Introduction

Hello! I am Connor Wolstencroft, otherwise known as Connor Wheatley or Rick Diggins. This is a fandub of at least the first arc of the Go Go Power Rangers comic book series by BOOM! Studios, but will hopefully end up being a dub of the entire Power Rangers comic book series.
If you were hoping to be the red ranger, I've already taken the role of Jason because this project was initially created as a way for me to get some more voiceover work. However, I may end up recasting the role if I feel I don't fit the character, but even if I don't there are still plenty more red rangers in the greater Power Rangers franchise to come in later.

Plot Synopsis
==================================================================
After 10,000 years, Rita Repulsa has been freed from her space prison and is ready to conquer the planet Earth. Zordon, an old sage trapped in a time warp, senses her awakening and summons five teenagers with attitude to fight the forces of evil. Jason, Billy, Kimberly, Zack, and Trini accept the call to action and become superheroes with the powers of the dinosaurs: the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

This is a (potentially) complete dub of the Power Rangers comics by BOOM! Studios. Because all of the different series by BOOM have intertwining stories, I want to dub and release all of them in chronological order. I want to start with the first arc of the Go Go Power Rangers comic series, and if it goes well we'll continue with the first arc of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.

Audition Requirements
==================================================================
- Good sound quality (no headphone mics)
- You don't need any prior knowledge or interest in the Power Rangers franchise, but I ask that you at least take the auditions and characters seriously
- Record auditions in AAABBBCCC format. For those who don't know, this means you need three different takes/versions of each line. This will allow you to provide different deliveries of the lines or try different voices for the characters in your audition.
- Please be 16+ years old. I may make some exceptions to this but don't count on it. I would like the minimum age to be 16.
- Please leave your discord, email, or some other method of contact in your audition
- Please be punctual with your line turn-ins. If you're too busy to get lines done, or something pops up last minute it's fine as long as you communicate. Don't just ignore your lines without any heads-up

Billy is the blue ranger. He's easily the smartest of the group, but also the youngest and lacks self-confidence. Billy isn't a skilled fighter like the other rangers, and therefore he tends to feel as though he doesn't deserve to be a part of the team. He's a shy, anxious, highly intelligent young man.
In the original show he was played by David Yost, who has a mid-high pitched, very slightly nasally voice. However, you do not have to do a 1-1 David Yost impression. Feel free to do your own take on the shy smart kid archetype. Regardless, here is the first episode of MMPR to get an idea of how the rangers act and sound in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

[Making casual conversation with Trini] "Trini, if you actually tell your crush how you feel, your chances of dating will increase exponentially."
[Serious tone. Discussing with Kimberly after Rita Repulsa has offered a truce.] "If you're asking if I've considered her offer...Statistically speaking, a peaceful resolution is preferable to any loss of life. But I have a hard time believing anyone who sends giant monsters to hurt my friends and smash up my home."
[Somber tone] "I know. I'm sorry. I was...um...thinking about our mutual problems. And I think I may have a solution. You want to protect Matt, and I want to help the team, right? So...I think Matt should become the new blue ranger..."
Kimberly is the pink ranger. She's a classic teenage valley girl. She's the newest member of the group, having just moved to the small town of Angel Grove. She can have a bit of an attitude at times, but at her core, she's a sweet and caring person. She's a gymnast. She has a boyfriend named Matt, but her second life as a Power Ranger tends to get in the way of her relationship.
In the original series, Kimberly was played by Amy Jo Johnson. Even though she is defined as a valley girl, she doesn't have a stereotypical valley girl accent, though you're welcome to try it. She had a standard popular teenage girl voice in the original show. However, you do not have to do a 1-1 impression of Amy Jo Johnson. Some different variations of her voice would be appreciated as this is a slightly different take on the character. Regardless, here is the first episode of MMPR to get an idea of how the original characters sound and act in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

