Project Overview

Ouran Highschool Host Club was a very popular anime with an amazing first season, but unfortunately we’ve been waiting over 15 years for a new one. So, we decided to change that! 

The plot is about a transmasc boy in the middle of transitioning named Malikai who moves from the US to Japan due to his father getting a new job. In Japan, he goes to Ouran High School where he learns about a host club where students can be who they are, full of some of the most attractive students in the school. Malikai sees this as a great opportunity to learn how to appear more masculine from the most sought after boys around, and in the club he finds out what masculine means to him, and makes new friends and fun memories along the way.

The main goal of this project is not only to create more content to satisfy our longing Ouran Highschool Host Club hearts, but to create something entirely new and original, with a completely new cast of characters from various parts of the world, with different sexualities, genders, pronouns, accents and ethnicities that will make the show much more updated and fresh!

Since this is a fan project, it is very unlikely your audition will be turned down! We want help from everybody, whether you have the specific skills we need or not!

  • First Round Casting Results!

    Hello everyone (and no, we haven't forgotten you)! After much considering the first set of 275+ voice acting and singing auditions has been pared down to 35. We thank all of you for your time and patience concerning the project, and let's make this season a good one!   • Casting Results

    Greetings! Every single audition on this casting call has been carefully reviewed and rated, and we will release the casting soon! We are still rating new auditions though, so feel free to keep sending them in! We will have a cast reveal party in our discord on the 15th, and the link to the rating sheet will be open to them. For those who do/did not join the discord, the final casting will be revealed 3 days later on the 18th of June, so make sure to join the discord if you want to know first!   • Voice acting is open!

    We have finally created our main cast, and now as we work on the scripting and character building of these characters we will allow people to try out for their voice acting roles! We’re giving three months to audition, ending on the 15th of June 2022 (This is prone to be pushed back) We can’t wait to hear your amazing voice!

Malikai Hughes is our main character of the story. He is transgender ftm and has a somewhat feminine voice. Throughout the story his voice will become more masculine with practice. He’s a somewhat introverted person, but once you get him out of his shell, he’s very sweet and kind.

Aiko Yuuna is a rambunctious girl who is half Korean half Chinese, so her accent will be a blend of the two. She speaks fluent English and is a theatre, knowing almost any reference thrown at her. She’s popular for her good looks and being the head of her theatre group.

  • “No no no, there’s no need to go to my house! None at all, hehe…” *nervous/rambling*

  • Singing: “Angelicaaaa, Eliza, and Peggy, the Schuyler sisters-“ *stops singing* “okay fine fine, I’ll shut up!” *annoyed*

Roisin was born in Ireland, and lived there for about 7 years until she moved to Japan. Her Irish accent is slightly thin due to her memories mostly being in Japan, so her voice is Irish with a very slight hint of a Japanese accent (if that’s not in your range, don’t worry! Just stick to an Irish accent!) Roisin is the motherly type, always making sure that her friends and people around her are safe. She often puts other’s needs before her own, and that can lead to her becoming snappy at times.

  • “Welcome to the club, I hope you enjoy your stay. Would you like some tea? I can have the maid make some for you.” *polite/mature*

  • “I don’t remember much from when I lived in Ireland- sorry, just a minute. Aiko stop climbing on the pillars, that’s dangerous!” *Motherly*

  • “Oshima and I have been friends since middle school. He’s the most annoying person you’ll ever meet, but I love him anyway. Platonically of course!” *happy*

Kiyoshi is a transgender mtf girl who is somewhat shy and closed off, except when around close friends. She’s fully transitioned, so her voice is feminine in nature, with little to no masculine qualities to it. She’s a bookworm, and is the most booksmart of the host club.

Oshima is a cocky boy, often boasting about his family’s wealth as well as his good looks, but he only does this to mask his insecurities. He’s the most popular of the host club due to his similarity to the clubs original king.

    *note, Novaeu Riche is pronounced “New-voe Reesh” 

  • “Dear mademoiselle, do not fret, no matter how the world may try to tear us apart, I shall not allow it! For our love is eternal.” *dramatic*

  • “This painting is hundreds of years old you know, it was painted with the finest paints and brushes the craftsman could offer. My family bought it for the club for a billion yen. It really is marvelous… anyway, here’s a can of spray paint, go crazy.” *casual*

Oliver Suru is a quiet boy, who’s generally cold to people he meets, and is characterized for his homophobic thoughts and behaviors which were brought on by his brother and cultural surroundings. By joining the host club he is educated about the lgbtq+ community, and he learns how to accept the community, as well as himself.

Machi is a somewhat sarcastic boy and a bit of a nerd as well. He got into the school through an academic scholarship, and is from the UK. He is the backbone of the host club, and admires all of them greatly for their unique personalities and confidence. He even has a bit of a fan club of his own, but refuses to join the club due to not wanting to be compared to his brother (who is very popular) any more. The club often teases him about various things, but in their heart of hearts, the club loves him, and he loves them back.

  • “Alright everyone, we have three events this month, the first one being an exclusive red carpet event. Just kidding, you guys aren’t that famous.” *sarcastic/teasing*

  • “I’m not a nerd! Reading manga is perfectly normal! *huff* I don’t even know why I put up with you guys…” *frustrated*

He was born in India, and he holds a slight accent. His voice is very flat and emotionless, and only when he’s feeling very strongly about something will his voice register change. This can lead to people thinking he’s aggressive or mean when he’s one of the nicest people ever. Somewhat sensitive, Devansh is the morals of his friends group, often giving them good advice when needed. He’s kind and caring when need be, and tries not to make anyone uncomfortable.  He will always greet his friends with a hug and smile no matter how bad his day was.

Kosuke’s voice has an British accent, and he tends to be stubborn. He really wants to show others that he can do things without the need of extra help. Mischievous, he can be a bit of a trouble maker, charismatic, and will do the playful flirt thing to try to weasel his way out of trouble.

His accent is a posh British accent, and he is the older brother of Oliver. Marshall is very two faced, he will act nice in front of authority or his family, but when nobody is around he is very homophobic and rude, and overall a terrible person. 

This role will possibly require some light homophobic as well as transphobic lines to be said.
