Project Overview

Welcome to the Casting Call for the Persona 3 Manga fandub!


If you're not familiar with Persona 3, I'd suggest heading over to the Persona 3 wiki to familiarize yourself. Warning: Spoilers. If you have not played/read/watched this series before and would like to, please do that first.

The goal for this fandub is to eventually dub the entire manga, however, this specific CC is for chapter one. The process will be a rolling audition, with new characters added when necessary, or old characters replaced if, for any reason, the VA drops or is dropped from the project.

The goal is to have chapter 1 out by Summer, with work on the next few chapters occurring as well. There is no set schedule for release.

What is required from voice actors:
- Turnaround time for lines is within 2 weeks of being given your lines. If you are an established character and return for the next dub, you will receive your lines after the second Casting Call has been created and the next chapter confirmed in the works.
- A love for dubbing. We want you to have passion for this work, especially since you will be filling the roles played by amazing VA's from the original works.
- We do not require you to have acting experience or an amazing microphone. However, preference will be given to those actors who can deliver quality lines and show prowess for their character. Mic quality is a secondary selector.

  • All Roles Have Been Cast

    Holy moley that took forever. You guys made me think, rethink, and then think some more about who to cast for what role, and there were some definite standouts that I hope try for future roles inside of this project! As of now, every role has been cast for the first chapter! I hope you all are as excited as I am to see how it turns out! For those cast, scripts will be sent out to you shortly. Text will deviate slightly in order to correct some spelling mistakes and whatnot, so you can read up on your role online, but expect the wording to be a tad different! For those not cast, this project is going to need voices for the future! If all goes well, another update will be sent out linking to another CC for the second chapter! I hope you all will throw your hat into the ring with that one as well! Just to summarize, thank you all so much for your auditions, and we'll see you when we're done!

  • 3 days left to audition!

    There is a LOT of competition so far for roles, y'all have made this super difficult! That being said, after the deadline has passed, no more auditions will be accepted, so make sure that if you have a friend that might like to give it a shot, tell them now is the time! Once the deadline passes, I will be deciding on roles for a few weeks. IN THIS TIME PERIOD, WATCH YOUR INBOXES. If I decided I loved your voice but I think your voice might better suit another character, I might ask you to send in an audition for that character if you haven't already. You may decline this request, but there are no guarantees that I'd pick your audition over others that have auditioned for the role. The only exception to all of the above are the shadow cries. I need a pool of a million or so cries that I can pull from and edit in. Background cries for in Tartarus, bosses with unique cries, enemies passing by, death/appearance/attack cries, etc. It'll be a long process and a lot less fun ripping the sounds from the game and using them, so I'd much rather have a pool of talented actors feeding it in.     I've been blown away by the responses and amount of auditions. I was expecting roughly 2 auditions for each role, but this has gotten more popular than I could have imagined. I'm looking forward to putting this project together!

The protagonist of the adventure, Minato has been strongly characterized as lazy, gluttonous, quiet, intense-looking and unshakable. He is able to take everything thrown at him in stride, no matter how bizarre. This does not mean that he does not care, but rather he never shows it. This may be due to him witnessing the horrible events 10 years ago, having death sealed within him for so long, or witnessing the death of his parents as they burned to death in the wreckage from the explosions.


Since most of the character is dependent on how the player normally responds, original interpretations are welcome, so long as they stay somewhat true to the above description!

  • *Matter-of-fact, spit-off* The first incident happened May 30th. Soon after, two more almost identical incidents occured. They shared the same circumstances as the ghost story, and all three girls have been hospitalized, which created all the talk that's spread.

  • *Confused, to himself* Did the batteries die...? What happened?

  • *Getting fired up, heat of battle* I'm borrowing this. I'll start thinking once I'm there!!

The cold beauty of Gekkoukan high, Yukari puts up a kind front in order to deal with all of the new and old problems that seem to haunt her. Although she tries to take her position in school and in SEES seriously, she always seems to have something else on her mind. Outside of battle, she normally practices archery for the school club, and loves to go shopping or eat sweets at the local cafe. Even around her friends and acquaintances in SEES, she has an air of uncertainty and distrust, even picking on them at times and calling them out. This could be due to the death of her father 10 years ago in the fateful accident, and the strained relationship she has with her mother, who gave up on her father without a second thought. She still has her doubts and speculations about the cause of the accident, is is determined to discover the truth.

  • *Caring, compassionate* Don't push yourself too hard. I can't heal you if you're dead.

  • *Faking it, putting on a front* Good morning. Did you sleep okay? Mitsuru-senpai asked me to take you to school. It's getting late, so... are you ready to go?

  • *Angry, finally letting it out* Hmph! Well, you're just Mr. Perfect. Nothing ever fazes you. And now, you've got the nerve to try and tell me how to feel!? You think you know me!? You don't know anything!

Strong, confident, elegant and refined leader, she is the brains of the operations and is willing to take initiative to support her team. She comes from a wealthy family, the ties of which lie eerily close to the menace at hand. Outside of fighting, she is a senior and the student council president. She also seems to be proficient in french. She takes her roles, and most importantly her life, very seriously, and has few moments of pure joy or laughter. This may be due to the loss of her mother as a child, or due to her family's dark past.

  • *Commanding, in the heat of battle* Alright, we're going in for an All-Out attack!

  • *Downtrodden, confiding* You see, I had overestimated my ability to handle everything alone. Few people can be that strong... There are times where we cannot stand without the support of others.

