Latest Updates

  • The Crunch is on!

Now that I have all the voice lines, I am going to charge ahead recording and editing footage and attaching the voice lines!
  • Project Underway!

It's been a good 9 months since the start of this project. It's mostly been just waiting to receive lines from fairly early on in the game. Now that we're finally making some good headway on progress, I can start editing footage I have with the audio I've received. So we're making actual headway! Thank you to everyone in the project. Your work is very much appreciated. I plan to make separate videos for just the individual Social Links by themselves. That way it really showcases your work all in one video so it doesn't get lost in the normal format. I hope to bring it to you all soon!
  • Moving Forward

The project began with Auditions in March and casting in April. I have had about 60-70% of the lines needed by July. Honestly, it's that last thirty percent that took a while to get and I've whittled it down to 90% completion. That's pretty good, but whether we reach 100% is still up in the air. However, it would be a waste to the majority of you that sent in all your files and did some good work contributing to this project. So I'm going to go ahead and get started! I'll have a link to your particular parts when I have them finished. :)
  • Changed Deadline

The New Deadline to finish ALL LINES will be Sept. 15 I wanted all lines submitted by July's start to prevent postponing the project's start. That did not come to be. I've decided to extend the deadline. If any of you still have lines to submit, please do so as soon as you can. Now, if you can't post anything at all/been putting off the project, then let me know that you've got something going on on your end. If it turns out you are unable to continue participating, please let me know. I know stepping down from a project might be demoralizing, but I would prefer up front honesty so I know the next move that I will need to make in the creative process.
  • July is approaching

So this project has had a really rough time getting to completion. I don't know if it's because I haven't been pushing for one-on-one chats in discord to go over lines and do voice direction, or if it's just because busy schedules are mounting even during these times we have on our hands at the moment. In all honesty, I would love to do voice direction and one-on-one chats, but I left it up to you guys and mostly kept a hands-off approach out of good faith, only making rounds to check up on you every now and again. I'm going to keep up the faith, but I am going to post this update asking that any and all finalized lines be sent on the last day of June. I need some form of progress so I can sort what I have so far and review if this is going in the direction that I'd like. We are about 70% finalized and while that's overall a very large amount, it's also two months past when I expected this project to already be under way. I honestly did not expect so much time would need to have elapsed for this. I hope this isn't a major inconvenience to anyone. I understand I don't know the ins and outs of everyone's lives here, but I am trying to make good on my own self-imposed deadlines for my own sake (and sanity). I would really appreciate it if at the very least, I received communication without needing to ask for it. I do want to take this time to thank everyone who has finished up their work and gotten back with me. I appreciate communication and you guys did some fantastic work. I know I've mentioned that I was hesitant to open this project up to others, but I know my own limits and this project means a lot to me and I just want to do right by my own expectations for myself, so I'm happy to have received your help on this. To all of you, I hope I can do right by you as well when I present the finalized project. I want this to be something we can all be proud of.

Kenji is a fellow second-year student at Gekkokan High who has a thing for older women. Due to this disposition, he begins to develop affection for one of the teachers. Kenji's storyline follows his one-sided feelings for her and concludes with the realization that it's probably best to move on.

Kenji needs to be fairly animated, sound casual, and completely over the moon in self-deluded love. A lot of the in-game prompts interrupt him to communicate that he has a LOT to say about whatever he's going on about. So you need to be comfortable with recording lines as if you intend to say more even though you never actually will.

  • Here are actual lines from Kenji's script that you can use for your audition.

Kenji: ...Well, to tell you the truth, I--wait, this is just between us,
okay?--I have my eye on someone.
Kenji: This is the "secret plan" I was talking about. I'm going to ask her
    out.
Kenji: Not that that's a big deal or anything. Well, I guess it IS a big deal
since she's a teacher at our school...
Kenji: Anyways, I want you to be there when I ask her out. But you gotta
promise you won't tell anyone, okay?
Kenji: Cuz if people find out they'll be all like, "That's inappropriate" or
    whatever...

