Magical Fantasy Adventure Popful Mail is a 1991 computer game for the PC88 developed by Falcom. It had several later releases. There was a localization of the Sega CD title, however it greatly altered dialogue and gameplay.
This project aims to create a more faithful adaptation, and we're sticking with the PC Engine title (Turbografx outside of Japan). This game released in 1994 and was never localized.

I've spent months with a friend from Tokyo translating the game and we know people with the ability to implement text into these old titles. While they are quite new to it, the hope is that it will be doable. We are reaching out to more people to get more help with that task! Regardless, our next step is to dub all the audio. I've already gotten several people onboard this project, but we are still looking for more people to join us!
Some lines will have somewhat strict timing, you'll be given videos showing the cutscenes play out and when a line must be spoken. I will also provide documents with direction for each line. It's a bit complicated to dub an old game we don't have the source-code for, but I will do my best to work around these restrictions and welcome any and all questions.
Please, give it a try and help us bring this wonderful game to the English speaking sphere. Payment will be given after I've received all audio files in the wave format.
The dub will be uploaded to youtube as a showcase video while the modders work to implement it into the game and create a patch.

In a few hours as I go over notes and relisten to some auditions I'll make my choices, but I thank everyone for giving it a go. I genuinely love this game so much and I'm happy that there's been nearly 700 people wanting to join this project. That's not to mention the people I know personally who are already working on voicing this game. I will do my best to make this fan-dub a good one!
I selected the voice for Mail and was planning on slowly picking more people during the next few days, but I've been told that's kinda bad etiquette, so for everyone else I'm gonna leave submissions open until the deadline. I apologize if that caused any frustration or disappointment, I've never done a project like this and I want to do my best!
Thankfully I got help to figure this out and now the videos are in Japanese as they should be.
We realized we were giving too many roles to people within our own group, so please take a look at the list of roles currently added to the project.
The protagonist. A strong-willed bounty hunter down on her luck. Mail takes a bounty which sends her on a wild journey. She's greedy, a bit of a hot-head but still cares for people. Throughout the game she slowly stops caring about money and focuses more on doing the right thing.

Main Antagonist. An old mage who wants to leave his mark on history. He's the master of Tatto, one of the playable characters. He used to be beloved by the people around him, but he suddenly turned mad. He unleashed an ancient evil to become powerful and send the land into endless fear and darkness.
