He is flamboyant, emotional, and narcissistic; however, he is extremely dedicated to his duties as a host. He is the "prince" host type, who can charm any girl with sweet talk—yet he is always truthful in his compliments. To him, all girls are pretty, and the happiness of his guest is his greatest enjoyment.
Tamaki acts as the main comic relief in the series, exemplified in his extremely dense and naïve approach to his own feelings, and extreme emotional reactions to Haruhi's comments about his stupidity.

Haruhi is dedicated to her studies and aspires to enter law school to emulate her deceased mother. She is practical and honest to a fault but also caring and insightful. While she often finds the antics of the Host Club annoying, she appreciates their protectiveness of her and their genuine desire to "make every girl happy." The series shows how Haruhi interacts with each of the hosts in different ways and how her relationships with them evolve over time. While apathetic towards events, she is astute in gauging other people's motives. Throughout the anime, Haruhi remains friendly towards all the hosts, despite several of them stating romantic feelings towards her.
I hate all these damn rich people.

I'm also going to be a bit picky with this one because he is my absolute favorite character, so sorry in advance :))
Kyoya is calculating and coldly intelligent. Kyoya is an exceptional analyst and manager. His special skill is networking, and he is always aware of how a person could be useful to him later on. While he really does weigh pros and cons rather than go with his feelings, he’s not entirely robotic. He’s difficult to see through, but as co-host Haruhi comments, “You go to all that trouble acting like you're such a big jerk when being a nice guy comes so naturally to you. It seems counterintuitive.”
I'm okay with anything as long as it doesn't harm me.

Hikaru Hitachiin is the elder of identical twins Hitachiin and is in Class 1-A with his younger twin, Kaoru, and fellow Host Club member, Haruhi. Although he is considered the "leader twin," he is less mature than Kaoru when it comes to managing his emotions and dealing with others.

Kaoru is the younger of the Hitachiin twins and is in Class 1-A with his Identical Twins, Hikaru; and fellow Host Club Member, Haruhi. Despite being younger than his brother, Hikaru, he is shown to be much more mature and level-headed.
Feelings you have for each other will not be known unless you voice them.

is an older boy who is attractive to girls because he is child-like and cute. Honey, himself, loves cute things and indulges in sweets of cake and candy on a near-constant basis; this, despite being smaller than average for his age and a martial arts champion. He is a perennial optimist with an innocent approach to life that makes him appear to be more like an elementary school student instead of a 3rd-year high school student, as well as the eldest of all the Hosts. He is often seen riding on the shoulders of his best friend and cousin, Takashi "Mori" Morinozuka , and is almost always carrying his pink stuffed rabbit, Usa-chan. When he speaks about positive things, flowers float about his head.

Mori is a 3rd-year student at Ouran Academy and the second-oldest member of the Ouran Host Club. As a Host, he is considered the "Wild" type in the manga and the "Strong-Silent" type in the anime. He is rarely seen without his cousin and best friend, Honey, who is often found riding on his shoulders. Historically, the Morinozuka family had served the Haninozuka family for many generations before marriage joined the families, thus breaking the master-servant tradition; despite this, Mori still faithfully looks out for Honey and attends to his wishes. He is a national champion in kendo and a skilled karate practitioner. His stoic and sometimes scary demeanor hides the fact that he has a peculiar connection with animals as seen in the manga when he adopts a stray tanuki and cares for a baby chick, and wherein it is also said that he has a "fetish for small things"

Renge is in Class 1-A with Hikaru, Kaoru, and Haruhi. Renge transfers into Ouran Academy as a means of meeting Kyoya who, due to his close resemblance to a dating sim game character with whom Renge is infatuated, she decides he is her real-life fiancé. While her crush fades, Renge establishes herself as the Host Club's self-proclaimed manager and appears in the series on a regular basis.

Shiro appears as a minor character and an unofficial Host of the Host Club. It may be speculated that this is because of his age, which places him as a 5th-year at the elementary level.

Kasanoda is a student at Ouran Academy who is in Class 1-D. He comes to the Host Club in search of Mori-senpai because he's observed how the tall Host with the tough exterior has so many friends, as well as being respected and admired. His long red hair makes him easy to spot in a crowd and, true to the myth about red-heads, he is quick to anger but is actually quite kind-hearted deep inside and somewhat lonely. He develops a crush on Haruhi, though as a male or a female is somewhat questionable.

is the husband of Kotoko Fujioka and the father of Haruhi Fujioka. Ryoji is a professional cross-dresser and entertainer at an okama bar who goes by the stage name "Ranka," which is what he insists the hosts use when addressing him

commonly referred to simply as Nekozawa-Senpai, is the President of the Black Magic Club. Depicted as a hooded figure who is never without Beelzenef, the curse doll, which is actually no more than a hand puppet that looks like a cat. Despite displaying a frightening disposition and strange hobbies, Nekozawa is actually a very nice person. He suffers from Photophobia (sensitivity to light or a fear of light), which causes him to collapse in direct sunlight. As a result, whenever he is dragged towards any light source, he refers to the people who do so as "murderers." Nekozawa is devoted to his little sister, Kirimi; so much so, in fact, that he asks the Host Club to help him become the "princely-big brother" Kirimi wishes him to be. He is of Russian descent from the Tokarev Dynasty whose wealth comes from the sale of firearms.