  • Kenji: I never really thought about my future until Emiri told me I should.
She said I'd end up a loser if I didn't.
Kenji: But, the future's a long way off, dude. I mean, first I have to go to
    college, right?
Kenji: All of Emiri's students go to good colleges.
Kenji: She must be thinking about our future together...

  • Kenji: When Emiri left, I was really sad, but I'm not sure what I was sad
    about...
Kenji: Did I really love Emiri, or did I just love the idea of being in a
    relationship with a teacher...?

Role assigned to: CaseyVA

Fuuka is a soft-spoken girl who goes to the same Creative Club as the protagonist and thus will have her own self-contained social link lines, as well as lines during the Creative Club Social Link events.

In the creative club, Fuuka is very supportive of the Club Leader just as all the other students are. Her lines are mostly minor in nature, but she does get a scene where she is complaining of a headache and becomes rather embarrassed as the Club Leader begins examining her condition.

In Fuuka's Social Link, she reveals that she has spent most of her life enthralled with technology, but had never dabbled in the art of more "feminine" activities such as cooking. Fuuka's story follows her attempts to become better at cooking so she can make something for the protagonist that is enjoyable to eat. Simultaneously, she reveals her tendency to doubt herself and her attempts to become more confident.

  • Fuuka: To be honest, my cooking still doesn't taste very good...
Fuuka: It's not the way I make it, it's just...
Fuuka: When I'm cooking, I think to myself, "This isn't going to taste
    good..."
    Fuuka: ......
Fuuka: *sigh* I just wish I was good at something...

  • Fuuka: Something happened in a bookstore that I want to forget...
    Fuuka: It was last April...
Fuuka: Someone took a picture of me...
    Fuuka: ..."stealing."
    Fuuka: Well, I'm short...
Fuuka: And when I was reaching for the top shelf, I accidentally knocked some
    books down...
Fuuka: Somehow, they landed in my bag.

  • Fuuka: The other day I let Yukari-chan try one of my rice balls.
Fuuka: She liked it so much she began to eat the rest of them...
Fuuka: So I told her that I made them to thank everyone for all they've done
    for me.

Mitsuru is a young woman who will one day inherit her father's company, Kirijo Group. During her Social Link, Mitsuru will reveal things that she has never done before because her life mostly revolves around business and her studies. Another interesting thing to note is that she is in an arranged marriage: she doesn't care for the man, but she was originally going to follow through because the marriage was intended to save her father's company.

Mitsuru's voice is on the lower range. She speaks very politely, but possesses the power to sound firm and to the point.

  • Mitsuru: Hmm... The taste is quite interesting...
Mitsuru: I thought it tasted strange at first, but as I continued to eat, I
realized it had a subtle charm to it.
    Mitsuru: ...It's quite delicious.
    Mitsuru: Pardon me, Chef..

  • Mitsuru: Since my father passed away... I've been faced with many difficult
    problems...
Mitsuru: My inheritance.... the future of Kirijo... and the expectations of
    everyone involved with both...
Mitsuru: Most likely I won't be able to attend college or begin a profession.
I will have to find another path.

  • Mitsuru: With a motorcycle, I can go where I want, when I want, all by myself.
Mitsuru: It's my modest attempt at rebelling against my restricted life.
Mitsuru: I had planned to get rid of it after it was damaged, but I decided to
    have it repaired instead.
Mitsuru: It may be a bit of an exaggeration to say I cherish it, but I do
enjoy riding it when I have time to.

Some people really despise this character. It's not relevant to the lines themselves, but I do want to point out that this role may not be nearly as desired as some of the others just because she isn't that well liked by the fan base. I'm honestly not sure why. Perhaps it might be because she is more upfront about her problems.

Yukari's Social Link focuses on her strained relationship with her mother. Ever since the death of her father, Yukari has grown more distant and disapproves of her mom's lifestyle, finding it disrespectful to the memory of her late father. As time progresses, she wants to try and find a way to handle her complicated feelings.

