu is admired for her smarts, athleticism, and the humble sincerity she shows when she is praised for these talents. She is known to be kind, generous, and considerate, her words always polite and her voice being soft and warm. She is difficult, arguably impossible, to anger, for any hesitation she shows that might portray disagreement or displeasure is immediately covered with a gentle smile. Others are not afraid to rely on her, and they often have high hopes for her, knowing that she has met expectations before and will continue to do so.

To everyone else, Mafuyu is a "good girl." However, to herself and the other members of her unit, she is dispassionate, largely lacking in emotion and empathy. Her true self being lost a long time ago, she is desperately searching to find herself once again. Mafuyu’s personality underneath her facade is considerably more cold and blunt. Her voice is dull and her face is flat, both holding little feeling. She speaks few words, and the words she does speak tend to be no more than what is necessary. While she is not pleasant, polite, or "good", she is honest, and it is only within her cold honesty that her true feelings are given the slightest chance to show themselves. The other members of Nightcord at 25:00 recognize this in their willingness to offer a space where she can be "rehabilitated."

Her voice in her good girl persona is warm, friendly, and mild-mannered. Her natural voice is lower, dull and emotionless.

Ena's desperate craving for recognition has led to her becoming addicted to social media. Her dad is a famous painter, and she posts her own art online. Kanade came across Ena's artwork, and invited her to join the group as an illustrator.

Ena is a strong-willed girl. When she draws, she is completely absorbed in her work and disregards everything around her. As observed by her fellow members, she forgets to turn off her mic, and they then hear her muttering several comments about her illustrations, mostly about how they're not what she is going for. Because of her father's dismissal towards her and her art, she has grown envious of those she deems to have talent and becomes bitter when those people throw it away. Deep down, she herself believes that she is talentless. Furthermore, she craves attention and praise for her art, leading her down the road of perfectionism. She gets flustered when her fellow members compliment them and angry when they do otherwise.

She is also described as a "tsundere" by Mizuki. Though she is not usually cold, she sometimes hesitates when her friends suggest ideas that she is not into. She can also be somewhat blunt and sarcastic around them. However, she has a caring and soft side as well. She expresses concern for Kanade's health, and tries to help Mafuyu recover her lost identity.

Falling in love with one of Kanade's songs found at random online, Mizuki created a music video for it, which in turn caught Kanade's attention. That's how Mizuki became the group's animator. Friends though they may be, Mizuki keeps a big secret from the rest of the group.

Mizuki is a moody person, and Kanade thinks they only act on their own principles. They tend to get frustrated and upset when ridiculed, and strongly desire to express themselves freely, without holding back or being made fun of. They have an obsession with cute things, expressing it through their hand-altered fashion.

They are often playful and cheery, especially with strangers.