[Defensive, offended] "I'M insane?! Did I make a mistake? Sure. Totally own that. In fact, I came back looking to apologize! But THESE TWO have been acting crazy town toward me since day one!"
[Inner dialogue. Anxious about her first date with Matt] "Why did I wear flats? I feel like a gnome. Is it weird if I ask him to take me home so I can change shoes?"
[Panicking. Matt has been knocked out by a giant monster.] "Matty! Please be okay...Please..." [Switches to anger. Seething with rage. Furious over Matt being fatally injured.] "...You just made the biggest mistake of your short life! IT'S MORPHIN' TIME! PTERODACTYL!""
Trini is the yellow ranger. She is descended from a Taiwanese father and a Korean mother. She was born in Taiwan but moved to Angel Grove as a child. She is a skilled martial artist and the second smartest in the group, with Billy, the Blue Ranger, being the first. She is the only one able to translate Billy's nerd-speak. She has a crush on Jason, the Red Ranger, but is too shy to do anything about it. Overall, she is a slightly introverted, friendly, intelligent girl.
Trini was played by the late Thuy Trang in the original series. She did not have any kind of stereotypical East Asian accent and I don't intend to give her one, so please don't try to do one unless it's your natural speaking voice. I don't want any racist depictions of characters. Other than that there isn't anything in particular I'm looking for in her voice, so do whatever you think might work for the character. Regardless, here is the first episode of MMPR to get an idea of how the characters act and sound in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

[Depressed, stressed. Complaining to Kimberly that she forgot her mothers birthday.] "Can I live with you...I'm about to be homeless...I forgot my moms birthday! It was last week and I was so preoccupied with setting up Angel Day and I just- Y'know? I'm horrible..."
[Anxious, whispering to herself. About to talk to Jason] "(Don't throw up Trini. Just don't throw up) Jason! Nice one! It's about time someone put Bulk in his place. Um...any chance you maybe wanna skip out on sixth period and help me with a research project? With all that's going on, I don't think anyone will notice."
[Serious-ish tone. Trini has brought Jason out to a remote area on the outskirts of town, and is explaining why.] "To get answers. We've been rangers for what, a few days now? It's not like Zordon gave us an owner's manual. What can we do? What can't we do? Do we have powers we don't know about? What are our weaknesses? I don't know about you, but I'd like to know stuff like that before stepping into another fight."
Zack is the black ranger. He has a strong, outgoing attitude and has arguably the closest relationship with Jason, the red ranger. He is quite socially perceptive and is the first one able to tell something is wrong with Matt. He tends to have strong opinions when it comes to the safety and structure of the team, being concerned about Jason's status as leader, Billy's decision to leave the team, and later on when Tommy joins the team. Overall he is a very light-hearted, charming person.
He was played by Walter Emanual Jones in the original series. He has a medium-toned voice, but feel free to go with whatever you feel suits the character. Regardless, here is the first episode of MMPR to get a better idea of how the original characters sound and act.

[Casual, comedic] "Matt, remember when we were nine and we vowed that, if we ever had to go to a dance--I mean, we weren't going to--but if we had to, we'd wear a full suit of armor. Swords and everything. Remember that?"
[Upset. Arguing with Zordon.] "Why wasn't I chosen? I love Jason, I do, but back on the moon when he went looking for Rita, I found the missing astronauts. And yesterday, when he got himself in trouble, I led the team against the Flog. Am I not good enough? What's the deal?"
[Serious, suspicious] "Billy, listen to me. We gotta keep an eye on him at the dance. That armor thing I mentioned? That never happened."
Zordon is an old sage who was trapped in a time warp by Rita Repulsa. He currently exists only has a floating head in a tube. When Rita Repulsa was freed from her space prison, he chose five teenagers with attitude to accept the power coins and become the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He serves as a mentor to the Power Rangers. He has a wise and serious nature.
Zordon was voiced by David Fielding in the original series. He has a deep, calm, and somewhat monotone voice. This voice should be pretty close to the original voice. Here is the first episode of MMPR to get a better idea of how Zordon sounds and acts.

Rita Repulsa is the main antagonist of the series. She is a pure evil, menace to society. Thousands of years ago she trapped the sage Zordon in a time warp. She is also in possession of the green power coin, which she later gives to Tommy Oliver.
In the original series, she is voiced by Barbara Goodson. She has a high-pitched, raspy, shrieking voice. You are welcome to try other takes on the character though. Regardless, here is the first episode of MMPR to get a better idea of how the characters sound and act in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

[Taunting, menacing] "So the fearless Red Ranger abandons the others to face me...alone. You should have brought your friends."
[Taunting, menacing] "I wanted us to all have a proper introduction, so I had my palace lead you to me. My name is Rita Repulsa, and you have all made a terrible mistake."
Matt is a character exclusive to the comics. He is a childhood friend of Zack, the black ranger, and the boyfriend of Kimberly, the pink ranger. He is unaware of his friends' secret lives, and it begins to affect his relationships with them. Eventually, he is kidnapped and tortured by Rita Repulsa and replaced with a monster lookalike. He is a skilled athlete and a kind soul. Despite his tough looks, he's a big softie.
Obviously, this role includes both Matt and his imposter. As for his voice, since he doesn't have a TV counterpart, it's mostly up to you. I imagine him with a mid-deep kind of tough guy voice, but not mean-sounding, but you can do whatever you'd like.