Yukari's voice is mid-range. She's very blunt and often comes across as annoyed or aggressive, but she is very sincere and appreciates beautiful things (like flowers, for instance).

  • Yukari: Oh, sorry.
Yukari: I'm looking at flowers for my room.
Yukari: Hey, I think I'm gonna go with gerberas, but which color should I get?

  • Yukari: I don't really care if she wants to get married again, but I can't
    stand how she's been living...
Yukari: Running away from life, jumping from guy to guy...
Yukari: I don't think that's fair to my dad.

  • Yukari: I'm not sure how to say this, but...
Yukari: When I'm with you, I don't feel so alone...
Yukari: I mean, I do have friends... and there's everybody at the dorm, but...
Yukari: Usually, I feel like the real me is trapped somewhere deep down
    inside...
Yukari: Maybe it's because of my family... Each time I open my eyes, it seems
    like I'm one step behind.

Kazushi Miyamoto

Role assigned to: NoahSegura

Kazushi is a fellow athlete in the Sports team you pick within the game. Regardless of which club you join, his problem remains the same. Kazushi instantly takes a liking to the main protagonist and considers him a worthy rival, however; due to over-training, Kazushi suffers an accident and injures his leg. He tries to hide his injury and keep pace with his classmates to no avail. Eventually, he is forced to swallow his pride and rest or risk losing function of his leg entirely.

Kazushi is a fun character. He is super likeable even if he is a bit bone-headed. He has healthy sportsmanship but is very hard on himself as an athlete. In all honesty, he embodies the Chariot (his marked Arcana) in every way. I'm looking for a voice that sounds pleasant, but has that subtle energy of a guy looking for a challenge.

  • Kazushi: I knew the Bay Area competition would be tough, but I never expected
to be going up against someone like you...
Kazushi: ...I've made up my mind!
Kazushi: One day, I'm gonna beat you!

  • Kazushi: Today, they took x-rays... I'll know the results tomorrow.
Kazushi: I don't know why they couldn't have told me today.
Kazushi: ...Oh, hey! Don't tell anyone about me going to the hospital,
    alright?
    Kazushi: I'm counting on you!
Kazushi: ...I-I'm always asking you to keep quiet... Sorry 'bout that.

  • Kazushi: My nephew got into an accident and his leg got messed up...
Kazushi: He can't walk right now...
Kazushi: ...but if he goes through rehab, he might be able to recover!
Kazushi: He says it hurts too much, though, so he doesn't want to do it...
Kazushi: He's only five. There are so many things he's never done...
Kazushi: I made a deal with my nephew that--don't laugh, alright--
Kazushi: ...if I become number one in Japan, he'll go through rehab.

Yuko's pops up here and there in Kazushi's social links from time to time as she is the Manager of the Athletic Team.

Aside from a little bit of drama from another girl who gives her grief, Yuko's storyline revolves around her uncertainty of the future and what she wants to do in life. It isn't until she helps a group of children that she decides she wants to pursue becoming a coach.

Yuko spends a good amount of time being annoyed and confrontational. After a while though, the story shifts focus and you see her sweet side spill out over these children. There's also a moment where she completely embarrasses herself by accidentally making a statement that could be interpreted as wanting to have children with the main protagonist. I mean... Honestly, Persona 3 is perhaps the most problematic in terms that NONE of the girls want to stay friends, but I think this one in particular really has a hard time keeping the romantic implications to a minimum. She falls hard and fast, so expect your lines to be a little on the flustered side.

  • Yuko: It's tough being a team manager... You don't get any respect.
Yuko: The guys on the team all act like little kids.
Yuko: "Where's my towel?" "Can you wash this for me?"
    Yuko: ...I'm not their mother.

  • Yuko: Once they called me "Coach," I couldn't resist...
Yuko: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to keep you so long...
Yuko: ...But, is there any chance you'd be willing to help me train them?
Yuko: I only know a little bit about racing... and besides, you're pretty
    athletic...
    Yuko: I'd be really grateful.

