This is a fan-made animation series based primarily on the games of Pokémon, Pokémon Origins, and the manga, Pokémon Special/Pokémon Adventures. I will be going back and forth between the games and the manga in order to accurately display the Pokémon world. No money will be made from this. It's just a fan animation.
Questions/FAQ:
What is this project?: It's an animation series of Pokémon to be loyal to the games more than Origins (such as Red being a mute character) yet introduce new elements such as adding Green and Yellow to the mix of characters like the manga.
How long is the intended final product?: I plan for it to be a season of a 24 episodes (though it may stretch to 26) for Season 1. They will be normal anime length of 20 minutes or so.
What is the time frame for when the project will be completed?: I want to give the animators plenty of time to animate, so the auditions are mostly right now to cast animators and other crucial parts of the process, such as composers and soloist musicians for the music. I plan to have two episodes a month if possible, since I will personally be drawing a lot of the key frames and just having animators trace my work, which will be on paper scanned since I do best with traditional artwork, and add frames between.
How fast do you require actors turnaround time be?: I want it to be reasonable. I won't be casting voice actors for a while, and constantly move the date to get the most auditions, so audition all you want, but when it comes time and you actually get a role, I need you to be able to have like a week to record for an episode, and another week to do redo if necessary.
Why do I need animators?: I am not skilled with computer artwork even though I have a tablet. I have bad hand shaking problems which prevent me from doing anything put a constant undo button and my computer doesn't read my strokes as well as it should. Most of the artwork will be done by hand by me, but I need people to be able to outline and edit, to make it better, and add frames in between my key frames, to make it smooth animation. The coloring will be done by colorers, so you won't have to worry about that as an animator.
What is my vision for this?: I want to capture the beauty of Pokémon that the games shows as well as fill in the gaps that Pokémon Origins left. It has been for a long time a desire of the Pokémon community to have a show that accurately portrays the game, but adds on some itself for the fans to have new experiences with the characters. I want my show to be that. I made the characters a little older so the show would be more mature.
Who is Blue, who is Green?: I know this causes great confusion with their names being switched in English and Japanese. I made the female, Leaf in the games, Green due to her having Bulbasaur in this. This is so that Red can have the fan-favorite, Charmander, that matches his name. I made Blue be Blue because he has a Squirtle. Their eye colors are green and blue, mismatched from their name, but it works more with what their starter is.
What do I need to be cast?: Have a discord account, as we will be using it. Other than that, have fun and be interested in Pokémon!