A headstrong brawler who has  an high sense of justice and strives to be the strongest he possibly can. While not fighting, he is a boxer and awaits his next opponent. He is usually cool and collected around his classmates, even cracking small jokes, however he is willing to cast safety aside and become super aggressive in order to protect life. This may come from when he was younger and lost his little sister, or another traumatic event where and and an acquaintance were responsible for the murder of a woman during the dark hour.

  • *Excited, battle-worn* You're not gonna believe this...! This thing is huge! Unfortunately, I don't have time to talk... It's chasing me... I wanted to let you guys know. I'm almost there.

  • *Down, sentimental* You're right... I was too obsessed with power... Ever since I lost Miki, that's all I've cared about... I thought that if I was strong enough, I could protect anyone... But, I was wrong, and now, you're gone too... I'm such an idiot.

  • *Getting pumped, before battle* Is that so...? Well, regardless, I don't regret my decision. I'll defeat you, no matter what you are!

A thick-skulled and sarcastic ball of energy longing to be a hero, Junpei is one to crack jokes and willing to take the lead. Outside of battle, he's seen as lazy and always up to no good, having to academic rigor he longs to take control of his life and become a hero to feel he commands respect. He desperately wants to protect the innocent and put a smile on everyone's face. This could be due to his home life being less than ideal, as his father is a drunk who beats him and his mother constantly. 

  • *Confused, surprised* This is the "nest" you were talking about!? But, why!? Why'd our school turn into a giant tower!?

  • *Down, admittance* Well, yea, I guess... but... That's about all I've got going for me. Without that... I'd be a nobody. I just talk a big game... pretendin' like I'm some kinda hero. But in reality... I don't know what the hell I'm fighting for... or why I'm here at all...

  • *Regular, character* I'm Junpei Iori. Nice to meet ya. I transferred here when I was in eighth grade. I know how tough it is bein' the new kid... So I wanted to say, "hey." See what a nice guy I am?

A somewhat feeble, if not extremely forgiving, girl who was the victim of bullying. Her disconnect from her parents drove her to be a loner with a high proficiency for technology. In battle, she acts as the support; never fighting, but ensuring that the fighters have all the information they need on the enemy by using her ability to sense weaknesses and locate their enemies. Outside of battle, she is a tad coy, but tries to familiarize herself with maidenly activities, such as cooking. Although she can't handle giant responsibilities well, she'll tackle the small jobs head on and with all her might.

  • *Understanding, full of resolve* Pulling this trigger... it's a power that can hurt others for the sake of protecting someone. It means having that kind of courage... If I am here to protect someone, then I know that I can pull this trigger!

  • *Aiding, calling out to teammates* I can see their weak points... On the side of the abdomen! And also... at the base of the neck!

  • *Enthusiastic, encouraging* Your cooking is great! You should practice more. Curry, hamburgers, stew and omelet rice... here, take care of this.

A mature youth who still enjoys childish things, Ken is constantly trying to prove himself to his seniors. He acts seriously and respectfully, but is kind and well kept. Outside of battle, he enjoys watching Neo-Featherman (Power Rangers Ripoff) and enjoys the company of Koromaru. In elementary school, he doesn't seem to have any friends his age. He is very independent and seems to rely solely on himself, rather than asking for help. This could be due to his witnessing the murder of his mother during the dark hour, which forced him to mature rather quickly. Since the act took place in the shadows, not even the police believed his explanation of the events.

  • *Understanding, sudden realization* All this time, I've just been running away... I've made up my mind. Shinjiro-san... I'll see it through to the end.

  • *Sentimental, anger building* I'm surprised you abandoned the operation... Do you know why I asked you to meet me here? Two years ago today... That was the day my mom died here. They called it an accident... but it wasn't. I saw the whole thing... You murdered her!

  • *Regular in character* Hello! My name is Ken Amada. I'll be staying here for a while. I'll try to stay out of everyone's way, so don't mind me.

A robot designed and programmed as an anti-shadow weapon, she's packed to the rim with both devotion, information, and weapons. Not only can she translate languages from foreign countries and animals, but she has a very strong affinity for our protagonist, Minato. As a robot, she cannot love, but her commitment to keeping Minato safe is almost stalker-life. This may be due to the event 10 years ago, where she held off the shadow of death at the cost of many lives, and ended up sealing him inside of a then-child Minato.

An avatar of death, he seems to have lost his memory of something important, and continues to speak about "The Fall." Currently occupying space in Minato's head, very little is known about him, other than he seems to be mysterious, somewhat playful, and innocent to the current happenings in the story. He will sometimes pop out of nowhere and give Minato information about the forthcoming Fall, or simply try to deepen the friendship between them.

This is NOT Ryoji, although in future CC's, preference will be given to those who previously had a solid audition for Pharos.

  • *Statement, expecting* No one can escape time. It delivers us all to the same end. You can't plug your ears and cover your eyes.

  • *Remembering, leading* I remembered something else about the coming of the end... It all goes back to an occurance that took place many years ago... Ten years ago, if I remember correctly. Hey... didn't your parents pass away about ten years ago?

The god of death, incarnated in an avatar state. Commanded by a superior being, Nyx was sent 10 years ago to bring the Fall to humankind and end it's existence, allowing the creation of a new world, only to be stopped and broken into 13 separate pieces. However, the will of the people has not changed and Nyx is still hellbent on bringing about the fall. This part is almost like a narrator that is observing all of the actions take place.