  • Yuko: Do you remember what I told you at Wild-duck Burger?
Yuko: How Mr. Ekoda reprimanded me about my Classic Literature quiz?
Yuko: Back then, I just wanted to graduate and go to a community college...
Yuko: But after coaching those kids, I started to realize something...

Maiko is a young girl the protagonist meets in the park. Her story is a little sad. She is an energetic little girl who seems happy, but reveals that her parents are going through a divorce and she wants nothing more than to keep them together. Her plan to do so involves running away in the hopes that her parents will stay together when they both realize how important she is to the both of them.

Needless to say, I need someone who is both capable of sounding female and quite young. The more adorable you can sound, the better.

  • Maiko: This is yummy! I love going out to eat!
Maiko: ...'Cause Mom and Dad never argue when we go out to eat.
Maiko: They never used to argue! You have to believe me...
Maiko: But, why would they get a divorce?

  • Maiko: What if I ran away from home...?
Maiko: I want to find out... how they really feel about me.
Maiko: If they love me, then they'd try to look for me, right?

  • Maiko: Mom has been crying a lot lately, and I don't want her to be all alone...
Maiko: Going with her might be best.

Role assigned to: WobiusWovr

Tanaka is a really quirky guy. He takes a liking to the protagonist and puts him under his wing. Nothing the protagonist says angers him. Instead, he provides insight to his way of thinking and leaves it at that.

He is also unusual in that he is probably the only character that does not need the protagonist's support with a problem and comes to his own realizations himself... which is that even though he is a rich and successful businessman who may or may not have shady business practices, he actually enjoys being a mentor for others and watching them succeed.

It's heavily implied that he grew up poor and has that memory constantly in the back of his mind. It's something to keep in mind when recording his lines. He talks about his success a lot and the ugly nature of business, but the implications are fairly clear that he came from humble beginnings, so he's rather proud of what he's accomplished for himself.

  • President Tanaka: We may not be providing tangible benefits, but we do provide
    peace of mind.
President Tanaka: People will pay handsomely for that, you know.
President Tanaka: Take emergency supplies, for example... People feel safe
    just because they have them.

  • President Tanaka: I doubt you'd understand how I feel, since you're still
    young, but...
President Tanaka: A high school reunion is a very important event...
President Tanaka: It's the perfect opportunity to show everyone else how
    pathetic their lives turned out.

  • President Tanaka: The other day, a woman came to my office asking for a
    donation.
President Tanaka: She was a kind of girl that men dream of--drop dead
    gorgeous.
President Tanaka: But, no matter how attractive she was, I was repulsed by
    her dedication to charity work.

Mutatsu is a "monk" who comes off as quite abrasive. He's old and bitter and despises repeating himself. His wife and son have distanced themselves from him and even though he says it does not bother him, he deeply cares for his son and wishes to become close with his family again. The problem is that he is too stubborn and prideful to make the first move.

Mutatsu is quite old and I'm looking for a somewhat gruff sounding voice. He is a bit cranky, but he's also something of a softy  and surprisingly serious about his monk teachings (even though he only took over the temple because he thought it would be easy). So what I'm looking for is someone who can convey a "kindness behind harsh words."

  • Monk: You look awfully young, kid. You still in high school?
Monk: What're the employees here thinkin', lettin' you in...?
Monk: Well, since ya got me a drink, I'll pretend I'm your parent so ya don't
    get thrown outta here.
Monk: ...Well? C'mon, kid, sit down. Havin' to look up at ya is strainin' my
    neck.

  • Mutatsu: Here's a little trick so you don't lose hope in the future.
Mutatsu: ...Just don't expect nothin'. Simple, eh? And that way you won't
    ever be disappointed.
Mutatsu: You're gonna lose your hair eventually, kid, so why bother with it
    now?
Mutatsu: Bald is beautiful. You just wake up in the mornin' and go. No fuss.

  • Mutatsu: I used to stay out past midnight: and when I got home, my wife and I
would get into a big argument...
Mutatsu: ...Now when I go home, I don't know what to do with myself, so I just
come here and drink every night.