[Slightly nervous, stumbling a bit over his words. On a date with Kimberly] "Look, I'm not great at--y'know--talking. The last few days have been freaky weird, but they also made me realize some stuff. When that giant monkey appeared and everyone started freaking out, I didn't run or hide, I just thought..."where's Kim?"
[Comedic] "Billy, Billy, Billy...Gotta learn to duck! I'm telling you, just say the word and the football team duct tapes Bulk to the goalpost!"
[exasperated, scared, panicked] "WAIT!!! (need...to breath...ran all the way...Zack...Kim...) I WAS ABDUCTED BY ALIENS AND HELD CAPTIVE ON THE MOON!"
Ernie is the owner of the Angel Grove Youth Center, the main hangout for the teens of Angel Grove, including the Power Rangers. He's a nice, chill guy.
He isn't a huge character so the exact voice doesn't matter, just do whatever you think will fit! The only thing I had in mind was a mid-deep tone of voice.

[Talking to Jason. Wondering why he works so hard at martial arts] "I honestly don't get it kid. You're six-feet of handsome, so polite you're practically Canadian and yet you spend every waking moment punching and kicking. You worried someone's gonna kick your but?"
[Sad tone. Revealing to Jason that he's going to have to close the Youth Center] "Don't have a choice, kid. I've had six staff members bolt since arrival day. No staff, no classes. No classes, no center."
Born Farkas "Bulk" Bulkmeier, Bulk and his best friend Skull are the local bullies of Angel Grove. They usually target Billy, the blue ranger, in particular. Bulk and Skull are the comic relief of the series, and their antics usually end up backfiring on them. Despite their rotten attitudes, Bulk and Skull really care about each other like brothers.
Bulk has a mid-deep voice. His voice doesn't need to be 1-1 to the original, but regardless here is the first episode of MMPR to give you a better idea of how the characters act and sound in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

[Starts angry and confident, switches to less confident at the end] "Hey! My buddy's out there too, juice boy! And because of you, he's got no one out there looking for him! So if anyone's going, well...it's...um."
Eugine "Skull" Skullovitch is the best friend of Bulk, and one of Angel Grove's main bullies. He tends to serve as the side-kick to Bulk. He's a goofy kind of guy.
He has a mid-high-pitched voice, with a bit of a rasp to it. Feel free to do your own take on the character, but regardless here is the first episode of MMPR to get a better idea of how the characters sound and act in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

[Nervous, scared, and excited. Fanboying over the Blue Ranger, not realizing that it's Billy] "Hey, before you go, if you guy like, you know, ever wanna hang out whenever you're not, ya know, saving the world...my buddy bulk and I, we're a lot like you!"
Squatt is a short, fat little monster guy who serves as one of Rita Repulsa's henchmen. He exists purely for comic relief and doesn't have much of a personality.
His voice is deep and goofy, but the specifics honestly don't matter. Go nuts!

Baboo is a tall, lanky henchman of Rita Repulsa. Like Squatt, he has very little personality and exists purely for comic relief.
He has a medium, goofy, slightly nasally voice, kind of like the classic "ehm, actually" voice. Beyond that, you can do whatever you want.

Goldar is the strongest and most respected subordinate of Rita Repulsa. He is a weird monkey-dragon hybrid. He has a strong sense of honor and his commitment to Rita is as strong as his hatred for the Power Rangers.
He has a deep, loud, rough, monstrous voice.

[Grabbing Billy and taking him hostage to use him as a shield] "Now, lower your weapons and surrender. Or I'll take the blue one's helmet-- along with his head."
[Commenting on the concept of prom king and queen] "This is no way to choose a king. A ruler should have to bleed for his crown."
Finster is one of Rita Repulsa's most valued subordinates and the creator of all of her monsters. He is a somewhat elderly monster who is generally calm in nature and doesn't exhibit any particularly evil traits despite serving Rita.
He has a calm, soft-spoken, sophisticated, slightly nasally voice
